Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, officially Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona, is a university hospital founded in 1906 and based in Barcelona. It opened its doors on December 23, 1906, with a capacity of 400 patients, some of which were moved from Hospital de la Santa Creu. It is currently part of the Catalan Health Service. It has been awarded by IASIST for 10 consecutive years as a top 20 hospital in Spain. A private study conducted in 2009 ranked it as one of the top four national and regional hospitals in Spain, including all public and private facilities. In 2020 it was ranked by Newsweek as the best hospital in Spain and one of the 25 best in the world.It is located on the left side of the Eixample and serves as a university hospital of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona with which it forms a functional unit. Due to its university character, its healthcare activity is complemented by its dedication to teaching and medical research.The population assigned as a community hospital, together with Hospital Plató and the Clínica Sagrat Cor, is 540,000. It also works as a complex tertiary hospital, developing lines of activity for patients in Spain and internationally.

Hospital Clínic is a station in the Barcelona Metro network, named after the Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona which lies in its immediate vicinity, in the Eixample district of Barcelona. It serves line 5. The station, which opened in 1969, is part of the central section of L5. It is located under Carrer Rosselló, between Carrer del Comte d'Urgell and Carrer de Villarroel.

The Museum and Study Center of Sport Doctor Melcior Colet (in Catalan, Museu i Centre d'Estudis de l'Esport Doctor Melcior Colet ) is a facility dedicated to the promotion and exhibition of the most prominent in the development of the history of the sport in Catalonia in recent centuries. It is based in an Art Nouveau house built in 1911 by Josep Puig i Cadafalch the Casa Pere Company, which is located in Buenos Aires street, 56, Barcelona . In 1982, Dr. Melcior Colet i Torrabadella gave the building to Generalitat of Catalonia to transform it into a museum. On 13 December 1991 it introduced the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Official Commemorative Medals.

Plaça de Francesc Macià (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈplasə ðə fɾənˈsɛzɡ məsiˈa]) is a square in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Located in one of the main business areas of the city, it is one of the most transited points of Barcelona. It is crossed by Avinguda Diagonal and several other major thoroughfares: Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas, Travessera de Gràcia, Carrer del Comte d'Urgell and Avinguda de Pau Casals. It is part of the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district, even though it borders two other districts of Barcelona: Les Corts and Eixample. It is named after Francesc Macià (1859-1933), Catalan president during the Second Spanish Republic who proclaimed a short-lived Catalan Republic. The central part of the square contains a pond modelled after the shape of Menorca, the birthplace of its architect, Nicolau Rubió i Tudurí, as well as feminine sculpture called Joventut ("youth") designed by Josep Manuel Benedicto, added in 1953. Spanish-language newspaper La Vanguardia is based in Avinguda Diagonal 477, within square limits.

Sants is a neighbourhood in the southern part of Barcelona. It belongs to the district of Sants-Montjuïc and is bordered by the districts of Eixample to the northeast, Les Corts to the northwest, and by the municipality of l'Hospitalet de Llobregat to the south. Although old-fashioned, its name is sometimes still written as Sans in some Spanish-language sources. The main artery of the neighbourhood is Carrer de Sants, popularly known as Carretera de Sants, which runs westwards from Plaça Espanya to the neighbouring municipality of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. It is one of the largest commercial streets in Barcelona. Barcelona Sants railway station, the major railway station in Barcelona, and the Parc de l'Espanya Industrial are both located in Sants.

La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample is a neighborhood in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain). Originally it formed a single unit, called Esquerra de l'Eixample, with the current neighborhood l'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample. In this neighborhood there are the Can Batlló's three buildings (currently the Industrial School), the former prison La Model, the park Parc Joan Miró, located in the emplacement of the former city's slaughterhouse, the bullfighting ring Les Arenes, which is nowadays a commercial center, and the Casa Golferichs. Due to its considerable Romanian migrant population, La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample has been defined as a "Little Romania".

Francesc Macià is a Trambaix station and a projected metro station located in the Plaça de Francesc Macià, Barcelona, crossed by the Avinguda Diagonal, in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district. This stop is the terminal for the three Trambaix routes (T1, T2 and T3). Also it is planned to be a Barcelona Metro station, which is due to be served by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) L8, as part of the station's enlargement towards Gràcia. It would be located on the Plaça de Francesc Macià, in the district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. Since this area is one of the few left without a direct metro connection after the completion of L9 and L10, it has been demanded by the neighbours and has featured in some of the ambitious proposals for transportation in the city since the 1960s. Namely in the projects for a line VI and for a Diagonal line.The current project to enlarge line L8 would connect that line with the Trambaix tram system, and it would connect Plaça d'Espanya and some areas of the metropolitan area of Barcelona it goes through with this square.
