Gateacre School

Reynolds Park is a 14-acre (57,000 m2) park in Woolton, Liverpool. The origins of the park are 200 years ago, it was bequeathed to the City Council in 1926.

Gateacre ( (listen)) is a suburb of Liverpool, England, about 6 miles (9.7 km) from the city centre. It is bordered by Childwall, Woolton and Belle Vale. The area is noted for its Tudor Revival architecture and contains over 100 listed buildings within a quarter-mile radius of the village centre, making it one of the most important historic areas in the city.Gateacre can trace its roots back to at least the 12th century, although it was not until the mid-seventeenth century that the name was first used to refer to the area. It remained a primarily rural village until the nineteenth century, when it began to grow rapidly as new transport links and businesses developed. Gateacre was officially absorbed into Liverpool in 1913, however it was not until the post-war period that it became part of city's metropolitan area. In the 1950s and 1960s, large scale housing developments occurred in and around Gateacre, while a new comprehensive school and shopping centre were built. In 1969, in order to protect the area's historic buildings, Gateacre was declared a conservation area, becoming one of the first in Liverpool.

Belle Vale is a Liverpool City Council ward in the Garston and Halewood Parliamentary constituency. The population of the ward at the 2011 census was 15,004. It was formed for the 2004 municipal elections from the former Valley and Netherley wards. In 2016 Councillor Janet Kent retired and two seats were contested.

Gateacre (for Woolton) railway station was located on the North Liverpool Extension Line on the north side of Belle Vale Road, Gateacre, Liverpool, England. Next door was the Black Bull public house which still stands. Official maps, tickets, timetables, a large exterior station sign and platform nameboards variously refer to the station as "Gateacre", "Gateacre, for Woolton", "Gateacre for Woolton" and "Gateacre & Woolton". "Gateacre" is pronounced "Gattiker." The station had outlived those on the same line north of Aintree by twenty years and all the remainder by twelve years when it closed to passengers on 15 April 1972. It had latterly been the suburban terminus of the sole residual service from Liverpool Central (High Level). It was planned that the station would reopen as the southern terminus of Merseyrail's Northern Line. This never occurred, with Hunts Cross becoming the terminus. The tracks through the station site were used for freight trains to Liverpool Docks until 1975. They were lifted in early 1979. By 2015 the trackbed though the station site formed part of the Trans Pennine Trail.

Cedarwood is a Grade II* listed house on Beaconsfield Road in Woolton, Liverpool, United Kingdom. It is most famous for being Woman's Journal's House of the Year for 1960. Designed by Beech and Prys Thomas, its "outstanding design, excellent detailing and remarkable preservation" led to it becoming a listed building by Historic England in 2007.

St Peter's Church is in Church Road, Woolton, Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Liverpool South Childwall, the archdeaconry of Liverpool, and the diocese of Liverpool. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It is one of the largest parish churches in Liverpool, and its bell tower stands at the highest point of the city. The church also has connections with The Beatles.

Belle Vale is a district of south-east Liverpool, Merseyside, England and a Liverpool City Council Ward that covers both Belle Vale and Netherley.

Woolton Picture House (also known as Woolton Cinema) is a privately owned cinema in the Woolton area of Liverpool, England. It is the only remaining single-screen cinema in the city, and is popular with cinema enthusiasts because of its old-fashioned atmosphere. The music of Mantovani plays before the main programme and in the traditional halfway interval, during which ice cream can be bought from usherettes. It was purchased in 1992 by David Wood, the grandson of Liverpool cinema pioneer John Frederick Wood. Wood died on 12 June 2006 leading to the cinema's closure on 3 September. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was the last film to be shown. In 2007, a group of entrepreneurs purchased the cinema and re-opened it on 29 March 2007 with a screening of The Queen. The 2020 coronavirus pandemic led to the permanent closure of the establishment, but a crowd-funding effort on Go Fund Me has raised £20,000, and the owners have suspended redundancies whilst they evaluate the availability of grants from the BFI and other sources.

St Mary's Church is in Church Road, Woolton, Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is an active Roman Catholic parish church in the Pastoral Area of Woolton and Halewood, and the Archdiocese of Liverpool. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

St Francis Xavier's College is a Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Woolton, Liverpool, England. Year 7 to Year 11 are male only, whereas the Sixth Form (years 12 and 13) are coeducational. The college is under the trusteeship of the Brothers of Christian Instruction. Their mission is that of their founder, Jean Marie de la Mennais, "To make Jesus better known and loved". The school is a specialist school for mathematics and computing, and was the first school in Liverpool to gain specialist school status in that category.

Belle Vale Park is a small family park in the Belle Vale area of Liverpool. The park is also home to the Lee Valley Millennium Centre Belle Vale Park is the only public open space in Belle Vale, providing a setting for a range of recreational and cultural facilities for local residents. Areas of grassland with stands of mature trees, a children’s play area, a multi-use game court and informal football and tennis provisions are surrounded by the local shopping centre, supermarket, fast food outlets, and the Millennium Centre. To develop the educational and recreational links between the community and the park grounds, maintenance and Parks teams are working on projects with the community to enhance and promote Belle Vale Park. These include the addition of horticultural features, an ecological wetland area and the development of a woodland understory. It was recently awarded a Green Flag Award for the quality and management of the park.

It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Liverpool South Childwall, the archdeaconry of Liverpool, and the diocese of Liverpool. Its benefice is united with those of Christ Church, Netherley, and St Mark, Childwall Valley, to form the Gateacre Team. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
