Drayton Plains, Michigan

The Drayton Plains State Fish Hatchery was the second fish hatchery opened by the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources (previously known as the Michigan Conservation Department). It was established in 1903 and originally named Drayton Plains Station. The name was officially changed to Drayton Plains State Fish Hatchery in 1934.The Drayton Plains State Fish Hatchery was opened along the Clinton River on Mill Street (later Hatchery Road) in what was then Drayton Plains, Michigan (now Waterford Township). Its purpose was to raise bass fingerlings on its 18-acre site. The Drayton Plains State Fish Hatchery was listed as a Michigan Historic Site on August 24, 1984.

Eagle Lake is a 56-acre (23 ha) lake in central Oakland County, Michigan. The lake has a maximum depth of 20 feet (6.1 m). It is located in Waterford Township.The lake is west of Dixie Highway, north of Walton Boulevard, and east of Sashabaw Road. Eagle Lake connects with Woodhull Lake to the east.

Waterford Kettering High School is a public high school in the Waterford School District located in Waterford, Michigan. The official name of the high school is Charles F. Kettering High School, named for the automotive industry pioneer.

Woodhull Lake is a 135-acre (55 ha) all-sports lake located in central Oakland County, Michigan. The lake has a maximum depth of 56 feet (17 m). It is located in both Waterford Township and Independence Township.Woodhull Lake is located on the upper reaches of the Clinton River watershed. The Clinton River enters Woodhull Lake on the west end and exits on the north end. Approximately three-quarters of a mile upstream is the dam for Van Norman Lake, the next lake upstream. The Clinton River between these two lakes is wide with slow flow. Also upstream is the 26-acre Townsend Lake.Downstream from Woodhull Lake, it is connected to Lake Oakland. There is a dam on Lake Oakland and both Lake Oakland and Woodhull Lake have a legal established lake level elevation of 957.43 feet (291.82 m).On the southeast side of Woodhull Lake, there is a connection to Eagle Lake, a small, 19-acre (7.7 ha), 20-foot (6.1 m) deep lake which flows into Woodhull Lake.

Loon Lake is a freshwater lake located in Waterford Township, Michigan. It borders Dixie Highway on the west and is south of Walton Blvd. on the north. The sand-bottom lake is 243 acres (98 ha), making it the 18th largest lake in Oakland County, Michigan and one of the largest in Waterford Township. Loon Lake is located on the upper reaches of the Clinton River watershed. The Clinton River enters Lake Loon on the north end from Lake Oakland upstream. The Clinton River exits to the southwest downstream of Loon Lake. Loon Lake also connects to Silver Lake to the east. From Loon Lake, the Clinton River heads west toward the Drayton Plains State Fish Hatchery and then winds its way southward to Cass Lake.At its deepest point, the lake is 73 feet (22 m) deep, making it the ninth deepest lake in Oakland County. The community, formerly called Drayton Plains, is on the lake to the west. In the 1960s, Loon Lake hosted annual hydroplane boat races.

Watkins Lake is a 238 acres (96 ha) lake in Waterford Township in Oakland County, Michigan.The private, 25 feet (7.6 m) deep all-sports lake is spring fed and is entirely residential. It is located north of Watkins Lake Rd and west of Dixie Highway.

Clam Lake is a lake located in Waterford Township, Michigan. It lies north of Highland Rd. (M-59), south of Hatchery Rd, west of Crescent Lake Rd. and east of Airport Rd.The 21-acre lake is spring fed.

Leggett Bay (also known as 'Leggets Lake) is located in Waterford Township, Michigan, United States. The 25-acre bay within Lake Oakland (Michigan) lies north of Walton Blvd. near Clintonville Rd. At its deepest point, the bay is 10 feet deep. An aerial photo of Leggett Bay was featured in the Lake Oakland feature article contained in the July 2019 edition of Lakefront Lifestyles Magazine.

Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School is a private, Roman Catholic school in Waterford Township, Michigan, United States. It is one of only 5 PK-12 schools in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. The high school was established in 1960 and shares its Waterford campus with Our Lady of the Lakes Elementary School and Middle School. Also sharing the campus is Our Lady of the Lakes parish church. Our Lady of the Lakes parish school was established in 1956 as an elementary school. Our Lady of the Lakes is accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools

Oakland Lake is a 255-acre (103 ha) lake located in central Oakland County in both Waterford Township and Independence Township.There are several basins in the lake, reaching 25 feet (7.6 m), 27 feet (8.2 m), and the deepest being 64 feet (20 m), with all three basins having relatively steep side slopes. There are a number of shallow bays on the lake that are less than five-feet deep and several small islands.Originally called Pond Lake, Oakland Lake is located on the upper reaches of the Clinton River watershed. The Clinton River enters Oakland Lake on the west end through a short, wide connection to Woodhull Lake immediately upstream. The Clinton River exits on the southeast end where there are two dams that regulate water level. Both Oakland and Woodhull lakes have a legal established lake level elevation of 957.43. A short distance downstream of Oakland Lake, the Clinton River enters into Schoolhouse Lake and Loon Lake. Near the central portion of Oakland Lake and to the south, a short, shallow connection leads to Leggets Lake, which is a small (25 acres), shallow (10 feet) lake.
