Sätraån

Skärholmen is a borough (stadsdelsområde) of Söderort in the southern part of Stockholm.

Skärholmen is a suburban area in the district of Söderort in south-western Stockholm, Sweden. Together with Bredäng, Sätra and Vårberg, it forms the borough of Skärholmen. The community primarily consisting of Million Programme style apartment buildings from the 1960s and early 1970s. It is one of the larger and more well known suburbs of Stockholm. Skärholmen Centrum (also known as SKHLM), one of the biggest shopping centres in Sweden is situated in Skärholmen.

Skärholmen metro station is a station on the red line of the Stockholm metro, located in the district of Skärholmen. The station was opened on 1 March 1967 as the south terminus of an extension from Sätra. The distance to Slussen is 11.7 km (7.3 mi). Skärholmen is the closest metro station to the Kungens Kurva area and its adjacent retail park. It is also expected to become an interchange station with the future Spårväg syd light rail line from 2031.

Skärholmen Centrum, also known and contracted as SKHLM, is a shopping center located in the Skärholmen borough of Stockholm in Sweden. The mall has a total gross leasable area of 98,000 m2 (1,050,000 sq ft), including of public services, and is anchored by ICA, Systembolaget, H&M and Åhléns. It was inaugurated in 1968 by Prince Bertil, Duke of Halland and has been refurbished a number of times, most notably in 2008, when it was reopened by King Carl XVI Gustav. It's one of five malls owned by the Grosvenor Group in Sweden, and attracts approximately 14 million visitors annually, with an annual turnover of SEK 2 billion.

Vårberg is a station in the Stockholm metro in the neighbourhood Vårberg in Söderort, Stockholm Municipality. The station was opened on 2 December 1967 as the south terminus of an extension from Skärholmen. On 1 October 1972, the line was extended to Fittja. Vårberg is part of Line 13 of the Red Line. The distance to Slussen is 12.6 km (7.8 mi). As part of Art in the Stockholm metro project, the station features ceramic wall works entitled In our hands, created by Maria Ängquist Klyvare in 1996.

Kungshatt (Swedish pronunciation: [kɵŋsˈhatː]) is a small island in Lake Mälaren, Stockholm, Sweden. Roughly 1.9 square kilometers in area, it has a very small year-round population, and a number of summer houses. The island has an independent water supply, but receives its electricity from the mainland. The island is named after the copper hat put in place on top of a cliff facing towards Vårberg. According to legend, a Swedish king jumped off the cliff while fleeing from his enemies, dropping his hat in the process.

Sätra metro station is a station on the red line of Stockholm metro, located in the district of Sätra. The station was opened on 16 May 1965 as the southwest terminus of the extension from Örnsberg. On 1 March 1967, the line was extended to Skärholmen. The distance to Slussen is 10.3 km (6.4 mi).

Kungens Kurva (literally, "The King's Bend" or "The King's Curve") is a part of Huddinge Municipality, in Metropolitan Stockholm, Sweden, 20 km south of the city. The area got its name on 28 September 1946, when King Gustav V's chauffeur-driven 1939 Cadillac skidded off the road and ended up in a ditch (The king was uninjured). The name later became official. The area has a large retail park, with stores such as supermarkets, electronics/hardware retailers and the world's third largest IKEA store, with, since a 2014 expansion, a total area of 63,200 square meters. It is close to Skärholmen metro station, which provides access to Stockholm.

Vårby gård is a station in the Stockholm metro in the Vårby district of Huddinge Municipality. The station was opened on 1 October 1972 as part of the extension from Vårberg to Fittja.As part of Art in the Stockholm metro project, the station features a Flora mural, created by Rolf Bergström 1999.On 7 January 2018, an explosion just outside the station killed a man in his 60s and injured his wife. The man is believed to have picked up a suspected hand grenade from the ground. There was no evidence it was related to terrorism or that the couple were targeted.

Bredäng is a district of Söderort, Stockholm, Sweden. In the southwest section of the city, it is a part of the Skärholmen borough and is named after a former farm in the area. Bredäng has an 18th-century mansion (Jakobsbergs gård) named after its first owner, Jacob Graver. Bredäng consists predominantly of 1960s apartment blocks and has a camping site by the lake Mälaren. The population of Bredäng is 9,266. 60.4% of the population had a foreign background.
