Pleasant Hill High School is a public school in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, United States, serving grades six through twelve. The school served grades nine through twelve until 2009, when the Pleasant Hill School District closed the district's elementary school because of declining enrollment and funding issues. The students were redistributed, K-5 going to the middle school buildings and 6-12 going to the high school buildings. The current high school building was constructed in 1961, and rebuilt in 2016.

Emerald Christian Academy, originally called Emerald Junior Academy, is a private Christian school in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, United States. It is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Children from kindergarten to eighth grade may enroll. The first through fourth graders are enrolled in the Accelerated Reader system, and sixth through eighth graders may participate in MathCounts competitions. The school has been accredited by Cognia (formerly AdvancED) as part of the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools since 1994.

Jasper is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is southeast of Springfield on Oregon Route 222, at the confluence of Hills Creek and the Middle Fork Willamette River. Jasper was the site of a siding of the Southern Pacific Railroad's Cascade Line (now part of the Union Pacific Railroad), which was named for local resident Jasper B. Hills, the son of Cornelius Joel Hills, who settled at the locale in 1846. The Jasper post office was established in 1884.Jasper State Recreation Site, a state park, is south of Jasper. Jasper is served by the Pleasant Hill School District.

Mount Pisgah is a hill in Lane County, Oregon, United States, rising 1,060 feet (320 m) above the surrounding Willamette Valley to a maximum elevation of 1,531 feet (467 m). It was named after the biblical Mount Pisgah. It is situated between the Coast Fork and Middle Fork of the Willamette River, two miles (3 km) southeast of their confluence. Springfield is immediately north of Mount Pisgah, and the city of Eugene is a few miles west. It is the site of the 2363-acre (956 hectare) Howard Buford Recreation Area as well as the non-profit Mount Pisgah Arboretum at its base.

Cloverdale is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is approximately 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Creswell on Oregon Route 222.Cloverdale was the site of one of the first sawmills in Lane County, built in 1851. A gristmill was added in 1852. A townsite was laid out at Cloverdale in 1855, but the plat was later canceled. Cloverdale was considered a "thing of the past" as early as 1884. At one time Cloverdale had a store, and a school, and a blacksmith forge. The former Cloverdale Methodist Episcopal Church now serves as a wedding chapel. The church was built in 1904, and later served Baptist and Mennonite congregations and then as a community hall. The building was purchased by the McKinlay family in 1999 and restored. The school building, constructed in 1911, is also still standing.

Laurelwood Academy is a private secondary school affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church near Jasper, Oregon, United States. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. Founded in 1904 in Laurelwood, Oregon, the boarding school moved to a new 20-acre (8.1 ha) campus in rural Lane County outside of Eugene in 2007. The school has grades 9 through 12 and focuses on agriculture in addition to academics.

The Jacob Clearwater House in Springfield, Oregon was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017. It was home to the Clearwater family who transited the Oregon Trail and homesteaded 320 acres (1.3 km2) in 1865 along the Middle Fork of the Willamette River. It was built in 1874 and is one of only four houses from 1874 or before in the Springfield area.It is a Gothic Revival-style house.The listing includes 43 acres (17 ha) of land containing the house and a historic water tower. The water tower is 10 by 10 feet (3.0 m × 3.0 m) in plan.

The Mount Pisgah Arboretum (85 ha / 209 acres) is a non-profit arboretum and botanical garden located within the Howard Buford Recreation Area (930 ha / 2,300 acre), between the Coast Fork of the Willamette River and the slopes of Mount Pisgah near Eugene-Springfield, Oregon, United States. The Friends of Mount Pisgah Arboretum was established in 1973 when it began to construct trails, build bridges, remove invasive species, and publish newsletters. Wildflower and mushroom shows were first held in 1981; staff hiring began in the early 1980s. The arboretum's original mission was to have international plantings, however most of the early international donations were moved off site. This has changed to maintaining Pacific Northwest plant communities, offer environmental education programs, and provide for public enjoyment of its site.The arboretum includes 7 miles (11 km) of riverside trails with 23 bridges, riparian meadows, evergreen forests, a rare section of preserved oak savanna, Douglas-fir and incense-cedar forests on hillsides, a water garden, wildflower meadows, a wooded picnic area, and restrooms. The White Oak Pavilion took the place of the deteriorating quonset hut shelter in 2005. The arboretum's habitats are home to many species of native mosses, lichens, ferns, shrubs, and wildflowers. 67 families, 231 genera, and 339 plant species have been identified on the site. Wildlife includes bats, deer, coyote, foxes, and other small mammals, the endangered western pond turtle, the sensitive species red-legged frog, tree frogs, gopher and garter snakes, and lizards. Birding is a popular activity in the arboretum, which is home to a variety of migratory and resident songbirds, raptors, and waterfowl. The arboretum publishes a bird checklist, as well as a plant checklist, to aid visitors in identifying the local species. Parking is $4 per car and permits can be purchased at a self-service pay station.

Fall Creek is a 34-mile (55 km) tributary of the Middle Fork Willamette River in Lane County in the U.S. state of Oregon. Beginning in the Cascade Range, the creek flows generally west through the Willamette National Forest to enter the Middle Fork upstream of Jasper, southeast of Springfield and Eugene.Along its upper and middle reaches, the creek flows by many campgrounds, picnic sites, a state park, and the Fall Creek National National Recreation Trail. Fall Creek Reservoir is a man-made reservoir where the stream is impounded by Fall Creek Dam. Below the dam, the small communities of Unity and Fall Creek lie along the lower reaches. Two covered bridges carry rural roads over the creek, one at Unity and the other further downstream.

She was consecrated on January 30, 2021, at the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Portland, Oregon. She is the first Japanese-American woman to be ordained a bishop in The Episcopal Church.
