Ris Church (Ris kirke) is a church in Oslo, Norway. The Romanesque Revival style church is situated in a neighborhood of Ris in the borough of Vestre Aker in Oslo.The church was built in the spring of 1932 and was consecrated on 12 June 1932. The costs amounted to 723,000 Norwegian krones, including donations, for a sum of 284,000. The church originally had about 750 seats, but after a few benches in the back and the church gallery were removed it now has approximately 500 seats.Because of the shape of the plot, the Ris Church is oriented north–south, unlike most churches that are oriented west–east. The stained glass art is by artist and glass maker, Per Vigeland (1904–1968). Over the chancel of the church, hangs a figure of Christ by sculptor Sigri Welhaven. In 1932, Hugo Lous Mohr painted the altarpiece, titled Christ and the little children.Ris Church has 3 church bells dating from 1930, all of which bear the inscription Riis kirke – Anno 1930. The bells were designed by the architect Carl Berner and were forged by the Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry (Olsen Nauen Klokkestøperi) in Sem. The largest bell weighs 1746 kg and is tuned in D♯. It was at one time the largest bell that was cast in Norway. The medium-sized bell weighs 892 kg and is tuned in F♯. The smallest bell weighs 550 kg and is tuned in A♭.

Ris (formerly written Riis) is an affluent neighborhood in the borough of Vestre Aker in the West End of Oslo, Norway. It has its origins in Ris farm, which is known from medieval times. Crofts under Ris farm include Trosterud and Slemdal. In 1898 the Holmenkollen Line was opened, and went past Ris. The farming area was subsequently parcelled out and built up. The area is currently served by Ris station. Ris Church, designed by Carl Berner, was inaugurated in 1932.

Vinderen is a rapid transit station of the Oslo Metro's Holmenkollen Line. It is situated Vinderen neighborhood of the Oslo, Norway, borough of Vestre Aker. Located 4.2 kilometers (2.6 mi) from Stortinget, the station is served by Line 1 of the metro every fifteen minutes. Travel time to Stortinget is nine minutes. Vinderen is neighborhood center and mostly a residential area. The platforms are located on each side of a level crossing. The station opened with the line on 31 May 1898. A station building was erected in 1913, becoming the headquarters for the operator Holmenkolbanen. It became disused in the 1960s and demolished in 1971. Ruter is considering lowering the tracks to remove the level crossing, which would result in a new station layout under the overpass.

Vinderen is a neighbourhood in the Vestre Aker borough of Oslo, Norway. It was a separate borough until 1 January 2004, when it was incorporated into the newly established borough of Vestre Aker. Its amenities include Vinderen station. The prosperous avenue of Tuengen Allé in Vinderen was the childhood home of Queen Sonja of Norway at 1B; and the current embassy of China in Norway at 2B. During 2015 will the Queens childhood home be moved to Maihaugen in Lillehammer.10C Tuengen Alle is the functionalist Villa Stenersen, designed by architect Arne Korsmo and was built from 1937 to 1939 for the financier, art collector, and author Rolf Stenersen and his family. Stenerson bequeathed the Villa Stenersen to the State of Norway as a home for the Prime Minister. Odvar Nordli lived in the house, but the building has since been used for cultural purposes.

Slemdal is a neighborhood in the borough of Vestre Aker in Oslo, Norway. The neighborhood lies south of Vettakollen, and was built up from the 1890s. It is served by the Oslo Metro station Slemdal. The local sports team is IL Heming. The mausoleum of Emanuel Vigeland is located at Slemdal. Vigeland called it Tomba Emmanuelle.

Gaustad is a rapid transit station of the Oslo Metro's Holmenkollen Line. It is situated Gausad neighborhood of the Oslo, Norway, borough of Vestre Aker. Located 4.7 kilometers (2.9 mi) from Stortinget, the station is served by Line 1 of the metro every fifteen minutes. Travel time to Stortinget is ten minutes. The National Hospital and several research institutes fall within the station's catchment area. The station opened on 31 May 1898. A station building was constructed in 1903, and served as a waiting room until 1916. From then a waiting shed was used. The station is being considered for a lengthening of the platforms, but this is difficult due to it being located in a sharp curve.

Engerjordet is a former light rail station on the Holmenkollen Line in Oslo, Norway. It opened in 1898, to serve the resident Holmenkolbanen's executives. The station had a simple wooden platform and saw limited patronage. It was closed in 1935.

Gråkammen is a station on the Holmenkollen Line (Line 1) of the Oslo Metro. It is located between Gulleråsen and Slemdal. The station was opened on 31 May 1898 as part of the tramway to Besserud. It derives its name from the surrounding hillocks (Gråkammen is Norwegian for Grey Ridge).

Steinerud is a rapid transit station of the Oslo Metro's Holmenkollen Line. It is situated in the Steinerud neighborhood of the Oslo, Norway, borough of Vestre Aker. Located 3.8 kilometers (2.4 mi) from Stortinget, the station is served by Line 1 of the metro every fifteen minutes. Travel time to Stortinget is seven minutes. Diakonhjemmet Hospital falls within the station's catchment area. The station opened in 1900. Originally named Diakonhjemmet, it received a station building in Swiss chalet style. It took the current name in 1936. With an average 196 weekday boarding passengers, Steinerud is among the least-used station of the metro. Ruter has proposed closing the station and replacing it and Frøen with a new one closer to the hospital.

Gaustad is a neighborhood in Nordre Aker borough of Oslo, Norway. It is located between Vinderen and Kringsjå. At Gaustad are The National Hospital and Gaustad Hospital, as well as residential areas that border to Nordmarka. The area is served by Rikshospitalet Station on the Ullevål Hageby Line of Oslo Tramway, and Gaustad Station on the Holmenkoll Line of Oslo T-bane. Ring 3 runs through the neighborhood.

Oslo University Hospital, Rikshospitalet is one of the four main campuses of Oslo University Hospital in Oslo, Norway. It was an independent hospital, Rigshospitalet, later spelled Rikshospitalet ("The National Hospital"), from 1826 to 2009, when it merged with other university hospitals in Oslo. It is a highly specialized university hospital with special assignments in research and the development of new methods of treatment. Rikshospitalet is a part of Southern and Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority, and is affiliated with the University of Oslo. About 60% of the patients admitted to Rikshospitalet are referred from other hospitals in Norway for more specialized investigations and treatment. In Norway, Rikshospitalet plays an important part with expert knowledge of the treatment of rare and complicated disorders. Rikshospitalet covers the whole country in various fields, including organ and bone marrow transplants, advanced neurosurgery, and treatment of children with congenital malformations. Rikshospitalet is also responsible for health care to the Norwegian Royal Family. Rikshospitalet had 585 beds as of 2005. It is renowned for its architecture. Rikshospitalet merged in 2005 with the Norwegian Radium Hospital to create Rikshospitalet–Radiumhospitalet. The English form of the name was The University Hospital Rikshospitalet-Radiumhospitalet. Later (in October 2007) the notation was changed to "Rikshospitalet HF" (Rikshospitalet University Hospital HF) and that name now covers what used to be 12 different governmental hospitals (Rikshospitalet, Radiumhospitalet, Geilomo, Strålesatelitt ved Sykehuset Innlandet, Hjertesenteret i Oslo, Epilepsisenteret SSE, Spesialsykehuset for rehabilitering i Stavern, Voksentoppen, Spesialsykehuset for rehabilitering i Kristiansand, Nordagutu opptreningssenter og kvinneklinikken Føderiket), each with their own specialities and now under the same "branding". The hospital is the last stop on the Ullevål Hageby Line of the Oslo Tramway. Rikshospitalet Station is served by lines 17 and 18. Oslo Heliport, Rikshospitalet (ICAO: ENRH) consists of a 20.55-meter (67.4 ft) diameter helipad 20 meters (66 ft) from the emergency department.
