Thiersee

Langkampfen is a municipality in the Austrian state of Tyrol between Kufstein (8 km southwest below) and Wörgl (8 km north above). The name comes from the Latin Longus campus, which means the long field.

Kufstein-Langkampfen Airport (German: Flugplatz Kufstein-Langkampfen, ICAO: LOIK) is a private use airport located 3 kilometres (2 mi) southwest of Kufstein, Tirol, Austria.

The Thiersee Lake lies in the center of Vorderthiersee in the valley with the same name on a height of 616 m. It is surrounded by mountains forming a kettle. The lake can be reached by car or by local bus from Kufstein via the valley. The Lake can be used for bathing and possesses an excellent water quality of Grade A. Several possibilities like boat trips, swimming, Beach volley and others are given. The best conditions are in June because in Summer the water can warm up to 24 °C. Several small creeks provide the Lake with fresh water. The Thiersee Ache drains the Lake, has a length of 7 km, which merges with the Inn River anew.

Mariastein is the smallest municipality in the Kufstein district in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 4 kilometers north of Wörgl and 11.5 kilometers southwest of Kufstein. Already a fifteenth century pilgrimage destination, it became more popular after a local statue of Mary, which had been removed to Bavaria in the late seventeenth century, was said to have returned to the church in Mariastein on its own. At the center of the community is a 42-metre-tall Wohnturm, a castle built in the fourteenth century atop a rock outcropping, and which contains 250 stairs. It now houses multiple chapels and a museum.

Kirchbichl is a municipality in the Kufstein District in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 10 km south of Kufstein and 3 km northeast above Wörgl. It has six parts and its main source of income is cement industry.

Schwoich is a municipality in the Kufstein district in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 5.50 km south of Kufstein at the southern side of the Inn River. The village has nine hamlets. Settlement of the area began in the 6th century but the community was mentioned for the first time as "Swiuch / Schweng" in 1280. The area became famous because of a large deposit of blueberries. Other important sources of income are cement industry and tourism (particularly associated with sport activities).

Bad Häring (Central Bavarian: Bod Hearing) is a municipality in the Kufstein district in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 4.30 km northwest of Wörgl and 9 km south of Kufstein. A strong sulfur source was found in 1951 resulting in foundation of health tourism. In 1996 the location was named the "first air spa of Tyrol“.

Angath is a municipality in the Kufstein district in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 2 km north of Wörgl and 13 km southwest of Kufstein on the northern shore of the Inn River. The village has 6 parts and acts as a dormitory suburb for commuters from Wörgl and Kufstein.

The Bezirk Kufstein is an administrative district (bezirk) in Tyrol, Austria. It borders Bavaria (Germany) in the north, the Kitzbühel district in the southeast, and the Schwaz district in the southwest. The district has a geographical area of 969.81 km², and a population of 101,321 (2012) giving a population density of 104 people per km². The administrative center is Kufstein. The district comprises the lower part of the Tyrolean Inn valley as far as the Bavarian border, the Alpbach valley, the Brandenberg valley, Wildschönau, and Thiersee. Mountain ranges within the district include the Brandenberg Alps, Kitzbühel Alps, and the Kaisergebirge. The largest lakes are the Reintal lakes, Thiersee, Hechtsee, Hintersteiner See and Walchsee.

The Brixentaler Ache is a river of Tyrol, Austria, a right tributary of the Inn. It passes through the districts of Kitzbühel and Kufstein. It is one of the largest tributaries of the Inn in the Tyrolean Unterland by catchment area (329 km2 (127 sq mi)), but is only 26.4 km (16.4 mi) long.
