Lansing River Trail

Sycamore Creek is a tributary of the Red Cedar River in the state of Michigan in the United States. The stream is 26.5 miles (42.6 km) long and drains an area of 106.1 square miles (275 km2) on the central Lower Peninsula, in and around the city of Lansing. Via the Red Cedar River, it is part of the watershed of the Grand River, which flows to Lake Michigan. Via Lake Michigan and the Great Lakes system, it is part of the larger watershed of the St. Lawrence River. Sycamore Creek flows for its entire length in Ingham County. It begins in Leslie Township, approximately 2.4 miles (3.9 km) northwest of the city of Leslie, and flows generally north-northwestward through Leslie and Vevay townships; the city of Mason; Alaiedon and Delhi townships; and the southeastern part of the city of Lansing. It flows into the Red Cedar River in Lansing, 1.6 miles (2.6 km) upstream of the Red Cedar River's mouth at the Grand River.

The Listening Ear Crisis Intervention Center of East Lansing, Michigan is the oldest all volunteer crisis center operating in the United States. The Listening Ear Crisis Intervention Center has been open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year since July 15, 1969 and has served more than 300,000 phone and walk-in clients. The center provides free and confidential service for telephone and walk-in clients in crisis. The center also provides free sexual assault counseling, advocacy and community education to survivors of sexual assault and their significant others.

The Marshall Street Armory (also known as the Lansing Artillery Michigan National Guard Armory) is a former armory for the Michigan National Guard. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Sparrow Hospital is a 733-bed teaching hospital located in Lansing, Michigan that provides care for the greater Mid-Michigan region. The hospital is a subsidiary of Sparrow Health System, and is affiliated with the Colleges of Human Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine at nearby Michigan State University. Sparrow Hospital operates the only dedicated pediatric and adult emergency department in the region. The emergency department is a level I trauma center, as verified by the American College of Surgeons. It is also a Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. Sparrow also has modern operating rooms, multiple helipads, an oncology center, heart and vascular center, and orthopedic department. In addition, 4,500 births are performed at Sparrow Hospital annually.

Sparrow Health System is a comprehensive, integrated health care organization located in Central Michigan. More than 900 physicians are affiliated with Sparrow Health System.Two for profit financing organizations, the Physicians Health Plan and the Sparrow Physicians Health Plan, are owned and operated by Sparrow Health System. Hospitals within the Sparrow Health System include Sparrow Hospital and Sparrow Specialty Hospital (Long Term Acute Care formerly located at the old St. Lawrence Hospital) in Lansing, Clinton Memorial Hospital, Carson City Hospital, Sparrow Eaton Hospital (formerly Hayes Green Beach Hospital) and Ionia County Memorial Hospital. The Michigan Athletic Club, located in Lansing, is also a subsidiary of Sparrow Health System. The Sparrow Health System Laboratory performs over 3 million tests per year, at various laboratory sites, which include four remote testing facilities and thirteen patient service centers. A portion of Sparrow employees are represented by the Michigan Nurses Association and the UAW Local 4911. In April 2023, Michigan Medicine and Sparrow launched an affiliation.

Lansing Catholic High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Lansing, Michigan. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lansing.

The Walter French Junior High School, formerly known as the Walter French Academy or the Walter French Academy of Business and Technology, is a three-story school building located at the corner of Mount Hope and Cedar in Lansing, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

The Red Cedar River is a tributary of the Grand River in central Michigan in the United States. The river is approximately 51.1 miles (82.2 km) long and drains a watershed of approximately 461 square miles (1,190 km2) in the Lansing–East Lansing metropolitan area and suburban and rural areas to the east. The river flows through the campus of Michigan State University, and is considered a cultural symbol of the school, including being mentioned in the school's fight song.

The Union Depot is a former train station, located at 637 E. Michigan Avenue in Lansing, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. Despite the union name, Grand Trunk Western trains stopped at a different station in Lansing 1.5 miles away.

The Grand Trunk Western station was a historic railroad station in Lansing, Michigan. The station was listed as a Michigan State Historic Site in 1978, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Frandor Shopping Center, in Lansing, Michigan, is located at the very eastern edge of the city bordering the neighboring city of East Lansing and freeway US Highway 127. It is a 450,000-square-foot (41,800 m2) strip center anchored by a Kroger supermarket, HomeGoods, Michaels, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Guitar Center, and Cost Plus World Market.

Jackson Field is a baseball stadium in Lansing, Michigan, home field of the Lansing Lugnuts minor league baseball team. The Michigan State Spartans college baseball team also plays select home games at Jackson Field. The stadium is situated in downtown Lansing in the Stadium District on a relatively narrow strip of land between and below Larch and Cedar streets. It is primarily used for baseball, though it has also hosted an ice skating rink, an outdoor movie theater, a haunted house, and served as a concert venue for the annual Common Ground Music Festival. Due to the dimensions of the city block in which the stadium was constructed, the right and left field fences 'notch' sharply into distances of 305 feet (93 m) at each foul pole.
