Kennington

Oval is an area in south London, in the London Borough of Lambeth. It is part of Kennington near The Oval cricket ground, situated 2.1 miles (3.38 km) to the south-east of Charing Cross. Oval straddles the border of south-west London and south-east London, and is where the postcode SE11 converges with the postcodes SW8 and SW9. Oval is within the borough constituency of Vauxhall. The Member of Parliament for the area is Florence Eshalomi of the Labour Party.

Vauxhall is a constituency represented in the House of Commons by Florence Eshalomi of Labour Co-op since her election in 2019.

The Musaeum Tradescantianum was the first museum open to the public to be established in England. Located in South Lambeth, London, it comprised a collection of curiosities assembled by John Tradescant the elder and his son in a building called The Ark, and a botanical collection in the grounds of the building. Turret House, the family home, was demolished in 1881 and the estate has been redeveloped; the house stood on the site of the present Tradescant Road and Walberswick Street, off South Lambeth Road. Tradescant divided the exhibits into natural objects (naturalia) and manmade objects (artificialia). The first account of the collection, by Peter Mundy, is from 1634. After the death of the younger Tradescant and his wife, the collection passed into the hands of the wealthy collector Elias Ashmole, who in 1691 gave it to Oxford University as the nucleus of the newly founded Ashmolean Museum.The Tradescant collection is the earliest major English cabinet of curiosities. Other famous collections in Europe preceded it, for example Emperor Rudolf II's Kunst- und Wunderkammer was well established at Prague by the end of the 16th century. In 2015 the Garden Museum received a £3.5 million Heritage Lottery grant to recreate a part of the original Ark with loans from the Ashmolean Museum

Vauxhall Park is a Green Flag Award-winning municipal park in Vauxhall, South London, run by Lambeth Council. It occupies an 8.5-acre site, and was created at a cost of around £45,000, following a public campaign led by the suffragist Millicent Fawcett, the social reformer Octavia Hill and members of the Kyrle Society. The land was purchased from a local developer under the Vauxhall Park Act 1888. and the houses of Lawn Terrace demolished accordingly. The new park was formally opened in 1890 by the Prince of Wales.

Bonnington Square is a square in Vauxhall, south London, which was built in the 1870s. It became famous in the 1980s when all the houses in it, vacant and awaiting demolition, were squatted.

The Triangle Adventure Playground is an Adventure playground that has operated in Oval, in south London since 1957. It is the oldest adventure playground in London that is still located on its original site.

The Wheatsheaf Hall is a former Congregational Church mission hall in Vauxhall, south London. It is a grade II listed building.It opened in 1896 as the Wheatsheaf Congregational Church Mission and was used as a mission hall and public library until 1939. In 1980 Lambeth Council started the process to turn it into a tenants' hall and community centre. It opened in 1988 as Wheatsheaf Hall Community Centre. In 2020 it was used as a COVID-19 testing centre as part of NHS Test and Trace. It is also used a venue for music charity " In Harmony" and is often rented out for private use.

Lilian Baylis Technology School (LBTS) is a secondary school for students from ages 11–19, in Kennington, London, England.

St Anne's Church is a Roman Catholic church at 363 Kennington Lane, Vauxhall, London SE11. It was built in about 1903–07, designed by Frederick Walters, and has been Grade II listed since 1981. Its presbytery is the St Anne's House next door.
