It is a two-story, four-bay, single-pile, vernacular Federal style heavy timber frame dwelling. It sits on a brick foundation, is sheathed in weatherboard, and has a two-story front portico. McGee's Crossroads is an unincorporated community in Johnston County, North Carolina, United States, situated at the intersection of North Carolina Highway 50, and North Carolina Highway 210. It lies at an elevation of 292 feet (89 m).The community of McGee's Crossroads extends to the intersection of I-40 and Hwy. 210, west to the town of Angier, and the intersection of Hwy. 50 and Hwy. 42. Cleveland is an unincorporated community in suburban northwestern Johnston County, North Carolina, United States. It lies at an elevation of 243 feet (74 m). The settlement is also known as Cleveland Crossings, Cleveland Community, Cleveland School or 40/42, so named for the intersection of I-40 and NC 42 at the northeastern edge of the community, which serves as the primary commercial hub of the area. NC 50 skirts the western edge of the community. The community's population is concentrated along Cleveland Road (also known as Cleveland School Road) in Johnston County. While officially unincorporated, postal addresses for the community generally lie in Garner (for the northern parts of the community), Clayton (in the eastern and central parts of the community) and Benson (for the southern part of the community). The community is named for the Cleveland School, a former K-12 school lying on Cleveland Road, the grounds of which currently house a community center, senior adult housing, a gymnasium and numerous athletic fields managed by the Greater Cleveland Athletic Association (GCAA), and a branch of the Johnston Community College. Nearby unincorporated communities include McGee's Crossroads to the south along NC 50 and Willow Spring to the west along NC 42. There have been several efforts to incorporate the rapidly growing community, though the issue was tabled by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1999. Since there is already a town known as Cleveland elsewhere in the state, the name of the proposed incorporated town has been a minor point of contention. Thousands of new homes have been built in the community, making it one of the faster-growing areas in Johnston County. Its location at a major interchange along Interstate 40 has made it a burgeoning business center.

The Cleveland School, also known as Cleveland Middle School, is a historic school complex located near Clayton, Johnston County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Charles C. Hook and built in 1926–1927, with flanking wings added in 1932 and 1938. It is a two-story, five-bay, U-shaped, Classical Revival style brick building on a raised basement. It features a projecting center bay with recessed main entrance and end bays with blind windows. Also on the property are the contributing well house (c. 1927), bathroom (c. 1927), and gymnasium (1955).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Cleveland High School or CvHS is located in unincorporated Johnston County, North Carolina. It lies within the Cleveland community, with a postal address of Clayton. It was established during the 2010–2011 school year. It is a public school which is part of Johnston County Schools. Cleveland High School was originally part of Cleveland School, which was founded in 1925 as an all-grade school. However, in 1969, due to the growth of student population in Johnston County, the high school grade students were moved to high schools throughout the county, including South Johnston High School. To account for the continued growth in Johnston County, two new schools, Cleveland High School and Corinth Holders High School, opened in 2010.

Hannah's Creek Primitive Baptist Church is a historic Primitive Baptist church located at Benson, Johnston County, North Carolina. It was built about 1834 or about 1866, and is a vernacular one-story rectangular, timber-frame building, five bays wide and three bays deep. It rests on a brick pier foundation and has a gable roof. The building measures 36 feet wide and 48 feet long. The church was moved to its present location in the 1930s. Also on the property is a contributing church cemetery with burials dating from the late-19th century to 1940.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

South Johnston High School (also referred to as "South") is a high school for grades 9–12 located in Four Oaks, North Carolina, near Benson. The school was built in 1969 in order to integrate the area's "all-white" and "all-black" schools. The principal is William Weaver, one of the former assistant principals at the school. The school is located in the Southern portion of Johnston County. Middle schools that feed into South Johnston include Benson Middle School, Four Oaks Middle School, and Meadow School (K–8).

Dr. Nathan M. Blalock House is a historic home located near Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built about 1910, and is a two-story, double-pile, Classical Revival-style frame dwelling with a hipped roof. The front facade features a full height, projecting pedimented portico supported by two pairs of fluted wood Ionic order columns and one-story wraparound porch. Also on the property are the contributing well house (c. 1910) and wall (c. 1910).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

It encompasses 29 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in the town of Four Oaks. It includes notable examples of Mission Revival style architecture and buildings dating from about 1890 to 1957. It includes commercial, residential, ecclesiastical, and educational structures. Notable buildings include the W.E. Stanley Store (c. 1890, 1947), Blake Adams Store (1904), Four Oaks Bank Building, Lassiter Building (c. 1925), W. D. Allen Building (1926), Four Oaks Drugstore (1937), Sinclair Gas Station (c. 1930s).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Benson is a town in Johnston County, North Carolina, United States, near the intersection of Interstates 95 and 40. Benson celebrates Mule Days on the fourth Saturday of September, a festival that attracts over 60,000 people each year. In 2010, the population was 3,311, up from 2,923 in 2000.
