Andover, New Hampshire

The Keniston Bridge is a historic covered bridge in Andover, New Hampshire, carrying Bridge Street over the Blackwater River. Built in 1882, it is of Town through truss construction, and is one of the few surviving 19th-century covered bridges in the state. It is also one of the only ones whose sides are not fully sheathed, exposing the trusses. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Hopkins Pond (also known as Adder Pond) is a small pond located at the south foot of Ragged Mountain, in the town of Andover, New Hampshire, United States. It lies at an elevation of 644 feet (196 m). The pond is part of Proctor Academy's 2,500-acre (10 km2) campus in Andover and is jointly managed by Proctor and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. The pond area is open to the public for non-motorized boat travel, fishing and hiking. This shallow pond has an average depth of 6 feet (1.8 m), is 15 feet (4.6 m) deep at the deepest point, and covers a total area of 27 acres (11 ha). It empties eastward into Mountain Brook below Elbow Pond. Mountain Brook, in turn, is a tributary of the Blackwater River, which flows via the Contoocook River and Merrimack River to the Gulf of Maine (Atlantic Ocean) at Newburyport, Massachusetts. Hopkins Pond sits within the Merrimack River watershed, and is floristically considered part of the Sunapee Uplands sub-region of the Lower New England-Northern Piedmont Ecoregion, as defined by The Nature Conservancy, and the New England-Acadian Forest Ecoregion, as defined by the World Wildlife Fund.The north shore of Hopkins Pond can be accessed from the west by Middle Hopkins Pond Trail. The south shore can be accessed from Lower Hopkins Pond Trail. Both shores can be accessed from the east by an NH Fish and Game access road off Elbow Pond Road. Observed species of fish in the pond include rainbow trout and brook trout.

Ragged Mountain (2,286 feet (697 m) above sea level) is a low mountain with numerous knobby summits in the towns of Danbury and Andover in central New Hampshire. It is home to the Ragged Mountain ski resort.

The Potter Place Railroad Station is a historic railroad station on Depot Street in Andover, New Hampshire. Built in 1874, it is one of the best-preserved surviving 19th-century railroad stations in Merrimack County. It now houses the museum of the Andover Historical Society. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Frazier Brook is a 7.7-mile-long (12.4 km) stream in central New Hampshire in the United States. Via the Blackwater and Contoocook rivers, it is part of the Merrimack River watershed. It is subject to the New Hampshire Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act. Frazier Brook begins in Danbury, New Hampshire, just south of the town center, and flows south through the town of Wilmot into Andover. Eagle Pond and Bog Pond interrupt the brook's flow. Shortly below Bog Pond, the brook reaches the Blackwater River at the village of Cilleyville. Frazier Brook is paralleled for most of its length by U.S. Route 4.

The Bog Bridge, also known as the Cilleyville Bridge, is a historic covered bridge in Andover, New Hampshire. Built in 1887 and located off New Hampshire Route 11 west of Andover center, the Town lattice truss bridge is one of New Hampshire's few surviving 19th-century covered bridges, and is relatively little altered since its construction, having had its roof replaced and an abutment reconstructed. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Gershom Durgin House is a historic house at 391 Franklin Highway in Andover, New Hampshire. Probably built between 1808 and 1820, it is a well-preserved example of an early 19th-century Cape Cod style house. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Mount Kearsarge is a mountain located in Wilmot, New Hampshire, and Warner, New Hampshire. Two state parks are located at the northern and southern bases of the mountain—Winslow State Park and Rollins State Park, respectively—and the entire mountain is within Kearsarge Mountain State Forest. On a very clear day, skyscrapers in the city of Boston 80 miles (130 km) away are visible from the fire tower on the summit. The summit has remained bare since a 1796 forest fire. The name of the mountain evolved from a 1652 rendering of the native Pennacook tribal name for the mountain, Carasarga, which it is surmised means "notch-pointed-mountain of pines".

Kearsarge Mountain State Forest is a 3,893-acre (1,575 ha) state forest in the towns of Warner, Wilmot, Andover, and Salisbury, New Hampshire, United States. In 1922 it encompassed 839 acres (340 ha). The state forest covers the summit and most of the slopes of Mount Kearsarge, the highest point in Merrimack County. Winslow State Park is in the northern part of the state forest, and Rollins State Park is at the southern edge.

Winslow State Park is a public recreation area located on the northwest slope of Mount Kearsarge in Wilmot, New Hampshire. The state park features a picnic area on an 1,820-foot (550 m) plateau with views of the White Mountains to the north. A 1.1-mile (1.8 km) foot trail (the Winslow Trail) leads from the picnic area to the summit of Mount Kearsarge. A 1.7-mile (2.7 km) trail (the Barlow Trail) offers a loop possibility.

The Tucker Mountain Schoolhouse is a historic one-room schoolhouse on Tucker Mountain Road in Andover, New Hampshire. The small wood-frame building was built in 1837, and served as a schoolhouse until 1893, when it was closed due to declining enrollments. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. It is now owned by the Andover Historical Society, and is occasionally open to the public in the summer.

South Danbury Christian Church is a historic church at 675 US 4 in Danbury, New Hampshire. Built in 1867, it is a little-altered and well-preserved example of a rural vernacular church. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
