Schie (Dutch pronunciation: [sxi]) the name for four waterways in the area of Overschie, South Holland, the Netherlands. There are the Delftse Schie, the Delfshavense Schie, the Rotterdamse Schie and the Schiedamse Schie. The existence of these four streams is the result of medieval rivalry among the cities of Delft, Rotterdam, and Schiedam for toll rights.

The Schiecentrale is a former power plant and national monument in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The building was designed by the Dutch firm Mei and constructed by the Belgian company Besix upon request of PWS. The building is located in the hip quarter Lloydkwartier in Rotterdam North bank by the river Meuse. This quarter is surrounded by water and hosts high culinary spots, such as restaurant FG Bistro, Hotel Stroom, Berry's Lunchroom.nl, and Verhip Rotterdam.

The Universal Esperanto Association (Esperanto: Universala Esperanto-Asocio, UEA), also known as the World Esperanto Association, is the largest international organization of Esperanto speakers, with 5501 individual members in 121 countries and 9215 through national associations (in 2015) and in official relations with the United Nations. In addition to individual members, 70 national Esperanto organizations are affiliated with UEA. Its current president is the professor Duncan Charters. The magazine Esperanto is the main organ used by UEA to inform its members about everything happening in the Esperanto community. The UEA was founded in 1908 by the Swiss journalist Hector Hodler and others and is now headquartered in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The organization has an office at the United Nations building in New York City.

The Hector Hodler Library is one of the largest Esperanto libraries, with approximately 30,000 books in addition to periodicals, manuscripts, photos, music, and other collections. It occupies three rooms in the central office of the Universal Esperanto Association (UEA) in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The Swiss Esperanto Society opened the library in Switzerland in 1908. In 1912, the library came into the possession of Hector Hodler, the founder of UEA, and after Hodler's death in 1920 the library remained under the management of UEA in Switzerland. In 1947, the library was renamed the Hector Hodler Library, and when UEA headquarters relocated to Rotterdam, the library was moved there in 1960. Other major collections of Esperanto books are at the International Esperanto Museum, the Montagu C. Butler Library, the Center for Documentation and Study about the International Language in Switzerland, and the German Esperanto Library.

FG (formerly Ivy) is a restaurant in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star for the period 2010-2013, and two stars since 2014.GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 17.5 out of 20 points.Head chef of FG is François Geurds, who opened the restaurant in 2009. Geurds, formerly a sous chef in The Fat Duck of Heston Blumenthal, uses Molecular gastronomy in his kitchen.

Dijkzigt is an underground subway station in the city of Rotterdam, and is served by Rotterdam Metro lines A, B, and C. The station is located next to the Erasmus MC (the biggest hospital in the Netherlands) and the Erasmus University. Dijkzigt station was opened on 10 May 1982 as a station of the East-West Line (or Caland line). The station is located underneath the Rochussenstraat and there is interchange with buslines 44 and 46. The station hall houses a small RET office and a few shops.

Richard Visser (1968/1969) is a Dutch pastry chef who runs a pastry stand (Dutch: Richard Visser's Gebakkraam located on the corner of the Heemraadssingel and the Vierambachtsstraat in Rotterdam), which mainly sells oliebollen. In 2011 his oliebollen were named the best in the Netherlands by the Algemeen Dagblad national newspaper in their AD-Oliebollentest; this was his eighth win in nineteen years. He won again in 2013.

Euromast is an observation tower in Rotterdam, Netherlands, designed by Hugh Maaskant constructed between 1958 and 1960. It was specially built for the 1960 Floriade, and is a listed monument since 2010. The tower is a concrete structure with an internal diameter of 9 m (30 ft) and a wall thickness of 30 cm (12 in). For stability it is built on a concrete block of 1,900,000 kg (4,200,000 lb) so that the centre of gravity is below ground. It has a "crow's nest" observation platform 96 m (315 ft) above ground and a restaurant. Originally 101 m (331 ft) in height it was the tallest building in Rotterdam. It lost this position to the high-rise of Erasmus MC (113.5 m, 372 ft) which was completed in 1968, but regained it when the Space Tower was added to the top of the building in 1970, giving an additional 85 m (279 ft). Euromast is the highest building of the Netherlands, it is also a member of the World Federation of Great Towers. In 2008 and 2009, the tower hosted an extreme sports event which featured BASE jumping.
