Leithaprodersdorf, also (Leitha-Prodersdorf; Croatian: Lajtaproderštof, Hungarian: Lajtapordány, Lajtha-Pordány) is an Austrian town located in the Eisenstadt-Umgebung district of the state of Burgenland. The town is located on Burgenland's northern border with Lower Austria, near the state capital of Eisenstadt.

AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is Austria's largest Research and Technology Organization (RTO), employing about 1,400 people mostly based at the main facilities Vienna Giefinggasse, Seibersdorf, Wiener Neustadt, Ranshofen, and Graz. In June 2009 the name was changed from Austrian Research Centers (ARC) to AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH. It is owned by the Republic of Austria (through the Ministry of Climate Action and Energy with 50.46% and by the Federation of Austrian Industries with 49.54%). The managing directors are Andreas Kugi, Brigitte Bach, and Alexander Svejkovsky.

ASTRA (Adaptierter Schwimmbecken-Typ-Reaktor Austria, english translation: Adapted swimming pool-type reactor Austria) was a type of nuclear research reactor built in Seibersdorf, Austria near Vienna, at the site of the former Austrian Reactor Center Seibersdorf which now forms part of the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). ASTRA operated from 1960 to 1999.

Wimpassing an der Leitha (Croatian: Vimpas, Hungarian: Vimpác) is a town in the district of Eisenstadt-Umgebung in the Austrian state of Burgenland.

The Piesting is a river in southern Lower Austria. A left tributary of the Fischa, its drainage basin is 348 km2 (134 sq mi).The sources of the Piesting are the Kalte Gang, the Steinapiesting, and the Längapiesting, which begin south of the Schneeberg. These rivers meet in Gutenstein in the Gutenstein Alps. From there the Piesting flows east through Markt Piesting and Wöllersdorf and into the Viennese Basin. The tributary Myrabach discharges at Pernitz into the Piesting. Between the Hohe Mandling (967 m (3,173 ft)) in the north and the Großer Kitzberg (771 m (2,530 ft)) in the south, the Piesting breaks through the Quarb, a rocky ravine, and flows further eastwards through Markt Piesting and Wöllersdorf into the Vienna Basin. Near Gramatneusiedl the Piesting discharges into the Fischa. The valley west of the Thermenlinie (the thermal line at the Vienna Basin) in the Gutenstein Alps is known as the Piesting Valley.

Gramatneusiedl is a municipality in the district of Bruck an der Leitha in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It belonged to Wien-Umgebung District which was dissolved in 2016.

Loretto (Hungarian: Lorettom) is a town in the district of Eisenstadt-Umgebung in the Austrian state of Burgenland.

The Leitha Mountains or, less frequently, Leitha Hills (German: Leithagebirge; Hungarian: Lajta-hegység), are a range of hills in Austria lying on the boundary between Lower Austria and Burgenland. The range is an offshoot of the Alps and forms a connection to the Carpathians to the north. It is a ridge about 35 km long and 5–7 km wide along the southeastern edge of the Vienna Basin from Brucker Pforte in the northeast to Wiener Neustädter Pforte (Ödenburger Pforte) in the southwest. The range lies to the southeast of the Leitha River and is considered part of the Randgebirge östlich der Mur division of the Eastern Alps. Its highest peak, Sonnenberg (Hungarian: Nap-hegy), is 484 m above sea level. The ridge is heavily forested with deciduous trees such as oak, hornbeam, and beech predominating.
