Also on the property is a contributing meat house (c. 1835).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Cleveland School, also known as Cleveland Middle School, is a historic school complex located near Clayton, Johnston County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Charles C. Hook and built in 1926–1927, with flanking wings added in 1932 and 1938. It is a two-story, five-bay, U-shaped, Classical Revival style brick building on a raised basement. It features a projecting center bay with recessed main entrance and end bays with blind windows. Also on the property are the contributing well house (c. 1927), bathroom (c. 1927), and gymnasium (1955).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Cleveland is an unincorporated community in suburban northwestern Johnston County, North Carolina, United States. It lies at an elevation of 243 feet (74 m). The settlement is also known as Cleveland Crossings, Cleveland Community, Cleveland School or 40/42, so named for the intersection of I-40 and NC 42 at the northeastern edge of the community, which serves as the primary commercial hub of the area. NC 50 skirts the western edge of the community. The community's population is concentrated along Cleveland Road (also known as Cleveland School Road) in Johnston County. While officially unincorporated, postal addresses for the community generally lie in Garner (for the northern parts of the community), Clayton (in the eastern and central parts of the community) and Benson (for the southern part of the community). The community is named for the Cleveland School, a former K-12 school lying on Cleveland Road, the grounds of which currently house a community center, senior adult housing, a gymnasium and numerous athletic fields managed by the Greater Cleveland Athletic Association (GCAA), and a branch of the Johnston Community College. Nearby unincorporated communities include McGee's Crossroads to the south along NC 50 and Willow Spring to the west along NC 42. There have been several efforts to incorporate the rapidly growing community, though the issue was tabled by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1999. Since there is already a town known as Cleveland elsewhere in the state, the name of the proposed incorporated town has been a minor point of contention. Thousands of new homes have been built in the community, making it one of the faster-growing areas in Johnston County. Its location at a major interchange along Interstate 40 has made it a burgeoning business center.

Cleveland High School or CvHS is located in unincorporated Johnston County, North Carolina. It lies within the Cleveland community, with a postal address of Clayton. It was established during the 2010–2011 school year. It is a public school which is part of Johnston County Schools. Cleveland High School was originally part of Cleveland School, which was founded in 1925 as an all-grade school. However, in 1969, due to the growth of student population in Johnston County, the high school grade students were moved to high schools throughout the county, including South Johnston High School. To account for the continued growth in Johnston County, two new schools, Cleveland High School and Corinth Holders High School, opened in 2010.

Dr. Nathan M. Blalock House is a historic home located near Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built about 1910, and is a two-story, double-pile, Classical Revival-style frame dwelling with a hipped roof. The front facade features a full height, projecting pedimented portico supported by two pairs of fluted wood Ionic order columns and one-story wraparound porch. Also on the property are the contributing well house (c. 1910) and wall (c. 1910).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

It was built about 1787, and is a two-story, five-bay, transitional Georgian / Federal style frame dwelling. It is sheathed in weatherboard, is flanked by massive double-shouldered exterior end chimneys, and has a full-width shed roofed one-story front porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

The Frank and Mary Smith House is a historic home located at 2935 John Adams Road in Willow Spring, Wake County, North Carolina, a suburb of Raleigh. The house was built about 1880, and is a two-story, three-bay, single-pile frame I-house with a central hall plan. It is sheathed in weatherboard, has a triple-A-roof, and a 1+1⁄2-story tall shed addition and gabled rear ell.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in September 2003.

Juniper Level Botanic Garden, is a 28+ acre botanical garden in Raleigh, North Carolina. The garden was established in 1988 by Tony Avent and his late wife Michelle. In 2018, Tony and Anita Avent gifted the privately owned Juniper Level Botanic Gardens to N.C. State University, while retaining lifetime rights. JLBG will become a sister institution to the J.C. Raulston Arboretum. No synthetic non-organic fertilizers have been used in the garden since 1988, and all runoff (outside of hurricanes) is captured on-site through a series of rain gardens and recirculating runoff collection systems. A large on-site composting program supplies nutrients and compost for the gardens. The botanic garden is open eight weekends per year. It also hosts The Center for Mindfulness and Nonduality, established by Anita Avent in 2013.

Plant Delights Nursery was established in 1988 by plantsman Tony Avent and currently operates on the 28-acre campus of Juniper Level Botanic Gardens. Barclaysville is an unincorporated community located in Harnett County, North Carolina, United States, near the town of Angier. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau. The community was a stop on the defunct Durham and Southern Railway and was formerly the site of Barclay-Barbee naval stores industry.
