Parkdale is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Hood River County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 311, up from 266 at the 2000 census.

Mount Hood is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Hood River County, Oregon, United States, about 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Parkdale on Oregon Route 35. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 286. Mount Hood is the terminus of Oregon Route 281, the Hood River Highway. The community was developed on land owned by a settler named Tieman, and the post office was named for Mount Hood, the most notable object in the landscape.In 1976, the United States Postal Service consolidated the post office with that of Parkdale, which was the larger community. Local residents preferred the name "Mount Hood", however, so the post office was named Mount Hood Parkdale.There were two other localities with post offices named Mount Hood in Oregon, one in Wasco County and one in Yamhill County. The Wasco County post office ran from 1872–1878 and the Yamhill County post office ran from 1854–1862. Both places were probably named for their views of Mount Hood.

The Dog River is a small river in Oregon's Cascade Range and drains a few eastern foothills of Mount Hood. It is a tributary of East Fork Hood River and also contributes water for The Dalles and Hood River water systems. It is approximately 8 miles (14 km) long and drains the most southeastern portion of the Hood River watershed. It arises at High Prairie Spring at 6200 ft (1890 m) elevation at the foot of Lookout Mountain (45.3473°N 121.5281°W / 45.3473; -121.5281) and flows northward. It joins with Dog River Springs at 5080 ft (1545 m) and continues surprisingly straight northward considering the mountainous terrain. It meets The Dalles city waterworks gauging station and its diversionary aqueduct intake at 4260 ft (1300 m) then turns NW to Cooks Meadow then turns directly westward. There are several half mile long zigzags north and west before turning straight northward again through steep mountainous forest. It meets the East Fork Hood River at Highway 35 where it also meets Puppy Creek at elevation 2120 (45.4662°N 121.5666°W / 45.4662; -121.5666), which is less than a mile upstream from Cat Creek. The Dog River appears unsuitable for whitewater sports due to its low volume and restricted access for drinking water purposes. The river's name comes from an early name for the Hood River, which was called the Dog River after a party of starving travelers resorting to eating dog meat.

Dee is an unincorporated community and former company town in Hood River County, Oregon, United States, on Oregon Route 281, about 11 miles south of Hood River.

Hood River Valley is the river basin of Hood River in northern Oregon, U.S. It is bounded by the Columbia River to the north, Mount Hood to the south, the Cascade Range crest to the west and an apparently unnamed ridge system to the east which contains Hood River Mountain and Snyder Canyon. Mount Hood National Forest surrounds the Hood River Valley west, south, and east. It is entirely contained in Hood River County. The only city in the valley is Hood River. The major unincorporated communities are Odell, Parkdale, Mount Hood, and Dee. The valley is known for its tree fruit agriculture—including one of the world's largest pear growing areas—farm tourism, and recreation related to its evergreen forested mountains providing opportunities such as hiking, mountain biking, whitewater sports, camping, and 31 fishing lakes. On the Columbia River is one of the top rated water sports areas in the world, particularly for kite boarding and wind surfing. On Mount Hood, snow sports draw thousands daily primarily at Mount Hood Meadows, but also Cooper Spur ski area on the east side of Mount Hood. Alpine hiking and mountain climbing are popular as well.

Bloucher is an unincorporated historic community west of Odell in Hood River County, Oregon, United States.Bloucher was a station on the Mount Hood Railroad named for local resident H. E. Bloucher. It was also known as Bloucher Spur.

Odell is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Hood River County, Oregon, United States. Odell was named for an early pioneer, William Odell, a native of Tennessee by way of California, who settled in the area in 1861. The population was 2,255 as of the 2010 census.

Lenz is an unincorporated community in Hood River County, Oregon, United States just west of Oregon Route 35 about a mile and a half east of Odell. This station on the Mount Hood Railroad was named after John Lenz, an early settler. Lenz Butte and Lenz Creek are nearby. The name of the station has also been spelled Lentz and was also known as "Sherman Spur". The elevation is 732 feet (223 m).

The Martin and Carrie Hill House, also known as The Gorge White House, is a historic residence located on rural orchard land near Hood River, Oregon, United States. It may be the finest and most ornate example of the Dutch Colonial Revival architectural style in the vicinity of Hood River, incorporating a large array of the distinctive features of the style. Characteristic elements include a gambrel roof, symmetric, rectilinear form, fanlights, dormers, dentils, balconies, window keystones, fluted columns, and others. The house also displays a very high degree of historic integrity on both the exterior and interior, with only minor alterations since its construction in 1910. Martin Hill (1869–1939) and his orchard property surrounding the house were prominent in the development of the apple industry in the Hood River Valley. He was active in business and community affairs, including service as a Hood River County Commissioner and Oregon state legislator. He built this elaborate house in 1910, several years after purchasing his orchard land in 1901, in order to reconcile his wife Carrie (d. 1916) to their relocation from Iowa.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. It was opened to the public as an agricultural tourism business that same year.

Ken Jernstedt Airfield (FAA LID: 4S2) is a public airport located two miles (3.2 km) south of the city of Hood River in Hood River County, Oregon, United States. The fixed-base operator is TacAero, which also bases its tailwheel flight school there. It flies a large fleet of Piper J3 Cubs and Super Cubs and are a big attraction for tourists wanting a scenic flight around the city and Mount Hood. The airport is named after Kenneth Jernstedt, a former state legislator, mayor of Hood River, and World War II Flying Tigers aviator.
