Liverpool Hope University

Our Lady of the Annunciation Church is a Catholic parish church next to Bishop Eton Monastery in Childwall, Liverpool. It was built from 1857 to 1858 by the Redemptorists and was designed by E. W. Pugin. It is on the Woolton Road, opposite the Hope Park campus of Liverpool Hope University and close to Our Lady's Bishop Eton Primary School. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Calderstones ward is an electoral district of Liverpool City Council within the Liverpool Wavertree and Garston and Halewood constituencies. The ward was created for the elections held on 4 May 2023 following a 2022 review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, which decided that the previous 30 wards each represented by three Councillors should be replaced by 64 wards represented by 85 councillors with varying representation by one, two or three councillors per ward. The Calderstones ward was created as a single-member ward from the eastern half of the former Church ward with a small section of the former Woolton ward. The ward boundaries follow Queens Drive, Woolton Road, Aldbourne Avenue, Beaconsfield Road, Yew Tree Road and Allerton Road. The ward is named for and includes Calderstones Park.

Carleton House is a Catholic private preparatory school in Liverpool, England, that educates children from the ages of 3–11. It is a member of the Independent Schools Association and is overseen by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

Much Woolton is a historic area in Liverpool, located in Merseyside, England, and part of the Liverpool Wavertree parliamentary constituency. Much Woolton is bordered by the suburbs of Allerton to the south, Hunt's Cross to the southeast, and Childwall to the north. It has a rich history, dating back to the medieval period, and was historically part of Lancashire before the creation of Merseyside. The area is known for its picturesque village, beautiful parks, and notable landmarks such as the Church of St Peter and St Paul.

Childwall Hall was a 19th-century English country house located in Childwall, Liverpool, England. Built on the site of a previous mansion of the same name the Gothic Revival building was the seat of parliamentarian Bamber Gascoyne the Younger, a noted opponent of the abolition of slavery. The main building was demolished in 1949 and the current site is now occupied by television production company Lime Pictures. A lodge building and a few ruins of the same style are all that remain of the hall.

The Allerton Oak is an Irish oak tree in Calderstones Park in Liverpool, England. It is thought to be around 1,000 years old and is described as the oldest oak in North West England. It is reputed to have been the setting for a medieval hundred court and said to have been damaged in an 1864 gunpowder explosion. The tree won the 2019 English Tree of the Year competition and has been entered into the 2020 European Tree of the Year competition.

Calderstones Park is a public park in Liverpool, Merseyside, United Kingdom. The 126 acres (0.51 km2) park is mainly a family park. Within it there are a variety of different attractions including a playground, a botanical garden and places of historical interest. There is a lake in the park with geese and ducks, and the Calderstones Mansion House, which features a café and a children's play area.

Calderstones Mansion House, Calderstones Park, Liverpool, was built in 1828 for Joseph Need Walker, a lead shot manufacturer. It is a 'restrained neo-classical' ashlar mansion of three floors with a separate and extensive stableyard and coach-house which was originally set in 93 acres of parkland. In 1875, the house and estate were acquired by Charles MacIver, co-founder of Cunard Line, for £52,000. In 1902 the MacIver family Bequeathed the estate of Liverpool Corporation who transformed it into a public park, they soon acquired the adjoining estate of Harthill and established the current 126 acre park. The Grade II listed building became the offices of the Liverpool Corporation Parks and Gardens department and in the 1940s part of the house was transformed into a self-contained flat for the Assistant Head Gardener. The 1940s also saw a neo art-deco open-air theatre was constructed at the back of the house, designed by Sir Lancelot Keay. For most of the 20th Century the mansion housed a tea-room and cafe and was regularly used for wedding receptions, parties and other functions. In the 1970s the house became council offices and remained that way until 2012. In January 2012 the council placed the house on the market.The Reader was awarded Preferred Bidder Status in January 2013. They have a licence agreement to use the buildings for meetings, events and activities, and have a 125-year lease. In January 2017, The Reader began redevelopment work to restore Calderstones Mansion House, having secured funding from Heritage Lottery Fund, Liverpool City Council and independent funders. The redevelopment was completed in Autumn 2019 when it reopened as The Reader's International Centre for Shared Reading - the world's first public building dedicated to literature and wellbeing. The redevelopment includes the restoration and preservation of the neolithic Calder Stones, which give the local area its name. The Calder Stones now form part of The Calderstones Story, an interactive, permanent exhibition at the Mansion House that tells 5,000 years of local history

All Saints' Church, is in Childwall, Liverpool, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is the only medieval church remaining in the Metropolitan borough of Liverpool. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Liverpool, the archdeaconry of Liverpool and the deanery of Liverpool South – Childwall.

Childwall () is a suburb and ward of Liverpool, England, located to the southeast of the city. It is bordered by Belle Vale, Bowring Park, Broadgreen, Gateacre, Mossley Hill, and Wavertree. In 2008, the population was 14,085.

Strawberry Field is a Salvation Army property and visitor attraction in the Liverpool suburb of Woolton. It operated as a children's home between 1936 and 2005. The house and grounds had originally been built as a private residence in the Victorian era, before being acquired by the Salvation Army in the 1930s. The house was demolished in 1973 due to structural problems and replaced with purpose-built units. After being closed as a children's home, the site has continued to be used by the Salvation Army for other purposes. The location gained worldwide fame following the release of the Beatles' 1967 single "Strawberry Fields Forever". The song's writer, John Lennon, had grown up nearby and played in the grounds of the home as a child. In time, the old red-painted entrance gates on Beaconsfield Road became a place of pilgrimage for Beatles fans. In 2019, Strawberry Field was opened to the public for the first time, with an exhibition on its history, cafe, and shop, alongside a training centre for young people with special educational needs. The gates were stolen on 11 May 2000, allegedly by two men in a transit van. The gates were sold to an unsuspecting antiques dealer who never realised they were the actual gates from Strawberry Field. He returned them to the police upon request, and they now stand in the grounds of Strawberry Field.

The Liverpool Talmudical College (Hebrew: Yeshiva Torat Chaim) was a Yeshiva established in 1914 to provide a higher religious education in Liverpool; it was preceded by a Talmud Torah established in c. 1895. It educated some 200 students a year. It was originally based at the New Central Synagogue (Shaw Street Shul). In 1938 it accepted refugees from Nazi Germany and residential accommodation for the refugees was organised. As Liverpool was a restricted area excluding 'enemy aliens', the College temporarily moved to St Asaph in North Wales. It later moved to self-contained premises in Church Road, Wavertree, a residential district of south Liverpool. With the decline of the Jewish community in Liverpool fewer children enrolled and in the early 1990s the classes moved to the Childwall Synagogue. Amongst its graduates is Rabbi Eli Cashdan.
