Rudy, Silesian Voivodeship

Ruda [ˈruda] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kuźnia Raciborska, within Racibórz County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland.

The Palace-Monastery of Rudy (Polish: Pocysterski Zespół Klasztorno-Pałacowy w Rudach (Wielkich) or German: Schloss Rauden or German: Kloster Rauden) is located in Rudy within the Racibórz County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. The gothic Cistercian monastery was founded in the 13th century. During the 17th and 18th century, it was rebuilt in baroque style. It was a thriving school which included an impressive library. After the secularization, it became property of the prince of Hesse-Rothenburg and subsequently, the dukes of Ratibor and princes of Corvey, a branch of the Hohenlohe family. They made it their principal seat, which it remained up to the end of the Second World War. It was looted and set afire by the Red Army. The monastery church was immediately rebuilt, but the remaining buildings were only restored from the 1990s onwards. In 1998, it was transferred to the Diocese of Gliwice, and it has been an educational centre since, with the opportunity to stay the night over.

Rudy Landscape Park (full name Park Krajobrazowy Cysterskie Kompozycje Krajobrazowe Rud Wielkich: "Landscape Park of the Cistercian Landscape Compositions of Rudy Wielkie") is a protected area (landscape park) in southern Poland, established in 1993, covering an area of 493.87 square kilometres (190.68 sq mi). The Park lies within Silesian Voivodeship: in Gliwice County (Gmina Pilchowice, Gmina Sośnicowice), Pszczyna County (Gmina Suszec), Racibórz County (Gmina Nędza) and Rybnik County (Gmina Czerwionka-Leszczyny, Gmina Gaszowice, Gmina Jejkowice, Gmina Lyski). Protected are the remnants of natural riparian and oak-hornbeam forests, typical of the upper Odra valley, as well as ponds - breeding grounds for birds and habitats of rare mud and water plants (e.g. yellow watercress, water caltrop). Monuments of animate and inanimate nature include an erratic boulder northeast of Rybnik-Paruszowiec.

Zwonowice [zvɔnɔˈvit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Lyski, within Rybnik County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) north-west of Rybnik and 41 km (25 mi) west of the regional capital Katowice.

It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) east of Kuźnia Raciborska, 19 km (12 mi) north-east of Racibórz, and 42 km (26 mi) west of the regional capital Katowice.

Stodoły [stɔˈdɔwɨ] (lit. barns, German: Stodoll) is a district of Rybnik, Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. In the late 2013 it had about 600 inhabitants.
