McKinney Homestead

The Smith Rock Shelter is a natural limestone overhang in McKinney Falls State Park near Austin, Texas. The shelter is believed to have been used by Native Americans from 500 BCE until the 18th century. The last known occupants were related to the Tonkawa. It is accessible via the 0.8 mile round-trip Smith Rockshelter Trail in the park. The shelter abuts Onion Creek and is one of two natural rock shelters in Travis County to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places (the other is the Levi Rock Shelter). Smith Rock Shelter was added to the Register on October 1, 1974.

McKinney Falls State Park is a state park in Austin, Texas, United States at the confluence of Onion Creek and Williamson Creek. It is administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The park opened on April 15, 1976 and is named after Thomas F. McKinney, a businessman, race horse breeder and rancher, who owned and lived on the land in the mid-to-late 19th century. The park is part of the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail.

Travis Association for the Blind (TAB) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization employing over 400 Texans of which approximately 250 are legally blind in six facilities in southeast Austin, Texas as well as a facility in Taylor, Texas. Travis Association for the Blind warehouses, distributes, manufactures, and repairs a wide variety of merchandise for local, state, and federal government as well as private industry. The mission of TAB is to enhance the opportunities for the economic and personal independence of people who are blind or visually impaired by creating, sustaining, and improving employment. TAB’s mission ensures long-term employment and training opportunities through AbilityOne and Texas State-Use strategic sourcing programs, as well as supporting the local community with job training and skill attainment. TAB is a National Industries for the Blind (NIB) partner agency.

Pilot Knob is the eroded core of an extinct volcano located 8 miles (13 km) south of central Austin, Texas, near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and McKinney Falls State Park.

Williamson Creek Greenbelt is a park and greenbelt located in the south of Austin, Texas, running along Williamson Creek and its tributaries.

The National Black Deaf Advocates (NBDA) is an advocacy organization for thousands of Black deaf and hard of hearing people in the United States. Black Deaf leaders were concerned that deaf and hard-of-hearing African-Americans were not adequately represented in leadership and policy decision-making activities that were affecting their lives. NBDA was established to address such concerns and serve as an advocacy organization that focuses on the needs of Black deaf and hard-of-hearing people in America.

Pilot Knob is an unincorporated community in southern Travis County, Texas, United States. The community is centered on the intersection of US 183 and Farm to Market Road 812 and is named for Pilot Knob, the remnant hill of an extinct volcano. The area is semi-rural with residences on large lots or acreage and convenience stores and other small businesses.

East Riverside-Oltorf is a neighborhood in Austin, Texas, located southeast of the city's urban core. The East Riverside, Parker Lane, and Pleasant Valley neighborhoods together form the East Riverside-Oltorf Combined Neighborhood Planning Area. The region is bounded on the north by Lake Lady Bird, to the east by Grove Boulevard and the Montopolis neighborhood, Texas State Highway 71 to the south, and Interstate 35 and South River City to the west. East Riverside Drive is a highly traveled roadway located a few minutes from Downtown Austin, but was until recently a neglected area of Austin. In addition to being a primary route between Downtown Austin and the Austin Bergstrom International Airport, the City of Austin has deemed it an important corridor for development. Recently there has been significant interest in the redevelopment of several large properties in the area.

The Judge Sebron G. Sneed House (also, Sneed House and Comal Bluff) is a historic former limestone plantation house in Austin, Texas, commissioned by Judge Sebron Graham Sneed. It was likely designed by architect and general contractor, Abner Hugh Cook, co-owner of the sawmill where Sneed had purchased lumber for the construction of the house. Cook is most notable for designing the Texas Governor's Mansion in Austin.

Easton Park, also referred to as the Pilot Knob planned unit development, is a 2,214-acre (896 ha) Planned unit development (PUD) in the southeast portion of the city of Austin, Texas, United States. The master-planned community is currently being developed within the Pilot Knob MUD which had been under review since 2012.

Colton is an unincorporated community in Travis County, in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 50 in 2000. It is located within the Greater Austin metropolitan area.
