Chocorua is an unincorporated community within the town of Tamworth in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is located in the general area where Routes 16 and 113 meet, south of Mount Chocorua and Chocorua Lake. Mount Chocorua is commonly known in the area as the "Matterhorn" of the White Mountains due to its triangular summit. Chocorua Lake, along NH 16 at the southern base of the mountain, is a common stopping place for photos of the mountain landscape.

White Lake State Park is a 902.7-acre (365.3 ha) public recreation area in Tamworth, New Hampshire. The state park surrounds 125-acre (51 ha) White Lake, a typical glacial lake. It is open year-round and offers swimming, hiking, non-motorized boating, picnicking, trout fishing, winter sports, day-use area, group areas, and seasonal camping.The park's 72-acre (29 ha) stand of pitch pine trees was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1980. It is accessible by a walking trail that also passes a series of kettle bogs.

The Deer River is a 2.6-mile-long (4.2 km) stream in eastern New Hampshire in the United States. The village of Silver Lake within Madison lies at the north end of the lake. Water from Silver Lake flows via the West Branch, through the Ossipee Pine Barrens to Ossipee Lake and ultimately to the Saco River in Maine. Much of the lake's perimeter is forested, but there are numerous swimming spots. Popular beaches include "the foot" of the lake, "Nichols Beach", and "the head of the lake." It was the summer home of E. E. Cummings whose father had built two houses on the lake's eastern shore and later purchased the nearby Joy Farm where Cummings' spent most of his summers as well as his final days. The lake is classified as a cold- and warmwater fishery, with observed species including rainbow trout, lake trout, lake whitefish, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, and horned pout.

The Chocorua Lake Basin Historic District is a large historic district surrounding Chocorua Lake in the town of Tamworth in New Hampshire, United States. It includes more than 6,000 acres (2,400 ha), with the lake roughly at its center, extending from Washington Hill Road in the east to Fowles Mill Road and Philbrick Neighborhood Road in the west, and from the town line with Albany in the north to Heavenly Hill Road in the south. The district's significance derives from a large cluster of late 19th and early 20th century summer resort houses built around and near the lake, and the role the area's landowners have played in the conservation of the lake and viewsheds associated with it and nearby Mount Chocorua. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

West Ossipee is an unincorporated community in the town of Ossipee in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is located near the northern boundary of the town, along New Hampshire Route 16, leading north towards Conway and south towards Rochester. Route 41 departs from the village, heading northeast to Silver Lake and Madison. Route 25 leads west towards Tamworth and Moultonborough. The Bearcamp River runs along the southwest side of the village. The Whittier Bridge is a historic covered bridge that crosses the river just west of the village. The Whittier Bridge is a historic wooden covered bridge in Ossipee, New Hampshire. The bridge carried an old alignment of New Hampshire Route 25 (now Nudd Road and Old Covered Bridge Road) over the Bearcamp River. Built in 1870, it is one of New Hampshire's few surviving 19th-century covered bridges, and a rare example of a Paddleford truss. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It was closed to vehicular traffic in 1989, and was removed from its footings for restoration in 2008. As of September 2019, the bridge is resting on Nudd Road adjacent to the crossing point. It was placed back on its abutments in the late fall of 2022.

Joy Farm, also known as the E. E. Cummings House, is a historic farmstead on Joy Farm Road in the Silver Lake part of Madison, New Hampshire. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971 in recognition for its place as the longtime summer home of poet E. E. Cummings (1894–1962).Cummings's parents purchased the farm, which is located near Silver Lake, in 1899 from Ephraim Joy. His mother deeded him the farm in 1929, and he spent time there every summer until his death in 1962. He was at the farm in September 1962 when he had a stroke; he died at the hospital in North Conway the next day.The property includes a house and barn, as well as a small, two-story octagonal tower. The main house is a 1-1/2 story building consisting of four bays, of which the rightmost is set back. The house has a side-gable roof, which has been modified to accommodate a deck above the rear half. The front of the main block has five bays on the first level, with paired sash windows flanking a center entry. The entry has sidelight windows, and is sheltered by a porch deck that is accessible from the middle gable of three gable dormers that line the main block's upper level. This deck, like that above the rear of the house, is lined with a railing consisting of posts connected by top rails and lower rails forming an X. The barn stands just north of the house.
