La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample is a neighborhood in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain). Originally it formed a single unit, called Esquerra de l'Eixample, with the current neighborhood l'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample. In this neighborhood there are the Can Batlló's three buildings (currently the Industrial School), the former prison La Model, the park Parc Joan Miró, located in the emplacement of the former city's slaughterhouse, the bullfighting ring Les Arenes, which is nowadays a commercial center, and the Casa Golferichs. Due to its considerable Romanian migrant population, La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample has been defined as a "Little Romania".

Carrer d'Entença (official Catalan name; known in Spanish as Calle Entenza) is a street in Barcelona, situated in the left half (Esquerra de l'Eixample) of the Eixample district's grid plan. It's named after House of Entença nobleman Berenguer d'Entença i Montcada, who captained a number of expeditions towards the East in the 13th century. The naming was approved on December 19, 1863 and was already plan of Ildefons Cerdà's urban plan, even though under the tentative name of "15th street". In 1925 it was extended, reaching Avinguda Diagonal, beyond which it becomes Carrer del Doctor Fleming.

Hospital Clínic is a station in the Barcelona Metro network, named after the Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona which lies in its immediate vicinity, in the Eixample district of Barcelona. It serves line 5. The station, which opened in 1969, is part of the central section of L5. It is located under Carrer Rosselló, between Carrer del Comte d'Urgell and Carrer de Villarroel.

Entença is a station on line 5 of the Barcelona Metro. The station is located underneath Carrer Rosselló in the Eixample, between Carrer Entença and Carrer Rocafort. It was opened in 1969. The side-platform station has a ticket hall on either end, the eastern one with one access at Carrer Rocafort, the western one with one access at Entença.

Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, officially Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona, is a university hospital founded in 1906 and based in Barcelona. It opened its doors on December 23, 1906, with a capacity of 400 patients, some of which were moved from Hospital de la Santa Creu. It is currently part of the Catalan Health Service. It has been awarded by IASIST for 10 consecutive years as a top 20 hospital in Spain. A private study conducted in 2009 ranked it as one of the top four national and regional hospitals in Spain, including all public and private facilities. In 2020 it was ranked by Newsweek as the best hospital in Spain and one of the 25 best in the world.It is located on the left side of the Eixample and serves as a university hospital of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona with which it forms a functional unit. Due to its university character, its healthcare activity is complemented by its dedication to teaching and medical research.The population assigned as a community hospital, together with Hospital Plató and the Clínica Sagrat Cor, is 540,000. It also works as a complex tertiary hospital, developing lines of activity for patients in Spain and internationally.

Rocafort is a Barcelona Metro station, named after the Carrer de Rocafort, in the Eixample district of the city of Barcelona. The station is served by line L1.The station is located under the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes between the Carrer de Rocafort and the Carrer de Calàbria. The station can be accessed from entrances on the Gran Via, the Carrer de Rocafort and the Carrer de Calàbria. It has twin tracks, flanked by two 88-metre (289 ft) long side platforms.Rocafort is on the original section of line L1 (then the Ferrocarril Metropolitano Transversal de Barcelona) between Catalunya and Bordeta stations, which was opened in 1926.

Dona i Ocell ([ˈdɔ.nə i uˈseʎ], "Woman and Bird") is a 22-metre high sculpture by Joan Miró located in the Parc Joan Miró in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The sculpture was covered in tiles by the artist's collaborator Joan Gardy Artigas. The sculpture is part of an artwork trilogy commissioned from Miró to welcome visitors to Barcelona.

Camp de la Indústria (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈkam də lə inˈdustɾiə]) or Campo de la calle Indústria was a multi-use stadium in Barcelona, Spain. It was initially used as the home venue of FC Barcelona, until the team moved to Camp de Les Corts in 1922. The capacity of the stadium was 6,000 spectators. The stadium is regarded as the main element that helped the club grow in the 1910s.

Carrer de Tarragona is a street in Barcelona. A long street lined with high-rises, it serves as the border between Hostafrancs, in the district of Sants-Montjuïc, and Eixample. This street runs from Plaça d'Espanya towards Plaça dels Països Catalans, the location of the Barcelona Sants railway station. The Parc de Joan Miró is on one of the sides of the road. It's named after Tarragona, the capital of one of the four provinces of Catalonia. The street was given its current name in 1900, but originally Ildefons Cerdà had intended to call it Núm. 12, owing to his numerical naming system.

Cárcel Modelo, also known as Cárcel Celular, was the main prison for men in Madrid at the turn of the 20th century. Located in the Moncloa-Aravaca district, it was inaugurated in 1884 after seven years of construction and replaced the 18th century Cárcel del Saladero. The name "Modelo" derived from its standing as a model for other Spanish prisons. The prison operated through 1939, when it was shuttered and demolished after being damaged during the Spanish Civil War.
