Hoogeveen railway station

Hoogeveen (Dutch: [ˌɦoːɣəˈveːn] ; Dutch Low Saxon: 't Ogeveine or 't Oveine) is a municipality and a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe.

De Zwaluw (English: The Swallow) is a smock mill in Hoogeveen, Drenthe, the Netherlands which is working commercially. It is the third mill to stand on this site as two previous mills both burnt down. It was built in 1834 and is listed as a Rijksmonument, No. 22254.

Kalenberg is a hamlet in the northeastern Netherlands. It is located in the municipality Hoogeveen, Drenthe, about 4 km northwest of the town of Hogeveen.It was first mentioned in 1846 as Kalenberg, and means "bare hill". It is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Fluitenberg. It consists of about 7 houses. Since 2007, it is home to a vineyard.

Hoogeveen Airport (Dutch: Vliegveld Hoogeveen) (ICAO: EHHO) is a small general aviation airfield located 0.6 NM (1.1 km; 0.69 mi) northeast of Hoogeveen, a town in the northeastern Netherlands. There are several flying clubs and flying schools located at the airport. It has one grass runway with a length of 1,080 m (3,543 ft). Once per year the special event Wings and Wheels is hosted here. It is a show with classic planes and cars. Special aircraft from all over The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium come to show them to the people. There is also a steakhouse on the grounds.

It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1966 and retained that rating until 1980.Arnold van Doesburg was the head chef and owner of the restaurant in the period 1960–2005.Het Oude Jachthuis, represented by Arnold van Doesburg, was one of the founders of Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise The family Van Doesburg still runs Het Oude Jachthuis, but added a bed and breakfast in 2005.The restaurant is located in a former farm/village pub, close to the A28. It is a listed building.In 1967, during a visit to the province Drenthe, Prince Claus was received in Het Oude Jachthuis by the provincial officials.

It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded its first Michelin star in 2011 and held this until 2015; it received its second star in 2016.Head chef is Jarno Eggen. The restaurant is a member of Les Patrons Cuisiniers.The restaurant is housed in an old Saxonian farmhouse; the oldest parts of the farmhouse date from the end of the 1700s.Around 1986–1987, there was already a restaurant De Groene Lantaarn located in the building, run by a person named mr. J.J. Vierstra. In 2000, it showed up as restaurant In de Groene Lantaarn with mr. Jan Jager as the owner. In May 2009, Jager sold the restaurant to Jarno Eggen and Cindy Donker. They both had worked at two-starred restaurant De Lindenhof in Giethoorn, Eggens as chef, Donker as maitre.

Alteveer (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑl.təˌveːr]) is a hamlet in the municipality of Hoogeveen in the province of Drenthe in the Netherlands. As of 2021, it had a population of 163. It is located south of the town of Hoogeveen and northeast of the village of Alteveer in the municipality of De Wolden. The area surrounding Alteveer consist of agricultural land, historically used for peat extraction.

It is located in the municipality De Wolden, Drenthe, about 2 km west of Pesse.According to the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa, it had about 20 inhabitants in the middle of the 19th century, and was also called "Anhalt". The postal authorities have placed it under Pesse. Nowadays, it has about 15 houses and 50 holiday homes.
