The Władysław Szafer Institute of Botany (Instytut Botaniki im. Władysława Szafera, Polish) in Kraków, Poland is a major European herbarium containing a collection of over 650,000 vascular plants, bryophytes, algae, fungi, lichens, and various plant fossils. The vascular plant specimens are primarily from Central Europe with a specialization in alpine plants. The bryophytes are Polish, Antarctic and subAntarctic, and East African. The fossil plants are largely Central European. Main publications include Acta Palaeobotanica, and the Polish Botanical Journal.The herbarium was established in the 1950s by professor of botany and paleobotany, Władysław Szafer, at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

Batowice [batɔˈvit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Zielonki, within Kraków County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. The Polish Aviation Museum (Polish: Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego w Krakowie) is a large museum of old aircraft and aircraft engines in Kraków, Poland. It is located at the site of the no-longer functional Kraków-Rakowice-Czyżyny Airport. This airfield, established by Austria-Hungary in 1912, is one of the oldest in the world. The museum opened in 1964, after the airfield closed in 1963. Has been scored as eighth world's best aviation museum by CNN.For the first half century of its existence the museum used four hangars of the former airfield to display its exhibits. These buildings were not originally designed for this purpose and suffered from various inadequacies, notably insufficient heating in winter. The situation improved when a new main building for the museum opened on 18 September 2010.

Zesławicki Lagoon (Polish: Zalew Zesławicki – two artificial reservoirs with a causeway lined with concrete slabs in the middle of them. The lagoon is an open landscape on the border of Kraków (Mistrzejowice District XV), Raciborowice (gmina Michałowice) and Batowice (gmina Zielonki) as the water intake for some osiedles of Nowa Huta. The name of the lagoon is derived from Zesławice, a former village attached to Nowa Huta and later incorporated into Kraków in the area where dams and reservoirs were built. The height above sea level of the lagoon is around 215 metres. It is bordered to the south by Gustawa Morcinka Street, to the east by Ku Raciborowicom Street, to the north by No.8 railway track, and to the west the third reservoir once planned. The lagoon is fed by River Dłubina, across which is a weir controlling the water level as it flows from the reservoirs. The lagoon was built in the 50s of 20th century. In principle it had resigned from carrying out its original function in the mid-80s of 20th century when the construction of Lake Dobczyce began.
