Posterholt

Melick en Herkenbosch is a former municipality in the Dutch province of Limburg. It covered the villages of Melick and Herkenbosch. In 1991, the municipality merged with Vlodrop, and in 1993, it changed its name to Roerdalen.

Roskam is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Roerdalen. It is located between the larger towns of Posterholt and Sint Odiliënberg. Roskam is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Sint Odiliënberg. It consists of a handful of houses.

Vlodrop (Limburgish: Vlórp, pronounced [ˈvlʊʀ(ə)p]) is a village in the south-eastern part of The Netherlands in the municipality of Roerdalen. The village is situated near the German border, about 8 km southeast of Roermond.

Sint Odiliënberg (Dutch pronunciation: [sɪnt oːˈdiljə(m)bɛr(ə)x]) is a village in southeast Netherlands, It is located in Roerdalen, Limburg, in the Roer River valley.

Roerdalen (Dutch: [ruːrˈdaːlə(n)] (listen); Limburgish: Roerdale [ʀuːʀˈdaːlə]) is a municipality in the southeastern Netherlands, in the province of Limburg. As of January 2021, it had about 20580 inhabitants and borders Germany. Roerdalen is the renaming of the municipality of Melick en Herkenbosch in 1993.

Lyceum Schöndeln is a secondary school in Roermond, Netherlands. It combines a havo, an atheneum and a gymnasium and incorporates specialisations in both the arts (cultuurprofielschool) and the exact sciences (technasium). The school was formed in 2007 from the merger of the Stedelijk Lyceum and the Bisschoppelijk College Schöndeln.

The Roertunnel is a 2.45 km long land tunnel in Roermond, Netherlands. Opening in 2008, it is one of the longest land tunnels for road traffic in the Netherlands.The tunnel is a part of the A73-south highway, connecting the A73-north in Venlo to the A2 near Echt. The tunnel consists of two main tubes, each containing two traffic lanes without shoulders. One tube contains northbound traffic, while the other contains southbound traffic. Additionally, there is a third tube between the two main tubes that functions as an emergency escape route. The maximum speed inside the tunnels is 100 km/h. Since the highway is directly in the path of urban and protected environmental areas in Roermond, the tunnel has been constructed to lead the traffic underneath East Roermond's urban area, the Roerdal environmental protected zone, and the Roer river. A little north of the Roertunnel, a sister tunnel, The Swalmentunnel, has been constructed according to the same construction principles. That tunnel measures 400m in length and leads underneath the urban area of Swalmen, a village in the municipality of Roermond. Once the tunnel is fully opened, one of the entry ramps in Roermond will have to be redesigned, because according to safety regulations the final entry on the highway must be 300m ahead of the tube of a tunnel, and the entry to the southbound tube in the Roertunnel ends only a few meters ahead of the tunnel. The plan is to redirect all highway traffic to the left lane before entering the tunnel, so that all traffic on the entry ramp can use the right lane for the complete length of the tunnel before merging with the rest of the traffic upon exit of the tunnel.

Reutje or 't Reutje (Dutch pronunciation: [(ət) ˈrøːcə]; Limburgish: 't Räötje [ət ˈʀœːtʃə]) is a hamet in Dutch Limburg. It belongs to the municipality of Roerdalen. It lies a few km from Sint Odiliënberg. It was first mentioned in 1251 as "curtis in Raetken", and means "cultivated forest". Reutje has place name signs. It was home to 184 people in 1840.There is a small café 'Bie Tiel' and a big fanfare, Sint Wiro. Reutje also has its own song: Träötje mien Landj, composed by Wiel Janssen and Pièrre Bonné.

Etsberg (Limburgish: Ètsberg) is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is a part of the municipality of Roerdalen, and lies about 9 km southeast of Roermond. It was first mentioned between 1803 and 1820 as Etzenberg. The etymology is unclear. Unlike most hamlets, Etsberg has a dense triangular core. It was home to 234 people in 1840.

Waldfeucht (Limburgish: Vuch [ˈvʏx]) is a German municipality in the Heinsberg district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Federal Republic of Germany. It is situated on the border with the Kingdom of the Netherlands, approx. 15 km south of Roermond and 8 km west of Heinsberg.

Onder de Boompjes was a restaurant located in Hattem Castle in Roermond, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1999 and retained that rating until 2004.Owner and head chef of Onder de Boompjes was René Brienen.The restaurant was originally located on Irenestraat 1 in Overloon but moved in April 2002 to Hattem Castle in Roermond.The restaurant closed down in 2004, due to bankruptcy.

The National East Indies monument 1945–1962 in Roermond, the Netherlands commemorates more than 6200 Dutch servicemen who died in either the former Dutch East Indies or New Guinea. The monument is located in the National Remembrance Park Roermond (Dutch: Nationaal Herdenkingspark Roermond), which also has monuments dedicated to the civilians who died during that period, as well as Dutch servicemen who died in other missions since the start of the Korean War.
