The West Australian Reptile Park is a reptile and native wildlife park located at Henley Brook in the upper Swan valley region of Perth, Western Australia. A privately owned facility, the park is home to a number of reptile species and other animals. Offering the chance for visitors to hold some snakes, lizards and turtles at certain times of day, the park is open 10am–5pm almost every day of the year.

Henley Brook is an outer rural suburb of Perth, Western Australia, part of the Swan Valley wine region. The Ellen brook and Swan River meet in the northeastern corner of the suburb. This is also the farthest upstream Captain Stirling's 1827 exploration reached before deciding on the settlement site of the new colony in 1829. The All Saints Church, the oldest church in Western Australia, is also at this site. The West Australian Reptile Park is a local tourist attraction.

Shalom House is an unaccredited men-only Christian faith-based drug rehabilitation facility located in the Swan Valley about 23 kilometres north of Perth in Western Australia. Operating since 2012, it claims to be the strictest rehabilitation centre in Australia and utilises an ineffectual tough love model to treat residents. While they have stated they are the most successful rehabilitation centre in Australia, they do not track statistics relating to the success rate of the program and rely on anecdotal evidence to support their claim. Publicly available information indicates the success rate of the program is less than 5 per cent. Drug and alcohol experts have stated that the drug treatment field moved away from tough love treatments over 30 years ago due to the lack of evidence supporting them in favour of more successful, evidence-based practices. Residents are required to attend three church services a week and the founder, Peter Lyndon-James, has stated that he converts all residents to Christianity within two days of entering the program.

The Swan Valley is a region in the upper reaches of the Swan River between Guildford and Bells Rapids, Western Australia. It is bordered to the east by the Darling Scarp. Both Ellenbrook and Jane Brook lie within the region and discharge into the Swan River. There are seven suburbs within the region: Baskerville, Belhus, Caversham, Henley Brook, Herne Hill, Millendon and West Swan. It is part of the City of Swan local government area. The Swan Valley Australian Geographical Indication is a sub-region of the larger Swan District wine region. Swan Valley was registered on 6 January 2003 following Swan District being registered on 10 December 1998.

The All Saints Church in Henley Brook is the oldest church in Western Australia. It was built by Richard Edwards between 1838 and 1840, with the first service taking place on 10 January 1841. The site is on a small hill overlooking the Swan River and near the conjunction of the Swan and Ellen Brook. This site was where Captain James Stirling camped during his 1827 exploration of the area.

Baskerville is an outer northeastern rural suburb of Perth, Western Australia, in the Swan Valley region, 31 km from Perth's central business district via Midland and Great Northern Highway. Nearly all of it is under cultivation with viticulture being the main economic activity, and several well-established Swan Valley wineries are based here. Its local government area is the City of Swan.

Swan Valley Anglican Community School is a co-educational, prekindergarten to Year 12, day school located in Perth, Western Australia. The school, located in Perth's north-eastern suburb of Aveley, in the Swan Valley, was opened in 2006. The school has more than 1100 students.In 2007, the ABC program Gardening Australia reported on the school's context in the Swan Valley: The Swan Valley, north east of Perth, is a productive area with orchards and vineyards. But as the suburbs expand, houses, shops and schools are also part of the landscape. The Swan Valley Anglican Community School has plans to make its own grounds productive once again. Swan Valley Anglican Community School is a school of the Anglican Schools Commission. Its school publication is known as The Vine.

Brabham is a suburb located about 21 km (13 mi) north-east of Perth's central business district. The suburb is located in the City of Swan just south of Henley Brook, formerly being a part of that suburb before it was gazetted in May 2011. The suburb was named after Australian motor racing personality Sir Jack Brabham who competed in the 1962 Australian Grand Prix, held at the nearby Caversham Airfield. The suburb is part of the City of Swan's urban growth corridor and is bordered by Park Street to the north, Murray Street to the east, Harrow Street to the south and Drumpellier Drive and Isoondon Street to the west. It is located in the Whiteman Ward of the City of Swan.

Herne Hill is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia within the City of Swan local government area. The area has several wineries that make the Swan Valley popular for its wine production.

Caversham Airfield, also known as Middle Swan Airfield was an airfield constructed at Caversham, Western Australia during World War II as a parent aerodrome for use by the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm and the United States Navy.The airfield had a triangle of three landing strips.Middle Swan was the parent airfield with the following satellite airfields: Beverley Bindoon Gingin North MooliabeeneeThe United States Army Air Corps also utilised the airfield during World War II. It was also a gliding club location after the war.

Belhus is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is in the City of Swan local government area. It was named after Belhus Estate, the original English estate owned by the family of Edmund Barrett-Lennard, one of the pioneers of the Swan Valley table grape industry, who bought a property in the area in 1897 and named it "Belhus".

Houghton Wines is an Australian winery originating in the Swan Valley wine region of Western Australia at the historic Houghton Estate. A subsidiary of Accolade Wines, the company operates four of Western Australia's largest vineyards at Moondah Brook (145 hectares), Pemberton (92 hectares), Mount Barker (74 hectares) and Frankland River (89 hectares), and sources fruit from Margaret River, Harvey and the Ferguson Valley. Expansion into the Western Australian South West and the Great Southern wine region led to the establishment of a winery, located at Nannup in the Blackwood Valley. In 2019 Houghton divested itself of its wine producing facilities and vineyards in the Swan Valley, with the Swan Valley location now known as Nikola Estate. The Houghton portfolio includes the brands of Houghton Line Range, Houghton Crofters, Moondah Brook, Houghton Regional Range, Houghton Gladstone and Jack Mann.
