Neasden tube station

Neasden is a suburban area in northwest London, England. It is located around the centre of the London Borough of Brent and is within the NW2 (Cricklewood) and NW10 (Willesden) postal districts. Neasden is near Wembley Stadium, the Welsh Harp, and Gladstone Park; the reservoir and River Brent marks its boundaries with Kingsbury and Wembley, while Gladstone Park and the Dudding Hill line separates it from Dollis Hill and Church End respectively. The A406 North Circular Road runs through the middle of Neasden; to the west is the Neasden Underground Depot, Brent Park retail area and the St Raphael's Estate; on the east is Neasden tube station, the large Neasden Temple, and former Neasden Power Station. The area is known as the place where Bob Marley lived after moving from Jamaica, living at a house in The Circle; the house was honoured with a blue plaque in 2012.

Neasden Junction is a railway junction in Neasden, London. This is where the mainline from Marylebone diverges into two main lines: the Chiltern Main Line, which runs towards High Wycombe, Oxford and Birmingham, and the London to Aylesbury Line. The Aylesbury Line used to be the main route of the Great Central Main Line, until the Chiltern Main Line was built to replace it, rejoining the old route north of Aylesbury. The Great Central ran to Rugby, Leicester, Nottingham, Sheffield and Manchester until it was closed due to the Beeching axe in 1966. Just south-east of the mainline junction the freight line (Dudding Hill Line) from Acton splits into two, one line continuing onwards north-east to Cricklewood and the other joining the Chiltern Main Line westbound. There are a few sidings for freight and maintenance trains. There used to be a locomotive shed but this was knocked down during the 1960s. The Metropolitan line and Jubilee line run east of the junction and Neasden Underground station also lies east to the junction. The North Circular Road goes over the junction using a Victorian bridge.

Brent Central is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. It is currently represented, since 2015, by Dawn Butler of the Labour Party.

Our Lady of Willesden is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated by Christians in London, especially by Anglicans and Catholics. It is associated with the historic image (statue) and pilgrimage centre in the community of Willesden, originally a village in Middlesex, England, but now a suburb of London. The pre-Reformation shrine was home to the Black Madonna of Willesden statue.

The College of North West London (CNWL) is a large further education college in north-west London, England. It was established in 1991 by the merger between Willesden Technical College and Kilburn Polytechnic in the London Borough of Brent. Today there are two campuses in the borough, in Willesden and Wembley Park, while a smaller training centre also exists in King's Cross in the borough of Camden. Over 11,000 students were enrolled at the college as of 2015.In August 2017, the College of North West London legally merged with City of Westminster College (CWC) to form United Colleges Group. However, both CNWL and CWC are maintaining public use of their original names, logos and identities.

Dudding Hill railway station was a station in Neasden, London NW2 on the Dudding Hill Line. The station was opened in 1875 by the Midland Railway, originally as "Dudding Hill, for Willesden & Neasden". It closed to passengers in 1902, despite providing access to the neighbouring new Gladstone Park, and goods services ceased in 1964. Although the platforms were demolished, the station building survived into the 1980s, when the land was used for housing (Cornmow Drive was built on the site). The Dudding Hill Line offers a connection between the North London Line at Acton and the Midland Main Line at Brent Cross and Cricklewood. It is now only used for freight, but has recently been incorporated into the proposed West London Orbital railway.

Brent Park is a retail area of Neasden in the London Borough of Brent, located by the A406 North Circular Road and to the south of Neasden Depot. It includes an IKEA store, along with a Tesco Extra superstore, and bounded by a McDonald's restaurant on the south-west.

Church End, commonly known locally as "Church Road", is a small locality in the London Borough of Brent, located north of Harlesden, west of Willesden and south of Neasden. The population is predominantly Afro-Caribbean. The street Church Road is the main thoroughfare of the neighbourhood, which also includes a short crescent at the northern end, just off Willesden Magistrates Court. To the west, the Dudding Hill Line and Taylors Lane Power Station separates it from Brentfield Road in Stonebridge. The nearest train station at its northern end is Neasden and at its southern end is Harlesden. Bus routes 260 and 266 serve Church Road, with 297 at the northern end and 18/N18 at the southern end.

Willesden was a local government district in the county of Middlesex, England from 1874 to 1965. It formed part of the Metropolitan Police District and London postal district. Willesden was part of the built-up area of London and bordered the County of London to the east and south.

Neasden Depot is a London Underground depot located in Neasden in the London Borough of Brent, between Neasden and Wembley Park stations on the Metropolitan line. It is the largest depot on the London Underground, and is currently responsible for maintenance and overhaul of the 191 S Stock trains used on the Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines.

Neasden Hospital was built in 1894 by Willesden District Council as an isolation hospital in Neasden. During the First World War its name was changed to Willesden Municipal Hospital. When it joined the National Health Service in 1948 it had 200 beds. A newly refurbished theatre block was opened in 1949 with 16 beds for tonsillectomy patients.In 1985 it was the site of a workers occupation aiming to keep the hospital open. It closed in 1986.

St Raphael's Estate is a housing estate in Neasden and part of the London Borough of Brent in Northwest London, England. A community centre is located within the estate on Rainborough Close. It forms part of the NW10 postcode. The low-density estate was built between 1967 and 1982, although some of the land dates back further as Brentfield Estate. It has about 1,174 properties of which the vast majority are owned by the local Brent authority. The estate has a relatively high rate of child poverty, and its geographic location makes it somewhat isolated from Wembley or other retail town centres. To its east, St Raphael's Estate is cut by the A406 North Circular Road dual carriageway, while to its west the River Brent and a recreational ground separates it from the Tokyngton locality of Wembley. The superstores of Brent Park are directly to its north. It is proposed as of 2010 that 21 new homes will be built on the estate.The majority of the inhabitants are of Afro-Caribbean heritage.
