Childwall

All Saints' Church, is in Childwall, Liverpool, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is the only medieval church remaining in the Metropolitan borough of Liverpool. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Liverpool, the archdeaconry of Liverpool and the deanery of Liverpool South – Childwall.

Childwall Hall was a 19th-century English country house located in Childwall, Liverpool, England. Built on the site of a previous mansion of the same name the Gothic Revival building was the seat of parliamentarian Bamber Gascoyne the Younger, a noted opponent of the abolition of slavery. The main building was demolished in 1949 and the current site is now occupied by television production company Lime Pictures. A lodge building and a few ruins of the same style are all that remain of the hall.

Childwall railway station was a station located on the North Liverpool Extension Line at Well Lane, Childwall, Liverpool. It opened on 1 December 1879. The station was distant from the village of Childwall. Passenger services ended in 1931 while it was still a village. The tracks were lifted in early 1979 when Childwall was a suburb of Liverpool with a large population.

Much Woolton is a historic area in Liverpool, located in Merseyside, England, and part of the Liverpool Wavertree parliamentary constituency. Much Woolton is bordered by the suburbs of Allerton to the south, Hunt's Cross to the southeast, and Childwall to the north. It has a rich history, dating back to the medieval period, and was historically part of Lancashire before the creation of Merseyside. The area is known for its picturesque village, beautiful parks, and notable landmarks such as the Church of St Peter and St Paul.

Court Hey Hall was a mansion in England built for Robertson Gladstone (1805–1875), elder brother of William Gladstone. The hall was built c.1836 in the west of what is now Knowsley borough in Merseyside. The architect may have been John Cunningham, the designer of Liverpool Lime Street railway station.The estate stayed in the Gladstone family until the death of one of his sons in 1919, then was purchased in the same year by J. Bibby and Sons, cattle food manufacturers. The hall was used as a sports and social centre for the Bibby employees. By 1948 the hall was beginning to deteriorate and in 1951 the company sold it and the estate to Huyton-With-Roby Council. The hall was demolished in 1956 and part of the grounds were turned into a public park called Court Hey Park; the remainder of the estate was used for housing development. Between 2001 and 2017 the park was the home of the National Wildflower Centre.

Liverpool Hope University (abbreviated LHU) is a public university with campuses in Liverpool, England. ‌The university grew out of three teacher training colleges: Saint Katharine's College (originally Warrington Training College), Notre Dame College (originally Our Lady's Training College), and Christ's College. Uniquely in European higher education, the university is ecumenical, the only one in Europe, with Saint Katharine's College being Anglican and Notre Dame and Christ's Colleges being Catholic. The Anglican Bishop of Liverpool, David Sheppard and the Catholic Archbishop of Liverpool, Derek Worlock (who gave their names to the university's Sheppard-Worlock Library) played a prominent role in its formation. Its name derives from Hope Street, the road that connects the city's Anglican and Catholic cathedrals, where graduation ceremonies are alternately held. The university is a research and teaching intensive institution. It has gained recognition for its teaching. In 2023, it achieved an overall Silver rating in the UK Government's Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), and rankings in teaching-focused league tables is comparable with lower-performing Russell Group universities. Former vice chancellor Gerald Pillay summarised the university as a liberal arts college-style environment where "[students are] a name, not a number." Its "small and beautiful" ethos has been contrasted with the larger neighbouring University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU).

St Francis Xavier's College is a Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Woolton, Liverpool, England. Year 7 to Year 11 are male only, whereas the Sixth Form (years 12 and 13) are coeducational. The college is under the trusteeship of the Brothers of Christian Instruction. Their mission is that of their founder, Jean Marie de la Mennais, "To make Jesus better known and loved". The school is a specialist school for mathematics and computing, and was the first school in Liverpool to gain specialist school status in that category.

Cedarwood is a Grade II* listed house on Beaconsfield Road in Woolton, Liverpool, United Kingdom. It is most famous for being Woman's Journal's House of the Year for 1960. Designed by Beech and Prys Thomas, its "outstanding design, excellent detailing and remarkable preservation" led to it becoming a listed building by Historic England in 2007.

Bowring Park is a small suburb of Liverpool in the borough of Knowsley, Merseyside, England. It lies between the Childwall and Roby districts and is adjacent to the M62 motorway. Court Hey Park (home of the National Wildflower Centre between 2001 and 2017) is in the Bowring Park area. Bowring Park Golf Course is split in two by the motorway.

Gateacre School is a secondary school and sixth form located in Belle Vale, Liverpool, England. The school is Coeducational with both male and female pupils from years 7 to 11 and throughout the sixth form.

Strawberry Field is a Salvation Army property and visitor attraction in the Liverpool suburb of Woolton. It operated as a children's home between 1936 and 2005. The house and grounds had originally been built as a private residence in the Victorian era, before being acquired by the Salvation Army in the 1930s. The house was demolished in 1973 due to structural problems and replaced with purpose-built units. After being closed as a children's home, the site has continued to be used by the Salvation Army for other purposes. The location gained worldwide fame following the release of the Beatles' 1967 single "Strawberry Fields Forever". The song's writer, John Lennon, had grown up nearby and played in the grounds of the home as a child. In time, the old red-painted entrance gates on Beaconsfield Road became a place of pilgrimage for Beatles fans. In 2019, Strawberry Field was opened to the public for the first time, with an exhibition on its history, cafe, and shop, alongside a training centre for young people with special educational needs. The gates were stolen on 11 May 2000, allegedly by two men in a transit van. The gates were sold to an unsuspecting antiques dealer who never realised they were the actual gates from Strawberry Field. He returned them to the police upon request, and they now stand in the grounds of Strawberry Field.

Our Lady of the Annunciation Church is a Catholic parish church next to Bishop Eton Monastery in Childwall, Liverpool. It was built from 1857 to 1858 by the Redemptorists and was designed by E. W. Pugin. It is on the Woolton Road, opposite the Hope Park campus of Liverpool Hope University and close to Our Lady's Bishop Eton Primary School. It is a Grade II* listed building.
