Mill Hill

Mill Hill School is a 13–18 co-educational private, day and boarding school in Mill Hill, London, England that was established in 1807. It is a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference.

The Mill Field is a 3.4-hectare (8.4-acre) Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II, in Mill Hill in the London Borough of Barnet. It is a public open space which slopes steeply down from the road called The Ridgeway. It may be the site of the windmill which gave the area its name. This was documented as early as 1321 and had disappeared by 1754.The upper part, which has good views across west London, is managed as a park and has a football pitch. The lower slopes are less managed, with grassland, hedgerows marking former field boundaries, scattered trees, and areas of creeping thistle. A small stream, probably a tributary of Burnt Oak Brook, flows from a spring fed pond, which has a rich wetland flora. Wild flowers include devil's-bit scabious and Common Tormentil, and the small copper butterfly is found there.There is access from The Ridgeway near Hammers Lane.

The Mount, Mill Hill International is a coeducational independent day and boarding school located in Mill Hill, North London and forms part of the Mill Hill School Foundation, close to the main Mill Hill School site. Boarding houses are shared with Mill Hill pupils, and the international pupils have full use of the Senior School’s facilities. Until July 2014, the Mount School was an independent GSA day school for girls aged 3–16. It had been founded with 10 pupils in 1925 by Mary McGregor in North Grove, Highgate Village. The number of pupils increased gradually and in 1935 it relocated to Mill Hill.In December 2013 The Mount merged with the Mill Hill School Foundation. A £4,000,000 renovation project involved the complete refurbishment of all classrooms, the re-landscaping of the grounds, the updating of the science facilities and a new IT and food technology suite.

Arrandene Open Space and Featherstone Hill is a 25 hectare Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation in Mill Hill in the London Borough of Barnet. Arrandene Open Space is a large area of pasture divided by ancient hedgerows, and it is one of London's rare traditionally managed old hay meadows. It contains numerous uncommon plant species characteristic of unimproved grassland, such as greater bird's-foot trefoil, common knapweed and ox-eye daisy.Trees include the uncommon wild service tree, and breeding birds include spotted flycatcher, lesser whitethroat, reed bunting and skylark. Featherstone Hill is a partly wooded hill in the south west of the site. It was purchased by Hendon Council in 1929 to preserve it for public recreation at a time when the area was rapidly developing.There is free public access to the site, which has a network of public footpaths and a bridleway. There are entrances in Wise Lane, Milespit Hill and Wills Grove.

Drivers Hill is a ten hectare Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II, in Mill Hill in the London Borough of Barnet. It is owned by the Jehovah's Witnesses, who built their national headquarters, Watch Tower House, on the site in 1955. The house is a major printing works where 120 million Jehovah's Witnesses periodicals were printed in 2002.Drivers Hill consists of a number of fields and two small woods. The fields contain some species of flower typical of old pasture, such as crested dog's tail, oval sedge and lady's bedstraw. The larger wood, which is at the north of the site, is called Wentworth Hall Wood, and has a canopy mainly of pedunculate oak and ash. The other wood, in the south-west corner, is dominated by oak and sycamore.There is no public access, but the fields can be viewed from the end of Woodcote Avenue, and the south-west wood from Milespit Hill and Mill Hill Cemetery.

The National Institute for Medical Research (commonly abbreviated to NIMR), was a medical research institute based in Mill Hill, on the outskirts of north London, England. It was funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC); In 2016, the NIMR became part of the new Francis Crick Institute, which was constructed next to St Pancras railway station in the Camden area of central London.

Mill Hill Park is a large (14.3 hectare) public park in Mill Hill in the London Borough of Barnet. It one of Barnet's premier parks and it has been given a Green Flag Award.The park straddles the A1 with the main park to the east linked by an underpass to a smaller mainly grassed area to the west. It has formal flowerbeds, large areas of mown grassland, many impressive mature trees, and a Community Forest Nature Reserve, planted in 1993-94. Recreational facilities include a cricket pitch, football pitches, three tennis courts, a basketball court, two bowling greens, crazy golf, children's playgrounds, a cafe, car parks and toilets. It is supported by a full-time keeper and an active Friends of Mill Hill Park.There is access from Wise Lane, Daws Lane, Flower Lane, Watford Way and The Rise.

Copthall School (formerly Copthall County Grammar School) is a girls' secondary school and sixth form located in the Mill Hill area of the London Borough of Barnet, England. The school was formed in 1973 by the amalgamation of Copthall County Grammar School and Woodcroft Secondary Modern. The original 1930s grammar school building has been joined to a new wing of equal size. A new library opened in 1999 and the school received an excellence award from the DfES in 2001.The school was converted to academy status in October 2012, and was previously a community school under the direct control of Barnet London Borough Council. The school continues to coordinate with Barnet London Borough Council for admissions. Copthall School offers GCSEs, City and Guilds qualifications and ESOL courses as programmes of study for pupils. Students in the sixth form have the option to study a range of A Levels.

Totteridge Fields is a 97-hectare Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) in Totteridge in the London Borough of Barnet. The SINC includes the privately owned Highwood Hill, and at the western end is a seven-hectare Local Nature Reserve owned by Barnet Council and managed by the London Wildlife Trust.The Local Nature Reserve is an ancient hay meadow habitat consisting of three fields, known as Nutt Field, Hen Mead and Nearer Slay Land, with hawthorn and blackthorn hedgerows. The entrance is on Hendon Wood Lane, Arkley.The main part of the site consists of a large area of uncultivated grassland and old hedgerows between Totteridge Common and Mays Lane, crossing Dollis Brook, which is also an SINC. The grassland has a wide range of wildflowers, such as sneezewort and harebell. The site also hosts the declining skylark and several rare beetles and spiders.The Dollis Valley Greenwalk and London Loop cross Totteridge Fields.

Totteridge Common is a 3.7 hectare Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II, in Totteridge in the London Borough of Barnet. The nature reserve is the southern verge of the road Totteridge Common, between Totteridge Park and Oak Lodge. It is registered common land owned by the Totteridge Manor Association and comprised the lands of the former Manor of Totteridge which were transferred to the association in 1954.

UCL Observatory (called the University of London Observatory until 2015) at Mill Hill in London is an astronomical teaching observatory. It is part of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at University College London.

The Rising Sun is a Grade II listed public house at Highwood Hill and 137 Marsh Lane, Mill Hill, London.It was built in the late 17th century.It is currently run by the Delneva brothers and functions as a restaurant, with an Italian/ Asian-influenced menu.
