Angath is a municipality in the Kufstein district in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 2 km north of Wörgl and 13 km southwest of Kufstein on the northern shore of the Inn River. The village has 6 parts and acts as a dormitory suburb for commuters from Wörgl and Kufstein.

The Battle of Wörgl or Wörgel was fought on 13 May 1809, when a Bavarian force under French Marshal François Joseph Lefebvre attacked an Austrian Empire detachment commanded by Johann Gabriel Chasteler de Courcelles. The Bavarians severely defeated Chasteler's soldiers in series of actions in the Austrian towns of Wörgl, Söll, and Rattenberg. Wörgl is located 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of the modern-day German border on the upper Inn River. Civilian militia of the County of Tyrol rose in revolt under commander-in-chief Andreas Hofer supported by a strategic council at the start of the War of the Fifth Coalition. The hardy mountaineers rapidly banded together in irregular units and killed, captured, or routed the area's Bavarian and French garrisons. The patriot volunteering troopers were soon joined by Feldmarschall-Leutnant Chasteler's regular division sent from the Austrian Army of Inner Austria. In mid-May, Lefebvre advanced on the Tyrol from the north and northeast with the Bavarian VII Corps. After the Bavarians mauled Chasteler's regulars at Wörgl, the Austrian general abandoned Tyrol and attempted to join with the retreating army in Hungary. The victory allowed the Bavarians to temporarily reoccupy Innsbruck, though not without additional fighting. The Tyrolean Civil Revolt, however, was far from over. Even after the regular Austrian armies met defeat at the Battle of Wagram in early July, the revolt resisted all efforts to stamp it out. The back of the rebellion was finally broken in November and only fizzed out in February 1810.

Kirchbichl is a municipality in the Kufstein District in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 10 km south of Kufstein and 3 km northeast above Wörgl. It has six parts and its main source of income is cement industry.

Mariastein is the smallest municipality in the Kufstein district in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 4 kilometers north of Wörgl and 11.5 kilometers southwest of Kufstein. Already a fifteenth century pilgrimage destination, it became more popular after a local statue of Mary, which had been removed to Bavaria in the late seventeenth century, was said to have returned to the church in Mariastein on its own. At the center of the community is a 42-metre-tall Wohnturm, a castle built in the fourteenth century atop a rock outcropping, and which contains 250 stairs. It now houses multiple chapels and a museum.

The Bezirk Kufstein is an administrative district (bezirk) in Tyrol, Austria. It borders Bavaria (Germany) in the north, the Kitzbühel district in the southeast, and the Schwaz district in the southwest. The district has a geographical area of 969.81 km², and a population of 101,321 (2012) giving a population density of 104 people per km². The administrative center is Kufstein. The district comprises the lower part of the Tyrolean Inn valley as far as the Bavarian border, the Alpbach valley, the Brandenberg valley, Wildschönau, and Thiersee. Mountain ranges within the district include the Brandenberg Alps, Kitzbühel Alps, and the Kaisergebirge. The largest lakes are the Reintal lakes, Thiersee, Hechtsee, Hintersteiner See and Walchsee.

Angerberg is a municipality in the Kufstein district of Austria. It is located 2.7 kilometres (1.7 mi) north of Wörgl and 14 kilometres (9 mi) southwest of Kufstein. The village was mentioned for the first time in documents in 1190.

Wildschönau is a municipality within the district of Kufstein in the state of Tyrol 6 km south of Wörgl. The 24 km long high valley near Wörgl is one of the district's tourist centers. Besides a few hamlets, the municipality consists of the four church villages Niederau, Oberau, Auffach and Thierbach and is situated in the Kitzbühel Alps. The municipal office is located in Oberau. Besides two tourist seasons, the intense highland agriculture plays an economic role. A lot of inhabitants commute to their place of work in other municipalities. The municipality Wildschönau is based on "gentle" tourism and emphasizes not being a ski circuit like the nearby Kitzbühel. Several older T-bar lifts in the skiing region of Schatzberg (Auffach) were replaced with two chair lifts. A lift connection with the Alpbach valley was built in Summer 2012. For a long time, there was mining in the Wildschönau.
