Noordscheschut is a village in the north of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Hoogeveen, Drenthe.

Hoogeveen (Dutch: [ˌɦoːɣəˈveːn] ; Dutch Low Saxon: 't Ogeveine or 't Oveine) is a municipality and a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe.

De Zwaluw (English: The Swallow) is a smock mill in Hoogeveen, Drenthe, the Netherlands which is working commercially. It is the third mill to stand on this site as two previous mills both burnt down. It was built in 1834 and is listed as a Rijksmonument, No. 22254.

Hoogeveen is a railway station located in Hoogeveen, Netherlands. The station was opened on 1 May 1870 and is located on the Meppel–Groningen railway. Train services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

De Haar is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is located in the municipality of Hoogeveen, about 7 km northeast of that town.It was first mentioned in 1936 as Haar, and means "sandy ridge". It is considered part of Tiendeveen, and has about 85 houses.

Alteveer (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑl.təˌveːr]) is a hamlet in the municipality of Hoogeveen in the province of Drenthe in the Netherlands. As of 2021, it had a population of 163. It is located south of the town of Hoogeveen and northeast of the village of Alteveer in the municipality of De Wolden. The area surrounding Alteveer consist of agricultural land, historically used for peat extraction.

Drijber is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, and lies about 9 km north of Hoogeveen. The village was first mentioned in 1217 as Triburd, and means "three neighbourhoods". The area around Drijber was first settled around 300 BC, however it was abandoned around 425.Drijber was home to 68 people in 1840. In 1928, a little church was built in the village.

Kalenberg is a hamlet in the northeastern Netherlands. It is located in the municipality Hoogeveen, Drenthe, about 4 km northwest of the town of Hogeveen.It was first mentioned in 1846 as Kalenberg, and means "bare hill". It is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Fluitenberg. It consists of about 7 houses. Since 2007, it is home to a vineyard.

Hollandscheveld (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦɔlɑntsəˌvɛlt]) is a village in the municipality of Hoogeveen, the Netherlands. It was founded in the 17th century after the Hollandsche Compagnie (Company from Holland) bought the land to harvest its peat. It was initially named Hollandsche Veld (Field of the Hollandsche Compagnie) which was later combined into just Hollandscheveld. During the Second World War, three notorious war criminals lived in Hollandscheveld: Auke Pattist, Dirk Hoogendam and Martinus Johannes van Oort. These men tortured arrested resistance warriors and Jews in a local school. Dirk Hoogendam was sentenced to death after the war, but managed to escape to Germany where he died in 2003. Known resistance heroes Marinus and Johannes Post were born in Hollandscheveld. They were both executed by the Germans in 1944. Hollandscheveld became the focus of national attention in 1963 during the Boerenopstand (Farmer's uprising). Thousands of so-called Free Farmers descended on Hollandscheveld when three families were removed from their farms after refusing to pay a levy to the Landbouwschap. After several days of fighting between farmers and armed police, one of the homesteads was burned to the ground. The leader of the uprising was Hendrik Koekoek who was nicknamed Boer Koekoek (Farmer Koekoek). His political party, Boerenpartij (The Farmers Party), gained power and influence as a result of the incident.

Het Oude Jachthuis is a restaurant in Eursinge, near Pesse, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1966 and retained that rating until 1980.Arnold van Doesburg was the head chef and owner of the restaurant in the period 1960–2005.Het Oude Jachthuis, represented by Arnold van Doesburg, was one of the founders of Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise The family Van Doesburg still runs Het Oude Jachthuis, but added a bed and breakfast in 2005.The restaurant is located in a former farm/village pub, close to the A28. It is a listed building.In 1967, during a visit to the province Drenthe, Prince Claus was received in Het Oude Jachthuis by the provincial officials.

Eursinge is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is located in the municipality of De Wolden, less than 1 km northwest of the village of Pesse.
