Wilkeson Arch is a monumental gateway structure at the west entrance to Wilkeson, Washington. The stone and timber structure was built in 1925 by the Wilkeson Booster Club, at a cost of $2000. It is similar in design to the Chinook Pass, Nisqually and White River entrance arches in nearby Mount Rainier National Park, deriving its style from the National Park Service Rustic style prevailing in the national park structures of the time. The arch was intended to promote tourism and the local products, coal and sandstone.

Holy Trinity Orthodox Church is a historic church in Wilkeson, Washington. The church was founded by Eastern European Slavic immigrants from the Carpathian Mountains of eastern Czechoslovakia. It was built in a Gothic Revival style and was added to the National Register in 1989. Holy Trinity Orthodox Church is the oldest Orthodox church in Washington State. The building is a simple design that blends the lines of an American Gothic meetinghouse with the onion dome and interior iconography of the Slavic Orthodox faith. The church has served the Eastern European community across the mining towns of eastern Pierce County.

The Wilkeson Coke Ovens are from the early industrial period in Washington. The ovens are a result of the growth of the railroad in Puget Sound. Washington's coal industry was an enterprise with much promise but has never grown. It has remains a subdued element in the history of the Puget Sound Region. The Pierce County beehive coke ovens, of which those at Wilkeson were the most numerous and active, were the sole supply of coke in the coastal area. The coke ovens were added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 10, 1974.

Wilkeson School is a public elementary school building in Wilkeson, Washington. Built in 1912 and still in operation, making it the oldest elementary school in Washington still in use, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

White River High School is a public secondary school located on an 84-acre (34 ha) site just outside Buckley, Washington, United States. Before 1949, it was known as "Buckley High School" but with a merger with "Enumclaw High School" in neighboring Enumclaw, the school became known as White River. In 1952, the voters (especially the Chamber of Commerce) of the City of Enumclaw voted to form their own district.

Carbonado () is a town in Pierce County, Washington, United States. It is located near the Carbon River in the north of the county, approximately 50 miles (80 km) southeast of Seattle. Carbonado is the last town before entering Mount Rainier National Park and is also a popular spot for off-roading. The town also served as an important coal mining community in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, when the town operated the largest coal mine in Pierce County. The population was 734 at the 2020 census.

Osceola was an unincorporated community that existed in King County, Washington, around the turn of the 20th century, about two miles southeast of Enumclaw. Today not much remains except the last surviving one-room schoolhouse on the Enumclaw plateau; it is now the Osceola Community Club, a women's social club. The Osceola Mudflow that spread from nearby Mount Rainier approximately 5,000 years ago forms much of the Enumclaw plateau, and was named after the community.
