Mill Brook (Swift River tributary)

The Swift River is an 8.3-mile-long (13.4 km) river located in eastern New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Bearcamp River, part of the Ossipee Lake / Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. The Swift River is located only four miles south of the larger and longer Swift River which parallels the Kancamagus Highway in the White Mountain National Forest. The Swift River begins at the confluence of Paugus Brook and the Wonalancet River in the northern part of Tamworth, New Hampshire, south of Mount Chocorua. The river flows southeast through a narrow valley, which opens up as it reaches Tamworth village. The Swift River slows before joining the Bearcamp River between the villages of Whittier and West Ossipee. Mill Brook joins near the Swift River's mouth.

White Lake State Park is a 902.7-acre (365.3 ha) public recreation area in Tamworth, New Hampshire. The state park surrounds 125-acre (51 ha) White Lake, a typical glacial lake. It is open year-round and offers swimming, hiking, non-motorized boating, picnicking, trout fishing, winter sports, day-use area, group areas, and seasonal camping.The park's 72-acre (29 ha) stand of pitch pine trees was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1980. It is accessible by a walking trail that also passes a series of kettle bogs.

Mount Whittier is a mountain in Carroll County, New Hampshire, in the northern Ossipee Mountains. Named after John Greenleaf Whittier, the peak is not to be confused with nearby Nickerson Mountain, which was once known as Mount Whittier. There are no hiking trails on Mount Whittier. There was once a CCC alpine ski trail on the northern face.

Tamworth is a town in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 2,812 at the 2020 census. Tamworth includes the villages of Chocorua, South Tamworth, Wonalancet, and Whittier. The White Mountain National Forest is to the north. The town is home to Hemenway State Forest in the north and White Lake State Park in the southeast.

The Cook Memorial Library is the public library of Tamworth, New Hampshire, United States. It is located at 93 Main Street in the center of the town, in an 1895 Queen Anne Victorian building which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The library's origins are in a private "social library" established in 1796 by Parson Samuel Hidden; the building was given in memory of Charles Cook, a prominent local businessman and politician.

The Captain Enoch Remick House is part of a historic homestead located in the town of Tamworth, New Hampshire, United States. In 1996, the house—along with a complex of five surrounding outbuildings and approximately 69 acres (28 ha) of field, pasture and woodland—was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its significance in art, architecture, and local agriculture. It now operates under the auspices of the Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm.

The Whittier Bridge is a historic wooden covered bridge in Ossipee, New Hampshire. The bridge carried an old alignment of New Hampshire Route 25 (now Nudd Road and Old Covered Bridge Road) over the Bearcamp River. Built in 1870, it is one of New Hampshire's few surviving 19th-century covered bridges, and a rare example of a Paddleford truss. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It was closed to vehicular traffic in 1989, and was removed from its footings for restoration in 2008. As of September 2019, the bridge is resting on Nudd Road adjacent to the crossing point. It was placed back on its abutments in the late fall of 2022.

West Ossipee is an unincorporated community in the town of Ossipee in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is located near the northern boundary of the town, along New Hampshire Route 16, leading north towards Conway and south towards Rochester. Route 41 departs from the village, heading northeast to Silver Lake and Madison. Route 25 leads west towards Tamworth and Moultonborough. The Bearcamp River runs along the southwest side of the village. The Whittier Bridge is a historic covered bridge that crosses the river just west of the village. West Ossipee has a separate ZIP code (03890) from the rest of Ossipee.

Nickerson Mountain is a mountain located in Carroll County, New Hampshire, in the northeastern Ossipee Mountains. The peak was also once known as Mount Whittier; however, the USGS has since labelled a mountain to the immediate west with the name. The Mount Whittier Ski Area and scenic gondola operated on Nickerson Mountain until 1985.

Chocorua is an unincorporated community within the town of Tamworth in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is located in the general area where Routes 16 and 113 meet, south of Mount Chocorua and Chocorua Lake. Mount Chocorua is commonly known in the area as the "Matterhorn" of the White Mountains due to its triangular summit. Chocorua Lake, along NH 16 at the southern base of the mountain, is a common stopping place for photos of the mountain landscape.
