Needham B. Broughton High School, commonly known as Broughton High School, is one of thirty-two high schools in the Wake County Public School System. It is located at 723 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. Broughton was named after businessman and politician, Needham B. Broughton, who contributed much to the public schools of the Raleigh area. Broughton is known for its castle-like stone facade design and tall bell tower. The architect was William Henley Deitrick.

St. John's Metropolitan Community Church is a Christian church ministering to the LGBT population in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The church is a member congregation of the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC), a worldwide fellowship of LGBT-affirming churches. St. John's is also affiliated with the North Carolina Council of Churches and the Raleigh Religious Network for Lesbian and Gay Equality (RRNLGE). The church is located at 4 N Blount street in downtown Raleigh. St. John's was founded by Willie White and his partner Robert Pace in February 1976. In June of that year, members of St. John's voted to affiliate with the MCC denomination. The following year St. John's members began holding church services at the Community United Church of Christ and continued to use that facility for 17 years. In 1981 White became the faculty advisor for the Gay and Lesbian Christian Alliance (GLCA) at North Carolina State University, now part of the LGBT Services organization.The second pastor of St. John's was June Norris, the first heterosexual woman to be ordained by the MCC. Norris served the church from 1981 to 1988, participating in NC Pride and testifying before Raleigh City Council in regards to nondiscrimination clauses. The third pastor, Wayne Lindsey, led St. John's purchase of the current church building on South Glenwood Avenue. During this time, the church became active with the RRNLGE and joined the North Carolina chapter of the Council of Churches. Lindsey, who pastored from 1988 to 2001, was an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights in North Carolina.In July 2001, the church's fourth pastor Brendan Y. Boone became the second African American pastor of St. John's. The church is involved with local LGBT events, such as NC Pride, Gospel Drag, and AIDS awareness.Vance Haywood (Pastor Vance) became the church's fifth pastor in January 2018. The Church has expanded their ministry focus and helps organize a white flag shelter for those who experience homelessness.

The Pine State Creamery is a former dairy products factory in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is a Moderne style building, built in 1928. It is a two-story, five bay by six bay, flat-roofed reinforced concrete building in cream-colored brick. It features a crenellated parapet at the roofline and a three-story corner tower. Additions were made to the original building in the 1940s and 1960s. The building has been converted to office and retail functions.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997 and is a Raleigh Historic Landmark.

Glenwood or the Glenwood–Brooklyn Historic District is a historic neighborhood and national historic district located at Raleigh, North Carolina. The district encompasses 286 contributing buildings in an early-20th century streetcar suburb for working- and middle-class whites. Glenwood and Brooklyn were developed between about 1905 to 1951 and includes notable examples of Colonial Revival, Queen Anne, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. The houses are predominantly 1 1/2- and 2-story frame dwellings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 as Glenwood, with a boundary increase / decrease in 2002 to include the Brooklyn neighborhood.Since the 1980s, some large homes have become apartments, and other homes have been torn down, with new ones going up.On April 5, 2016, Raleigh City Council voted for the city's first streetside historic overlay district. Area residents had asked for the rezoning since 2014, hoping to prevent too much new development. In many cases, improvements, demolition, and new buildings will now require a detailed review.

Wachovia Building Company Contemporary Ranch House, also known as the Arthur McKimmon II House, is a historic home located in the Cameron Village neighborhood of Raleigh, North Carolina. It is located east of the Cameron Village Historic District. The house was built in 1951, and is a single-story, double-pile, Ranch-style house. It has a low pitched hipped roof and a gable-roofed breezeway joining the house to a side-gabled, single-car garage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Devereaux (or Devereux) Meadow was a minor league baseball stadium located in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was located on the north side of Peace Street (south, right field) between Dawson Street (east, left field), which was later merged into Capital Boulevard; and West Street (west, first base). The site had long been a playground. In 1938 the city decided to build a ballpark on the site. It eventually became the home of the Raleigh Capitals from (1945–1953) and from (1957–62); the Raleigh Mets for the 1963 season; the Raleigh Cardinals from (1964–1965); the Raleigh Pirates from (1966–1967); the Raleigh-Durham Mets for the 1968 season; the Raleigh-Durham Phillies for the 1969 season; and the Raleigh-Durham Triangles from (1970–1971). The ballpark was demolished in 1979 to make way for a parking lot for waste disposal vehicles. The City of Raleigh has proposed the restoration of the area as a linear park under the Capital Boulevard Corridor Study Archived 2013-11-23 at the Wayback Machine, which was adopted by the Raleigh City Council in 2012. The plan does not involve the restoration of the original baseball field but would instead include a linear park and a restoration of the adjacent Pigeon House Branch Creek.

Raleigh Charter High School is a free, independent public school chartered by the North Carolina State Board of Education. It was founded in 1998 by parents of eighth graders at Magellan Charter School.From its inception through the 2010–2011 school year, Raleigh Charter occupied the historic Pilot Mill behind Peace College in downtown Raleigh. Over the summer of 2011, the school moved to the former Methodist Building on Glenwood Avenue. This location offers proximity to downtown Raleigh; the move, however, was motivated not by dissatisfaction with Pilot Mill, but by financial issues: the school rented its first space, but owns the current one. Raleigh Charter High School is ranked 2nd within North Carolina. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement course work and exams. The AP participation rate at Raleigh Charter High School is 95 percent. The student body makeup is 48 percent male and 52 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 37 percent. As of the 2015–2016 school year, the school's 4-year graduation rate was 95%.

Boylan Apartments is a historic apartment complex located in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. The three buildings were built in 1935, and are three-story, Colonial Revival style brick buildings arranged in a "U" shape plan around an open courtyard. Each building consists of 18 one and two-bedroom units. They were designed by the architectural firm Linthicum & Linthicum and built with funds supplied by the Public Works Administration (PWA).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Saint Mary's School is a private independent Episcopal college-preparatory, boarding and day school for girls in grades 9–12. Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, Saint Mary's School operates as an independent school with a historic association with the Episcopal Church including an Episcopal chapel, St. Mary's Chapel, on the school's grounds. The school formerly operated as Saint Mary's College and for many decades educated young women in grades 11–12 and their freshman and sophomore years in college. The school changed to a four year high school in 1998, at which point the name reverted to Saint Mary's School, the original name of the institution when it was founded in 1842.
