Trent is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in central Lane County, along Rattlesnake Creek, a north-flowing tributary of the Middle Fork Willamette River. The Middle Fork forms the northeast boundary of the CDP. Oregon Route 58 runs through the southern part of Trent, leading northwest 14 miles (23 km) to Eugene, the county seat. To the southeast, Route 58 immediately passes through Dexter and leads 27 miles (43 km) to Oakridge.

Fall Creek is a 34-mile (55 km) tributary of the Middle Fork Willamette River in Lane County in the U.S. state of Oregon. Beginning in the Cascade Range, the creek flows generally west through the Willamette National Forest to enter the Middle Fork upstream of Jasper, southeast of Springfield and Eugene.Along its upper and middle reaches, the creek flows by many campgrounds, picnic sites, a state park, and the Fall Creek National National Recreation Trail. Fall Creek Reservoir is a man-made reservoir where the stream is impounded by Fall Creek Dam. Below the dam, the small communities of Unity and Fall Creek lie along the lower reaches. Two covered bridges carry rural roads over the creek, one at Unity and the other further downstream.

Laurelwood Academy is a private secondary school affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church near Jasper, Oregon, United States. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. Founded in 1904 in Laurelwood, Oregon, the boarding school moved to a new 20-acre (8.1 ha) campus in rural Lane County outside of Eugene in 2007. The school has grades 9 through 12 and focuses on agriculture in addition to academics.

Lost Creek is a tributary of the Middle Fork Willamette River in the U.S. state of Oregon. It begins in the Cascade Range foothills between Dorena Lake and Lookout Point Lake and flows generally north to meet the river downstream of Lowell. Along the way, it passes by the rural community of Dexter, then under Oregon Route 58, and through part of Elijah Bristow State Park. Pleasant Hill High School is a public school in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, United States, serving grades six through twelve. The school served grades nine through twelve until 2009, when the Pleasant Hill School District closed the district's elementary school because of declining enrollment and funding issues. The students were redistributed, K-5 going to the middle school buildings and 6-12 going to the high school buildings. The current high school building was constructed in 1961, and rebuilt in 2016.

The Pengra Bridge is a covered bridge near Jasper in the U.S. state of Oregon. The 120-foot (37 m) Howe truss structure carries Place Road over Fall Creek in Lane County. It replaced an earlier bridge, built in 1904, that crossed the creek a few feet further upstream.Pengra Bridge was named in honor of Byron J. Pengra, a government surveyor. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.The lower chords of the bridge, at 16 by 18 inches (41 by 46 cm) by 126 feet (38 m), are among the longest timbers ever used in an Oregon bridge. Timbers of this size simplified some aspects of construction but required special techniques to finish and position at the site. Other features of the bridge include ribbon windows under the eaves, a side window on one side, and semi-elliptical arched portals.Weather and traffic weakened the bridge over time, and it was temporarily closed in 1979. With the help of state funding from the Oregon Covered Bridge Program, the county repaired the structure, which was re-opened to traffic in 1995.

Jasper is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is southeast of Springfield on Oregon Route 222, at the confluence of Hills Creek and the Middle Fork Willamette River. Jasper was the site of a siding of the Southern Pacific Railroad's Cascade Line (now part of the Union Pacific Railroad), which was named for local resident Jasper B. Hills, the son of Cornelius Joel Hills, who settled at the locale in 1846. The Jasper post office was established in 1884.Jasper State Recreation Site, a state park, is south of Jasper. The locale was named for Fall Creek, a stream originating in Willamette National Forest and flowing into the Middle Fork Willamette River just below the community. Fall Creek Lake lies upstream on Fall Creek. There is no reservoir on Little Fall Creek. Fall Creek is in the zip code 97438.

Dexter is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is located near Dexter Reservoir, a.k.a. Dexter Lake, a reservoir of the Middle Fork Willamette River along Oregon Route 58. A post office was established in the locality in 1872 and named "Butte Disappointment", after a local landmark named in 1848. The post office was renamed "Dexter" in 1875, apparently after the "Dexter" brand cook stove owned by the postmaster's family.Access to Dexter Lake, a popular fishing and boating site, is available at Dexter State Recreation Site. The nearby Dexter Lake Club was used in the filming of the road trip scene in the movie Animal House.The Lost Valley Educational Center is an intentional community near Dexter. The Parvin Bridge, a covered bridge near Dexter, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It carries Parvin Road over Lost Creek, which flows by Dexter.In 2002, despite not having a city government, Dexter residents opened a public library, the Cascades Foothills Library, that as of August 2006 they are hoping to expand into a regional library.

Elijah Bristow State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of Oregon, administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. It has more than 10 miles (16 km) of well-maintained trails along ponds, wetlands, meadows, and the Middle Fork Willamette River, and through forests of broadleaf and evergreen trees. The trails are open to horses, hikers, and mountain bikers, and there is a separate equestrian staging area popular with riding clubs.The 847-acre (343 ha) park was named for Elijah Bristow, one of the first pioneer settlers in Lane County. Located directly downstream of Dexter Reservoir, the site was originally called Dexter State Park. It was renamed in 1979 to honor Bristow, who founded the nearby community of Pleasant Hill in the mid-19th century.The park's trail system includes part of a trail linking Alton Baker Park in Eugene to the Pacific Crest Trail near Oakridge. Named trails in the park include Equestrian, River, Lost Creek, Pond Loop, and Fishermen's, which interconnect "like a tangle of intersecting puzzle pieces".Wildlife in the park includes salmon and steelhead, osprey, great blue herons, bald eagles and beaver. Among the thousands of species in the park are the threatened Western pond turtle and the Oregon chub.Activities, in addition to hiking, horse riding, biking, and fishing, include wildlife watching, picnicking, and boating. A wildlife viewing platform overlooks the pond complex in the park.
