Slemdal (station)

Engerjordet is a former light rail station on the Holmenkollen Line in Oslo, Norway. It opened in 1898, to serve the resident Holmenkolbanen's executives. The station had a simple wooden platform and saw limited patronage. It was closed in 1935.

Slemdal is a neighborhood in the borough of Vestre Aker in Oslo, Norway. The neighborhood lies south of Vettakollen, and was built up from the 1890s. It is served by the Oslo Metro station Slemdal. The local sports team is IL Heming. The mausoleum of Emanuel Vigeland is located at Slemdal. Vigeland called it Tomba Emmanuelle.

Gulleråsen is a station on the Holmenkollen Line (Line 1) of the Oslo Metro. It is between Vettakollen and Gråkammen. The station was opened on 31 May 1898 as part of the tramway to Besserud. Gulleråsen lies in a tight 80 m radius curve, and there was a snag when the line was upgraded to handle MX3000 trains. When the line was tested with the new stock, it was found that the gap between the inbound platform edge and train door was 54 cm, this is unacceptably wide for safety reasons. As a result, the station is only served by outbound trains. From 12 January 2011, a replacement bus between Gulleråsen and Slemdal 750 metres away was implemented following pressure from residents. The bus has been criticized for low passenger numbers and each passenger is subsidized with about NOK 300. A possible resolution is to only open the last door in the trainset, but this requires modifications to the MX3000.

Ris (formerly written Riis) is an affluent neighborhood in the borough of Vestre Aker in the West End of Oslo, Norway. It has its origins in Ris farm, which is known from medieval times. Crofts under Ris farm include Trosterud and Slemdal. In 1898 the Holmenkollen Line was opened, and went past Ris. The farming area was subsequently parcelled out and built up. The area is currently served by Ris station. Ris Church, designed by Carl Berner, was inaugurated in 1932.

The Romanesque Revival style church is situated in a neighborhood of Ris in the borough of Vestre Aker in Oslo.The church was built in the spring of 1932 and was consecrated on 12 June 1932. The costs amounted to 723,000 Norwegian krones, including donations, for a sum of 284,000. The church originally had about 750 seats, but after a few benches in the back and the church gallery were removed it now has approximately 500 seats.Because of the shape of the plot, the Ris Church is oriented north–south, unlike most churches that are oriented west–east. The stained glass art is by artist and glass maker, Per Vigeland (1904–1968). Over the chancel of the church, hangs a figure of Christ by sculptor Sigri Welhaven. In 1932, Hugo Lous Mohr painted the altarpiece, titled Christ and the little children.Ris Church has 3 church bells dating from 1930, all of which bear the inscription Riis kirke – Anno 1930. The bells were designed by the architect Carl Berner and were forged by the Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry (Olsen Nauen Klokkestøperi) in Sem. The largest bell weighs 1746 kg and is tuned in D♯. It was at one time the largest bell that was cast in Norway. The medium-sized bell weighs 892 kg and is tuned in F♯. The smallest bell weighs 550 kg and is tuned in A♭.

Gråkammen is a station on the Holmenkollen Line (Line 1) of the Oslo Metro. It is located between Gulleråsen and Slemdal. The station was opened on 31 May 1898 as part of the tramway to Besserud. It derives its name from the surrounding hillocks (Gråkammen is Norwegian for Grey Ridge).

Vettakollen is a station on the Holmenkollen Line (line 1) of the Oslo Metro. It is located between Skådalen and Gulleråsen. The station was opened on 31 May 1898 as part of the light rail to Holmenkollen. The station was originally opened as Greveveien, but changed its name a few months after the opening.

Ris is a rapid transit station of the Oslo Metro's Holmenkollen Line. It is situated in the Ris neighborhood of the Oslo, Norway, borough of Vestre Aker. Located 5.2 kilometers (3.2 mi) from Stortinget, the station is served by Line 1 of the metro every fifteen minutes. Travel time to Stortinget is 11 minutes. The station opened on 31 May 1898. A shed was moved to the station in 1916. There are proposals to extend the platforms.

Villa Stenersen in Oslo is drawn by architect Arne Korsmo for the financier, art collector and authour Rolf Stenersen and his family in 1939. The house were intended to serve both as a residence and as a gallery for his large art collection, and is considered as one of the main works of architecture in the Norwegian functionalism style. It is also the only Norwegian member of Iconic Houses. At the moment, it is in the middle of a restoration process headed by Statsbygg, in collaboration with the National Gallery and the Stenersen family. The villa is operated by the National Gallery of Norway and is open to the public every Sunday during the summer half of the year.

Vinderen is a neighbourhood in the Vestre Aker borough of Oslo, Norway. It was a separate borough until 1 January 2004, when it was incorporated into the newly established borough of Vestre Aker. Its amenities include Vinderen station. The prosperous avenue of Tuengen Allé in Vinderen was the childhood home of Queen Sonja of Norway at 1B; and the current embassy of China in Norway at 2B. During 2015 will the Queens childhood home be moved to Maihaugen in Lillehammer.10C Tuengen Alle is the functionalist Villa Stenersen, designed by architect Arne Korsmo and was built from 1937 to 1939 for the financier, art collector, and author Rolf Stenersen and his family. Stenerson bequeathed the Villa Stenersen to the State of Norway as a home for the Prime Minister. Odvar Nordli lived in the house, but the building has since been used for cultural purposes.
