Rhoonse Veer

Rhoon is an above-ground subway station of Rotterdam Metro line D. The station is located just north of the centre of Rhoon, a village in the municipality Albrandswaard to the southwest of Rotterdam. The station was opened on October 25, 1974. On that date, the North-South Line was extended from its former terminus, Slinge, towards Zalmplaat station. As a less busy station it is only equipped with one escalator located at the platform with the most upward motions, which as this is an station which is accessed via overpass, is the platform towards De Akkers on the North side. This side also has a secondary exit roughly at ground level. Right outside the station, passengers can get on RET-operated bus line 62.

Rhoon is a village that borders the municipality of the city of Rotterdam, South Holland, the Netherlands. According to its history it was established in 1199 and was ruled by the lords of Duiveland. In the 14th century the village was struck by many floods. In the last big flood, the North Sea flood of 1953, the Dutch government implemented the "deltawerken" (Delta Works). This is a large protection barrier of dikes and dams to keep the water of the North Sea out during high tides. In 1969 Rhoon also became part of this plan and a large dike was established around the island of IJsselmonde. Rhoon is part of the island of IJsselmonde and situated in the south of this island. On the lands outside the dikes is a small yacht marina on the banks of the river Oude Maas, and also a "griend" which is a tidal forest. The river Oude Maas has a tidal difference of around 1.2 meter in a twice daily cycle. Since 1 January 1985, the village has been part of the municipality of Albrandswaard together with Poortugaal.The village has a connection to the city of Rotterdam by Rotterdam Metro line D, through Rhoon station. In Rhoon is the Dutch Consulate General of Ireland.

Albrandswaard (Dutch: [ˌɑlbrɑntsˈʋaːrt] (listen)) is a municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality had a population of 25,271 as of 2019, and covers an area of 23.76 km2 (9.17 sq mi) of which 2.07 km2 (0.80 sq mi) is water. The municipality of Albrandswaard consists of the village of Poortugaal in the west and Rhoon in the east. They were separate municipalities until 1985. The name was taken from the historic municipality of Albrandswaard en Kijvelanden, which existed until 1842, when it joined Poortugaal. Albrandswaard actually is a polder located between Rhoon and Poortugaal. Both villages have a metro station on Rotterdam Metro line D (Poortugaal station and Rhoon station), which connect them to Rotterdam and to the main railway network from Rotterdam Centraal in the east, and to Hoogvliet and Spijkenisse in the west.

Poortugaal is an above-ground subway station of Rotterdam Metro line D. The station is located in Poortugaal, a village in the municipality Albrandswaard to the southwest of Rotterdam. It is located north of the village centre of Poortugaal. The station was opened on 25 October 1974. On that date, the North-South Line was extended from its former terminus, Slinge, towards Zalmplaat station. The Poortugaal and Zalmplaat station share the same design though mirrored. As a less busy station it is only equipped with one escalator located at the platform with the most upward motions, which as this is an above ground station, is the platform towards the centre on the south side. Right outside the station, passengers can get on RET-operated bus lines 79 and 602.

The Waalhaven is a harbour in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It used to be home to an airport, Vliegveld Waalhaven (Waalhaven Airport). It was the second civilian airport in the Netherlands and was opened in 1920. Part of it was also in use by the Dutch military's 3rd JaVA Fokker G.I squadron in 1940. Amongst others, the N.V. Koolhoven aircraft factory was located at this airport. The factory and airport were destroyed in 1940 by the Dutch army so it could not get into the hands of the Germans. After the Second World War, the city was in a prospect of finding an airport, but the existing airfield at Waalhaven was written off the list, because the damage that was caused to prevent the airfield's capture was so great it was considered not worth repairing. An industrial zone now lies on the location of the former airport, with aviation having moved to Zestienhoven Airport.

The KPN-Zendmast Waalhaven, also known as Communication Tower, is a 191.5 metres (628 ft) self-supporting telecommunications tower located in Rotterdam in the Netherlands that was built in 1962. It is the tallest structure in Rotterdam and one of the tallest structures in the Netherlands. The tower is made of reinforced concrete with a metal transmitter at the top and at least one observation deck about halfway up.

's-Gravenambacht is a former hamlet and former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. The area is now part of Rotterdam, and almost completely covered by the Eemhaven dockyards. The western part of the village of Heijplaat is also in this area. The municipality existed between 1817 and 1832, when it merged with Pernis.

Oud-Beijerland (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌʌud ˈbɛiərlɑnt] ) is a town and former municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland, now a part of the Hoeksche Waard municipality. With a population of 24,575 in 2020, it is the most populous town of the Hoeksche Waard island. The town is located adjacent to the confluence of the Oude Maas and Spui River. The town of Oud-Beijerland also includes the communities Vuurbaken and Zinkweg.

Goidschalxoord (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɣoːtsxɑl(ə)ksoːrt]) is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located about 5 km east of Oud-Beijerland, in the municipality of Hoeksche Waard.

Waalhaven is a neighborhood of Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Tussenwater is an above-ground subway station of the Rotterdam Metro lines C and D. The station is located in the borough Hoogvliet in Rotterdam. The station is situated just before the tracks of lines C and D split. Because of this, the station has four running tracks, which are situated along three platforms. The northern two tracks (for southbound/westbound trains) share one platform, while the southern two tracks each have their own platform. Because the line C track passes the line D tracks on a fly-over just east of the station, the platform for the eastbound line C trains is located higher than the other platforms.
