The station lies of the Berlin Northern Railway and the train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn including Berlin S-Bahn services. Some of the station's tracks are electrified using both DC using the third rail system of the Berlin S-Bahn and AC using the overhead line system of the Deutsche Bahn long-distance lines. The so-called "Rote Brücke" (red bridge), a pedestrian bridge that leads over the railway tracks, is a protected monument.
