Mardyck

Loon-Plage (French pronunciation: ​[lɔn plaʒ]; Dutch: Loon) is a commune in the Nord department in northern France.

The Coudekerque-Branche–Fontinettes railway runs along the English Channel and North Sea coast of France from a junction near Coudekerque-Branche station in Dunkirk to a junction near Les Fontinettes station in Calais. It is 41.159 kilometres (25.575 miles) long and AC electrified single track for much of its length, except for the first 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) from Dunkirk which is double track electrified with 25 kV 50 Hz. Line speeds are from 80 km/h (50 mph) to 120 km/h (75 mph). There is a movable bridge over the Aa at Gravelines to allow navigation of the river. The line is used by local trains between Calais and Dunkirk.

Since 9 December 2010, it is part of the commune of Dunkirk. In 2019 it had 20,250 inhabitants. It is the second-largest suburb of the city of Dunkirk, and is almost encircled by it.

Petite-Synthe (French pronunciation: [pətit sɛ̃t]; West Flemish: Klein-Sinten) is a former commune of the Nord département in northern France. The commune of Saint-Pol-sur-Mer was created in 1877, by its territory being detached from Petite-Synthe. In 1971 the commune of Dunkerque absorbed Petite-Synthe and Rosendaël. In 1980, a large part of Petite-Synthe was detached from Dunkerque and merged into Grande-Synthe.

Saint-Georges-sur-l'Aa (French pronunciation: ​[sɛ̃ ʒɔʁʒ syʁ la], literally Saint-Georges on the Aa; Dutch: Sint-Joris-aan-de-Aa) is a commune in the Nord department in northern France.
