Caversham Airfield

Whiteman Park railway station is a proposed station on the Morley–Ellenbrook railway line in Perth, Western Australia as part of Metronet, serving Whiteman Park. The station will include a 10 stand bus interchange, providing efficient transport links to nearby Bennett Springs, Dayton, Brabham, and Henley Brook. The station will be located opposite Youle-Dean Road, near the main entrance to the park. Services to Bayswater and Ellenbrook will be provided by Transperth Trains. Whiteman Park station is projected to have 3,795 passengers per day in 2031. The projected journey time to Perth is 25 minutes, and will be a 2 zone fare.

Whiteman Park is a 4,000-hectare (9,900-acre; 15 sq mi) bushland area located 22 km (14 mi) north of Perth, Western Australia. The park is in the suburb of Whiteman, in the Swan Valley in the upper reaches of the Swan River.It encompasses the source of Bennett Brook - an important place of the Nyoongar people, and a source of mythology of the Wagyl and stories about Aboriginal occupancy of the area.Whiteman Park is known for its biodiversity, including more than 450 endemic plants and more than 120 vertebrate animals (some of which are rare and endangered). More than 17% of Western Australian bird species occur in Whiteman Park, including migratory birds attracted to the habitat provided by Bennett Brook and associated wetlands including Grogan's Swamp, a Conservation Category Wetland. The state government purchased the land from a number of private owners in 1978 to protect the underlying aquifer as a drinking water source for Perth. The major owner was Lew Whiteman (1903–1994), after whom the park is named.

Brabham is a suburb located about 21 km (13 mi) north-east of Perth's central business district. The suburb is located in the City of Swan just south of Henley Brook, formerly being a part of that suburb before it was gazetted in May 2011. The suburb was named after Australian motor racing personality Sir Jack Brabham who competed in the 1962 Australian Grand Prix, held at the nearby Caversham Airfield. The suburb is part of the City of Swan's urban growth corridor and is bordered by Park Street to the north, Murray Street to the east, Harrow Street to the south and Drumpellier Drive and Isoondon Street to the west. It is located in the Whiteman Ward of the City of Swan.

West Swan is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located in the City of Swan local government area. It lies west of the Swan River, and east of the former Caversham Motor Racing Circuit. The suburb is traversed by the West Swan Road, one of the main routes in the Swan Valley winery area. At the 2016 Australian census the suburb had a population of 899.

Dayton is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located in the City of Swan. It was gazetted in May 2011, and was named after Walter Warner Day, a pioneer of both the cattle and wine-growing industries in the City of Swan. The suburb is part of the City of Swan's Urban Growth Corridor and is bounded by Lord Street, Harrow Street, Malvern Street, Reid Highway and the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline. The suburb is located in the Swan Valley Ward of the City of Swan.

Caversham Wildlife Park is a wildlife park currently located in Whiteman Park in Western Australia. It is home to several Australian animals including kangaroos, koalas, possums, wallabies, wombats and Tasmanian devils.It was originally located in the locality of Caversham. The Park was bought by a couple, David and Pat, in 1988 and covered 5 acres of land. It was later doubled in size when the couple bought the adjoining property and increased the number of animals.It shifted into Whiteman Park in 2003.

Shalom House is an unaccredited men-only Christian faith-based drug rehabilitation facility located in the Swan Valley about 23 kilometres north of Perth in Western Australia. Operating since 2012, it claims to be the strictest rehabilitation centre in Australia and utilises an ineffectual tough love model to treat residents. While they have stated they are the most successful rehabilitation centre in Australia, they do not track statistics relating to the success rate of the program and rely on anecdotal evidence to support their claim. Publicly available information indicates the success rate of the program is less than 5 per cent. Drug and alcohol experts have stated that the drug treatment field moved away from tough love treatments over 30 years ago due to the lack of evidence supporting them in favour of more successful, evidence-based practices. Residents are required to attend three church services a week and the founder, Peter Lyndon-James, has stated that he converts all residents to Christianity within two days of entering the program.

The Swan Valley is a region in the upper reaches of the Swan River between Guildford and Bells Rapids, Western Australia. It is bordered to the east by the Darling Scarp. Both Ellenbrook and Jane Brook lie within the region and discharge into the Swan River. There are seven suburbs within the region: Baskerville, Belhus, Caversham, Henley Brook, Herne Hill, Millendon and West Swan. It is part of the City of Swan local government area. The Swan Valley Australian Geographical Indication is a sub-region of the larger Swan District wine region. Swan Valley was registered on 6 January 2003 following Swan District being registered on 10 December 1998.

Henley Brook is an outer rural suburb of Perth, Western Australia, part of the Swan Valley wine region. The Ellen brook and Swan River meet in the northeastern corner of the suburb. This is also the farthest upstream Captain Stirling's 1827 exploration reached before deciding on the settlement site of the new colony in 1829. The All Saints Church, the oldest church in Western Australia, is also at this site. The West Australian Reptile Park is a local tourist attraction.

Houghton Wines is an Australian winery originating in the Swan Valley wine region of Western Australia at the historic Houghton Estate. A subsidiary of Accolade Wines, the company operates four of Western Australia's largest vineyards at Moondah Brook (145 hectares), Pemberton (92 hectares), Mount Barker (74 hectares) and Frankland River (89 hectares), and sources fruit from Margaret River, Harvey and the Ferguson Valley. Expansion into the Western Australian South West and the Great Southern wine region led to the establishment of a winery, located at Nannup in the Blackwood Valley. In 2019 Houghton divested itself of its wine producing facilities and vineyards in the Swan Valley, with the Swan Valley location now known as Nikola Estate. The Houghton portfolio includes the brands of Houghton Line Range, Houghton Crofters, Moondah Brook, Houghton Regional Range, Houghton Gladstone and Jack Mann.

The Bennett Brook Railway is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge tourist oriented railway operated by the West Australian Light Railway Preservation Association and is located within the boundaries of Whiteman Park, 19 kilometres (12 mi) from Perth.

Bandyup Women's Prison is located in the northeastern rural Perth suburb of West Swan, Western Australia. Prior to its construction, the female prisoners were at Fremantle Prison, which was overcrowded and offered women limited opportunities. Bandyup Women's Prison holds sentenced and remand prisoners of all security classifications. It is run as a maximum security prison though only 10% of the women are categorised as maximum security. Bandyup Women’s Prison is one of two prisons in the Perth Metropolitan area for women on remand or that have been sentenced. Melaleuca Women’s Prison was built in 2016, as a standalone facility, built on what was previously Units 11 and 12 of Hakea Prison in Canning Vale, Western Australia. The prison is inspected every three years by the state Office for the Inspector of Custodial Services.
