The Mine Hill School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade from Mine Hill Township, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising one school, had an enrollment of 347 students and 34.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.2:1.The district participates in the Interdistrict Public School Choice Program, having been approved on November 2, 1999, as one of the first ten districts statewide to participate in the program. Seats in the program for non-resident students are specified by the district and are allocated by lottery, with tuition paid for participating students by the New Jersey Department of Education.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.For seventh through twelfth grades, public school students attend the schools of the Dover School District in Dover as part of a sending/receiving relationship. The district also serves students from Victory Gardens, which has been fully consolidated into the Dover School District since 2010. The high school was recognized with the National Blue Ribbon School Award in 2013. Schools in the Dover School District attended by Mine Hill students (with 2018–19 enrollment from the National Center for Education Statistics) are Dover Middle School with 511 students in grade 7-8 and Dover High School with 983 stundets in grades 9-12.

The Bridget Smith House is a historic home that housed Irish immigrant families. It is located at 124 Randolph Avenue in Mine Hill Township, New Jersey and is part of the New Jersey Women's Heritage Trail. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 27, 1998.

New Jersey's 11th congressional district is a suburban district in northern New Jersey. The district includes portions of Essex, Morris, and Passaic Counties. It is centered in Morris County.The 11th congressional district, along with the 12th, was created in 1913 based on the results of the 1910 census, and was centered in Essex County. The congressional seat was held by Democrats for almost 36 years under Hugh Joseph Addonizio and Joseph Minish. The 1980 redistricting shifted the focus of the district to the Republican-dominated Morris County. Republican Dean Gallo defeated 22-year incumbent Democrat Joseph Minish in 1984. The district became one of the most reliably Republican districts in the Northeast. It has traditionally leaned Republican but has shifted slightly more Democratic in recent years, and has been represented by Democrat Mikie Sherrill since 2019.Since 2023, the 11th district lost all of its towns in Sussex County, and gained several new towns in Essex County, such as Millburn and Belleville, but otherwise still contains most of Morris County. The current version of the district is not nearly as competitive, and is significantly more Democratic.

St. Mary's Church is a historic Roman Catholic parish church located at 371 South Main Street in the borough of Wharton in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The parish was founded in 1845 and serves the communities of Wharton, Dover, and Mine Hill Township. It is part of the Diocese of Paterson. The Gothic Revival stone church was designed by architect Jeremiah O'Rourke and built from 1872 to 1873. Listed as Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, it was added to the New Jersey Register of Historic Places in 1997. The church buildings and grounds were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2023.

Gottesman RTW Academy (formerly Nathan Bohrer Abraham Kaufman Hebrew Academy of Morris County) is a coeducational Jewish day school located on County Route 513 in Randolph, New Jersey serving approximately 225 children in nursery school through grade eight. The school serves the Jewish community of Morris County, New Jersey, along with students from Sussex County and Warren County. As a community day school, the school accepts students from all branches of Judaism. As of 2006, GRTWA is a member of RAVSAK, a transliterated acronym from Hebrew which in English means Jewish Community Day School Network, having previously been affiliated with the Solomon Schechter Day School Association.As of the 2013-14 school year, the school had 135 students in kindergarten through eighth grade (plus 50 students in pre-K, for a total enrollment of 185) and 14.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.6:.

Hedden County Park is a general purpose public park, located in Morris County, New Jersey, near the town of Dover. It has a total area of 389.42 acres (1.5759 km2) which includes six-acre Hedden Pond and a 2.8-acre easement along Jackson Brook. The park was dedicated on October 4, 1970, and is named after the Hedden family of Dover, who donated the original 40 acres (160,000 m2) section in 1963.The park features two ball fields, and other multiple-purpose fields, and a children play area. There are picnic areas, including a 140-person sheltered area with facilities. The pond offers a fishing deck. Most of the park area is accessible from several hiking trails through woods and along streams and waterfalls.

The Youngtown Edition is a college newspaper published continually by students attending the County College of Morris since the opening of the college in Fall 1968. The newspaper is published biweekly and is distributed across the college campus. The newspaper covers campus issues, profiles students and professors, and world issues that may impact the campus. The Youngtown Edition has won four (4) Gold Crown awards, given out by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (2004, 2006, 2007, 2009). The Youngtown Edition has since fallen victim to oppression and intimidation due to their reporting of the actions taken by the college's administration, headed by President Dr. Tony Iacono. Reports have surfaced of Iacono intimidating student journalists, professors, and faculty for reporting the truth or speaking on their discontent with the administration's actions. Since Iacono has taken over at County College of Morris, The Youngtown Edition has not received any awards.

County College of Morris (CCM) is a public community college in Randolph, New Jersey. CCM offers associate degree and certificate programs as well as transfer opportunities for students looking to pursue a bachelor's degree at another institution, along with workforce development offerings.

The Wharton Borough School District is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade from Wharton, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising two schools, had an enrollment of 738 students and 73.7 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.0:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Public school students in ninth through twelfth grades attend Morris Hills High School, located in Rockaway Borough, and which also serves portions of Rockaway Borough and Rockaway Township. As of the 2018–19 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 1,279 students and 118.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.8:1. The high school is part of the Morris Hills Regional High School District, which also includes students from Denville Township, who attend Morris Knolls High School along with students from parts of Rockaway Borough and Rockaway Township.

Kenvil is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Roxbury Township, in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, that had been part of the Succasunna-Kenvil CDP as part of the 2000 United States Census, at which time the population of the combined was 12,569. For the 2010 census, the area was split into two CDPs, Succasunna (with a 2010 Census population of 9,152) and Kenvil (3,009 as of 2010).

The Hercules Powder plant disaster was an explosion at an armaments factory owned by the Hercules Powder Company in the Kenvil section of Roxbury, New Jersey, on 12 September 1940. About 52 people were killed and 100 injured.The cause of the explosion remains unclear. Possible explanations include an industrial accident or sabotage carried out by the Irish Republican Army (IRA) or by a group of German Americans living in nearby Sussex County. Congressman Martin Dies, chair of the House Un-American Activities Committee at the time, believed that Nazi agents were responsible for the blast. After German immigrant Oscar C. Pfaus helped connect Nazi agents with the IRA in America, Abwehr agent Karl Franz Rekowski was sent to the U.S. where he arranged for the IRA to carry out sabotage attacks. Rekowski alleges the IRA carried out the attack on the plant.The 1940 explosion at the Hercules factory followed another in 1933 that killed six people; in 1989, a third explosion there shattered windows across the town.

Wharton is a borough in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 7,241, an increase of 719 (+11.0%) from the 2010 census count of 6,522, which in turn reflected an increase of 224 (+3.6%) from the 6,298 counted in the 2000 census.Wharton was originally incorporated as the borough Port Oram by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on June 26, 1895, created from portions of Randolph Township and Rockaway Township, subject to the results of a referendum passed on the previous day; the name was changed to Wharton on April 16, 1902, based on a referendum held that day and subject to legislation passed on March 27, 1902. The borough was named for Joseph Wharton of the Wharton Steel Company.
