Vinderen

Vinderen is a rapid transit station of the Oslo Metro's Holmenkollen Line. It is situated Vinderen neighborhood of the Oslo, Norway, borough of Vestre Aker. Located 4.2 kilometers (2.6 mi) from Stortinget, the station is served by Line 1 of the metro every fifteen minutes. Travel time to Stortinget is nine minutes. Vinderen is neighborhood center and mostly a residential area. The platforms are located on each side of a level crossing. The station opened with the line on 31 May 1898. A station building was erected in 1913, becoming the headquarters for the operator Holmenkolbanen. It became disused in the 1960s and demolished in 1971. Ruter is considering lowering the tracks to remove the level crossing, which would result in a new station layout under the overpass.

Located 3.8 kilometers (2.4 mi) from Stortinget, the station is served by Line 1 of the metro every fifteen minutes. Travel time to Stortinget is seven minutes. Diakonhjemmet Hospital falls within the station's catchment area. The station opened in 1900. Originally named Diakonhjemmet, it received a station building in Swiss chalet style. It took the current name in 1936. With an average 196 weekday boarding passengers, Steinerud is among the least-used station of the metro. Ruter has proposed closing the station and replacing it and Frøen with a new one closer to the hospital.

Located 5.2 kilometers (3.2 mi) from Stortinget, the station is served by Line 1 of the metro every fifteen minutes. Travel time to Stortinget is 11 minutes. The station opened on 31 May 1898. A shed was moved to the station in 1916. There are proposals to extend the platforms.

Ris Church (Ris kirke) is a church in Oslo, Norway. The Romanesque Revival style church is situated in a neighborhood of Ris in the borough of Vestre Aker in Oslo.The church was built in the spring of 1932 and was consecrated on 12 June 1932. The costs amounted to 723,000 Norwegian krones, including donations, for a sum of 284,000. The church originally had about 750 seats, but after a few benches in the back and the church gallery were removed it now has approximately 500 seats.Because of the shape of the plot, the Ris Church is oriented north–south, unlike most churches that are oriented west–east. The stained glass art is by artist and glass maker, Per Vigeland (1904–1968). Over the chancel of the church, hangs a figure of Christ by sculptor Sigri Welhaven. In 1932, Hugo Lous Mohr painted the altarpiece, titled Christ and the little children.Ris Church has 3 church bells dating from 1930, all of which bear the inscription Riis kirke – Anno 1930. The bells were designed by the architect Carl Berner and were forged by the Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry (Olsen Nauen Klokkestøperi) in Sem. The largest bell weighs 1746 kg and is tuned in D♯. It was at one time the largest bell that was cast in Norway. The medium-sized bell weighs 892 kg and is tuned in F♯. The smallest bell weighs 550 kg and is tuned in A♭.

Ris (formerly written Riis) is an affluent neighborhood in the borough of Vestre Aker in the West End of Oslo, Norway. It has its origins in Ris farm, which is known from medieval times. Crofts under Ris farm include Trosterud and Slemdal. In 1898 the Holmenkollen Line was opened, and went past Ris. The farming area was subsequently parcelled out and built up. The area is currently served by Ris station. Ris Church, designed by Carl Berner, was inaugurated in 1932.

The VID Specialized University (Norwegian: VID vitenskapelige høgskole) is a Norwegian accredited, private, non-profit specialized university headquartered in Oslo. VID has 6,000 students and nearly 700 employees. It is one of three private specialized universities in Norway, alongside BI and MF.VID is a subsidiary of the foundation Diakonhjemmet, an independent and non-profit diaconal institution within the Lutheran state Church of Norway. VID was established in 2016 through a merger of Diakonhjemmet University College with several smaller colleges with a history dating back to 1843. Campus Diakonhjemmet, which is VID's headquarters and largest campus, is located in Frøen in Oslo next to Diakonhjemmet Hospital, also owned by Diakonhjemmet. The first rector of VID was Ingunn Moser. VID conducts research and offers studies from bachelor's to doctoral level in health and social sciences, theology and management. VID has around 50 study programmes, including three doctoral programmes. The traditional core activity is nurse education, which is still the largest study programme and carried out in cooperation with Diakonhjemmet Hospital and other hospitals. It also offers degrees at all levels in social work disciplines. The university also offers the professional six-year degree in theology (cand.theol.) that qualifies for the priesthood in the state Church of Norway.

Gaustad is a neighborhood in Nordre Aker borough of Oslo, Norway. It is located between Vinderen and Kringsjå. At Gaustad are The National Hospital and Gaustad Hospital, as well as residential areas that border to Nordmarka. The area is served by Rikshospitalet Station on the Ullevål Hageby Line of Oslo Tramway, and Gaustad Station on the Holmenkoll Line of Oslo T-bane. Ring 3 runs through the neighborhood.

Villa Stenersen in Oslo is drawn by architect Arne Korsmo for the financier, art collector and authour Rolf Stenersen and his family in 1939. The house were intended to serve both as a residence and as a gallery for his large art collection, and is considered as one of the main works of architecture in the Norwegian functionalism style. It is also the only Norwegian member of Iconic Houses. At the moment, it is in the middle of a restoration process headed by Statsbygg, in collaboration with the National Gallery and the Stenersen family. The villa is operated by the National Gallery of Norway and is open to the public every Sunday during the summer half of the year.

Located 4.7 kilometers (2.9 mi) from Stortinget, the station is served by Line 1 of the metro every fifteen minutes. Travel time to Stortinget is ten minutes. The National Hospital and several research institutes fall within the station's catchment area. The station opened on 31 May 1898. A station building was constructed in 1903, and served as a waiting room until 1916. From then a waiting shed was used. The station is being considered for a lengthening of the platforms, but this is difficult due to it being located in a sharp curve.

Engerjordet is a former light rail station on the Holmenkollen Line in Oslo, Norway. It opened in 1898, to serve the resident Holmenkolbanen's executives. The station had a simple wooden platform and saw limited patronage. It was closed in 1935.

Slemdal is a neighborhood in the borough of Vestre Aker in Oslo, Norway. The neighborhood lies south of Vettakollen, and was built up from the 1890s. It is served by the Oslo Metro station Slemdal. The local sports team is IL Heming. The mausoleum of Emanuel Vigeland is located at Slemdal. Vigeland called it Tomba Emmanuelle.
