Neasden

Dudding Hill railway station was a station in Neasden, London NW2 on the Dudding Hill Line. The station was opened in 1875 by the Midland Railway, originally as "Dudding Hill, for Willesden & Neasden". It closed to passengers in 1902, despite providing access to the neighbouring new Gladstone Park, and goods services ceased in 1964. Although the platforms were demolished, the station building survived into the 1980s, when the land was used for housing (Cornmow Drive was built on the site). The Dudding Hill Line offers a connection between the North London Line at Acton and the Midland Main Line at Brent Cross and Cricklewood. It is now only used for freight, but has recently been incorporated into the proposed West London Orbital railway.

Neasden is a London Underground station in Neasden. It is on the Jubilee line, between Wembley Park and Dollis Hill. Metropolitan line trains pass through the station but do not stop, except on rare occasions. The Chiltern Main Line/London to Aylesbury Line runs to the west of the station.

The College of North West London (CNWL) is a large further education college in north-west London, England. It was established in 1991 by the merger between Willesden Technical College and Kilburn Polytechnic in the London Borough of Brent. Today there are two campuses in the borough, in Willesden and Wembley Park, while a smaller training centre also exists in King's Cross in the borough of Camden. Over 11,000 students were enrolled at the college as of 2015.In August 2017, the College of North West London legally merged with City of Westminster College (CWC) to form United Colleges Group. However, both CNWL and CWC are maintaining public use of their original names, logos and identities.

Brent Central is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. It is currently represented, since 2015, by Dawn Butler of the Labour Party.

Our Lady of Willesden is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated by Christians in London, especially by Anglicans and Catholics. It is associated with the historic image (statue) and pilgrimage centre in the community of Willesden, originally a village in Middlesex, England, but now a suburb of London. The pre-Reformation shrine was home to the Black Madonna of Willesden statue.

Willesden was a local government district in the county of Middlesex, England from 1874 to 1965. It formed part of the Metropolitan Police District and London postal district. Willesden was part of the built-up area of London and bordered the County of London to the east and south.

Neasden Junction is a railway junction in Neasden, London. This is where the mainline from Marylebone diverges into two main lines: the Chiltern Main Line, which runs towards High Wycombe, Oxford and Birmingham, and the London to Aylesbury Line. The Aylesbury Line used to be the main route of the Great Central Main Line, until the Chiltern Main Line was built to replace it, rejoining the old route north of Aylesbury. The Great Central ran to Rugby, Leicester, Nottingham, Sheffield and Manchester until it was closed due to the Beeching axe in 1966. Just south-east of the mainline junction the freight line (Dudding Hill Line) from Acton splits into two, one line continuing onwards north-east to Cricklewood and the other joining the Chiltern Main Line westbound. There are a few sidings for freight and maintenance trains. There used to be a locomotive shed but this was knocked down during the 1960s. The Metropolitan line and Jubilee line run east of the junction and Neasden Underground station also lies east to the junction. The North Circular Road goes over the junction using a Victorian bridge.

Dollis Hill is a London Underground station at Dollis Hill near to Willesden and Gladstone Park of the London Borough of Brent. It is on the Jubilee line, between Willesden Green and Neasden stations and is in Travelcard Zone 3. Metropolitan line trains pass through the station without stopping here. The station has no surface buildings.

The Crest Boys' Academy (formerly John Kelly Boys' Technology College) was a secondary school with academy status located in Neasden in the London Borough of Brent. The school was founded as John Kelly Boys' School in 1958 and was set in pleasant and extensive grounds. The school was served by a number of bus routes (332, 245, 182, 16) and was close to Neasden and Dollis Hill Underground stations. John Kelly Boys' Technology College turned into an academy on 1 September 2009, and became Crest Boys' Academy (sponsored by E-ACT). The school was situated next to Crest Girls' Academy; the schools shared a sixth form. Due to concerns regarding the quality of education at both Crest Boys’ Academy and Crest Girls’ Academy following a grading of Satisfactory by Ofsted, an Executive Principal Phil Hearne was appointed to lead both schools. An Ofsted report in June 2013 placed the school in special measures, stating that it offered an inadequate standard of education. In October 2013 Billy O’Keeffe, the Head of School resigned. In April 2014 a new Principal Director Elroy Cahill was appointed. The Academy underwent a restructure with new teaching and leadership appointments to drive forward standards. The Crest Boys' Academy merged with the Crest Girls' Academy and Crest Sixth Form to become E-ACT Crest Academy, which moved into a new £40,000,000 building in September 2014.

The Crest Girls' Academy, formerly known as John Kelly Girls' Technology College, was a girls' secondary school with academy status located in Neasden, Brent, North West London. The school was situated next to Crest Boys' Academy; the schools shared a sixth form. All three schools were amalgamated into E-ACT Crest Academy, which opened in September 2014. The Crest Girls' Academy was sponsored by E-ACT. The school was one of the first to gain a specialism in the specialist schools movement. Crest Girls had three specialisms: Technology (1998) Languages (2004) and Training Schools. An Ofsted report in June 2013 judged the school as having serious weakness and offering an inadequate standard of education. The Academy underwent a restructure with new teaching and leadership appointments to drive forward standards. The Academy sought consultation over plans to merge Crest Girls' Academy and Crest Boys' Academy into one school, retaining single sex education. The Academy was due to merge in September 2014 and set to move into its new £40 million building also. GCSE headline figures for the school had risen in recent years. In 2011 43% of students attending Crest Girls' Academy achieved 5 A*-C grades at GCSE including English and Maths. This rose to 51% 5A*-C grades at GCSE including English and Maths in 2012 and 56% in 2013.

E-ACT Crest Academy is a secondary school with academy status located in Neasden, Brent, North West London. The school opened in September 2014 replacing Crest Girls' Academy, Crest Boys' Academy and Crest Sixth Form. E-ACT Crest Academy serves the local communities of Neasden, Dollis Hill and Cricklewood. The school was the centre of controversy in June 2015 when the leadership of the school scrapped the retention of single gender teaching, instead opting for a co-educational, integrated model against the wishes of some parents. E-ACT Crest Academy is sponsored by E-ACT. who provide support through a Systems Leader, who challenges and supports the academy. The school's System Leader is Dame Joan McVittie. The school has undergone a transformation with a significant increase in GCSE results, achieving 53% 5A*-C including English & Maths in 2016, reversing a period of decline at the school.E-ACT Crest Academy is led by Mohsen Ojja, who joined in January 2015 and has installed a new Leadership Team. Shortly after his appointment the school was inspected by Ofsted and deemed to require Special Measures for the third consecutive time. In October 2016, the Academy was graded 'Good' in all areas by Ofsted.In September 2014, E-ACT Crest Academy opened in a new £40 million building, designed by Capita Symonds and built by Wates Construction.

Church End, commonly known locally as "Church Road", is a small locality in the London Borough of Brent, located north of Harlesden, west of Willesden and south of Neasden. The population is predominantly Afro-Caribbean. The street Church Road is the main thoroughfare of the neighbourhood, which also includes a short crescent at the northern end, just off Willesden Magistrates Court. To the west, the Dudding Hill Line and Taylors Lane Power Station separates it from Brentfield Road in Stonebridge. The nearest train station at its northern end is Neasden and at its southern end is Harlesden. Bus routes 260 and 266 serve Church Road, with 297 at the northern end and 18/N18 at the southern end.
