Shenipsit State Forest is a state forest located in northeastern Connecticut with 11 parcels scattered between the towns of Somers, Ellington, and Stafford. The forest's headquarters is home to the Civilian Conservation Corps Museum, which houses memorabilia from CCC camps throughout the eastern United States. The forest is managed for forestry products and offers various recreational pursuits.

Nye-Holman State Forest is a Connecticut state forest located in the town of Tolland. The Willimantic River flows through the forest.

Stafford Motor Speedway is a semi-banked half-mile mile paved oval located in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. Stafford Speedway holds weekly racing every Friday night May through September. This track is known as the home of the SK Modifieds and drivers such as Ryan Preece and Ted Christopher. The track hosts weekly events throughout the season previously including 3 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events yearly. Stafford Motor Speedway is the track that had hosted the second most ever races in the modern era of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour with 131 races from 1985 to 2019. The speedway also had hosted 5 NASCAR North Tour events from 1979 until 1985 and 30 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East races, between 1987 and 2016. Stafford Motor Speedway was the site of the first ever Superstar Racing Experience event on June 12, 2021. The main event was won by track regular Doug Coby. In December 2020, the track announced that it would end its 60-year affiliation with NASCAR, "due to a conflict regarding ownership of streaming and broadcast rights of weekly racing events". Stafford began live streaming on FloRacing in 2021.

Stafford is a town in Tolland County, Connecticut, United States, settled in 1719. The town is part of the Capitol Planning Region. The population was 11,472 at the 2020 United States Census. The community consists of the downtown area of Stafford Springs and the more rural villages of Crystal Lake, Ellithorpe, Hydeville, Orcuttsville, Staffordville, Stafford Hollow, Village Hill, and West Stafford. The town most likely derives its name from Staffordshire, in England.

The Holt Memorial Fountain is a fountain located in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. The fountain was built in 1894 in memorial of Charles Holt, the owner of the Phoenix Woolen Co, a local mill. The fountain causes a roundabout to form with Route 32 and Route 190 intersecting. The fountain water system had been broken due to a truck crash some time before 1996. The fountain was proposed to be moved in 1990 to help traffic, but it was greatly opposed by the town. The former railroad station is located less than 100 feet away.

Stafford Springs is a census-designated place located in Stafford, Connecticut. The population was 4,780 at the 2020 Census. The village was a borough until November 1991, when it was disincorporated.Located near the source of the Willimantic River, the mill industry grew in the town due to its location and became the largest industry in the area. The village has the Holt Memorial Fountain and the former railroad station.In the 18th century, the spring at Stafford Springs was famous for its reputed ability to cure "the gout, sterility, pulmonary, hysterics, etc." In 1771, John Adams, then a young lawyer, visited Stafford Springs for several days after suffering from overwork and anxiety.Stafford Springs was once the headquarters of Station C of the Connecticut State Police, and subsequently was the site of the Troop C Barracks.Currently Route 32, Route 190, Route 19, and Route 140 pass through or originate in the village.

Stafford High School is a public high school in Stafford, Connecticut. It serves grades 9-12 and offers a wide variety of programs. It competes athletically as the Bulldogs in many different sports.

Tolland is a suburban town in Tolland County, Connecticut, United States. The town is part of the Capitol Planning Region. The population was 14,563 at the 2020 census.

The Old Tolland County Courthouse is a historic former courthouse at 53 Tolland Green in Tolland, Connecticut. Built in 1822 it was used as a county courthouse until the 1890s. It housed the Tolland Public Library from 1899 to 1985. Now a history museum operated by the Tolland Historical Society, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

The Hicks-Stearns Family Museum is a Victorian historic house museum located on the town green in Tolland, Connecticut. The house was built in 1788, when it served as a tavern. It was occupied by the Hicks family from 1845 until 1970. Along with the Old Tolland County Jail and Museum, the Tolland County Courthouse, and the Daniel Benton Homestead, the Hicks-Stearns Family Museum is one of Tolland's four major landmarks.

The Tolland Green Historic District is a historic district that includes the town green, Tolland Green, of Tolland, Connecticut. The Tolland Green is a long and narrow strip of land oriented in a north-south direction. The district includes the green and the surrounding properties. The historic district contains 55 contributing buildings and one other site, and is located primarily along Merrow Road (Route 195) from just south of Cider Mill Road in the south, past the Tolland Green, then widening in the north to encompass both Tolland Stage Road (Route 74) and the street known as Tolland Green to roughly Dunn Hill Road. Route 195 serves as the Tolland Green's western boundary, while the street known as Tolland Green serves as the eastern boundary. Route 74 cuts through the Green from east to west.On either side of the Green at the south end are two town halls, the Old Town Hall (1879) and the present Town Hall (1909). The historic Congregational Church, the Old Tolland County Courthouse (built in 1822; site of the Tolland Public Library from 1899 to 1985), the Board of Education building (in a converted residence built in 1830), the Ratcliffe Hicks Memorial School (built in 1908; now the Hicks Memorial Municipal Center and Library), and the Old Tolland County Jail and Museum are located near the intersection where the Route 74 cuts through the Green. Most buildings in the historic district are residential and most date from the 18th and 19th centuries. Historic residences include the Hicks-Stearns Family Museum, former home of Ratcliffe Hicks. The district is significant for its landscape qualities, its historical associations, and its Federal and Victorian architecture.

Shenipsit Lake (or Snipsic lake; shin-ip-SIT), known locally as "The Snip", is a natural lake used as a water storage facility with a water size of 522.8 acres (2.116 km2) located in Tolland County, Connecticut, bordering the towns of Ellington, Tolland and the Rockville section of Vernon, Connecticut, at 41°53′4.7″N 72°25′34″W. It is the source of the Hockanum River.
