Korendijk

Piershil is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Hoeksche Waard, and lies about 5 km south of Spijkenisse.

The Spui is a small tidal river in South Holland in the Netherlands, connecting the river Oude Maas and the Haringvliet estuary, separating the islands of Voorne-Putten and Hoeksche Waard. Historically, it forked off the Oude Maas at the town of Oud-Beijerland to end in the Haringvliet, but as a (planned) result from the Delta Works, its flow has been reversed. The Spui emerged as a result of a levee breach during the All Saints' Flood of 1532, a storm surge that permanently altered the surrounding landscape. There are no bridges or tunnels crossing the Spui, but there is a car ferry from Hekelingen (municipality Nissewaard) to Nieuw-Beijerland (municipality Hoeksche Waard), and a pedestrian and bicycle ferry between Oud-Beijerland and Rhoon (in Albrandswaard).

Zwartsluisje is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Hoeksche Waard and lies about 7 km (4 mi) south of Spijkenisse. Zwartsluisje is not a statistical entity, and considered part of Zuid-Beijerland and Piershil. It has place name signs, and consists of about 115 houses.

Schuddebeurs en Simonshaven is a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. It was located about 4 km southwest of the town of Spijkenisse, and covered the two polders Schuddebeurs and Simonshaven, including the (still existing) village of Simonshaven. The municipality existed between 1817 and 1855, when it became part of Geervliet.

Nieuw-Beijerland is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Hoeksche Waard, and lies about 3 km south of Spijkenisse.

Goudswaard is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland, located on the westernmost tip of the Hoeksche Waard, approximately 6 km south-west of Spijkenisse. Goudswaard was a separate municipality from 1817 until 1984, when it was merged with Nieuw-Beijerland, Zuid-Beijerland and Piershil to form the municipality of Korendijk.

De Akkers (Dutch pronunciation: [də ˈʔɑkərs]) is the most southwestern subway station of the Rotterdam Metro and is located in the Dutch city of Spijkenisse. The station, with one island platform, opened on 25 April 1985 as a terminus of the North-South Line (also formerly called Erasmus line), nowadays line D. Since the extension of the East-West Line (Caland line) opened on 4 November 2002, the station also serves as terminus of that line. The station is named for the adjacent neighbourhood and is located on top of its shopping mall.

Simonshaven is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Nissewaard, and lies about 4 km southwest of Spijkenisse. In 2001, the village of Simonshaven had 231 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.06 km², and contained 103 residences. The somewhat larger statistical area of Simonshaven has a population of around 290.Until 2015, Simonshaven was part of Bernisse. The poet Augusta Peaux was born in Simonshaven, where her father was a preacher.

The Hoekse Waard (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦuksə ˈʋaːrt]; pre-1947 spelling: Hoeksche Waard) is an island between the Oude Maas, Dordtsche Kil, Hollands Diep, Haringvliet and Spui rivers in the province of South Holland in the Netherlands. The island, part of the namesake municipality of Hoeksche Waard, is a mostly agricultural region, south of the outskirts of Rotterdam. The Hoeksche Waard consists of reclaimed land (polders): after the Saint Elisabeth flood of 1421 most of the area was flooded. The land has been reclaimed gradually in the following centuries.

Heemraadlaan is one of three (above-ground) subway stations in the Dutch city of Spijkenisse. The station is the penultimate stop for trains of Rotterdam Metro lines C and D and features two side platforms. The station is named for the large thoroughfare above which it is built. The station was opened on 25 April 1985. On that date, the North-South Line (currently operated by line D trains) was extended from its former terminus, Zalmplaat station, towards its current terminus, De Akkers station. Since the East-West Line was connected to the North-South Line in November 2002, trains of what is currently line C also call at the station.

Nieuwendijk is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Hoeksche Waard and lies about 9 km south of Spijkenisse. Nieuwendijk was severely damaged during the North Sea flood of 1953, and 36 emergency houses were donated by Norway to the village. It has a little church, but it has been vacant since 2018.Nieuwendijk is not a statistical entity, and considered part of Zuid-Beijerland and Goudswaard. It has no place name signs, and consists of about 150 houses.

Nissewaard (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈnɪsəˌʋaːrt]) is a municipality in the Netherlands, located on the island of Voorne-Putten, in the south of the province of South Holland. It was created through a merger of the municipalities of Spijkenisse and Bernisse on 1 January 2015. Nissewaard has a population of about 85,000 as of 2014.
