Cameron Village Historic District in Raleigh, North Carolina is a national historic district listed in 2011 on the National Register of Historic Places. The district encompasses 93 contributing buildings and 1 contributing object and was developed between about 1950 and 1955. It is considered North Carolina's first planned mixed-use development.Nearby Village District Shopping Center is not included in the Historic District.

Village District (formerly Cameron Village), was the first planned community to be developed in Raleigh, North Carolina. Development was started in 1947 when J.W. York and R.A Bryan bought 158 acres (64 ha) of undeveloped land two miles west of downtown Raleigh, near the North Carolina State University campus. The "village" was to consist of a shopping center, apartments, and single family homes. The area was renamed to Village District in 2021 to distance itself from the slave owning Cameron family, who owned Stagville Plantation, that it was originally named after.

Occidental Life Insurance Company Building is a historic office building located at Raleigh, North Carolina. The building is located in Cameron Village, North Carolina's first suburban shopping center. It was built in 1956, and is a four-story, 68,000 square-foot steel frame structure encapsulated in concrete. The building was design by architecture firm Kemp, Bunch & Jackson and in the International Style. It has a brick base, limestone walls, aluminum windows with green-tinted glass, and entrance canopies with rounded aluminum eaves. Prior to moving to this building, the Occidental Life Insurance Company offices were housed in the Professional Building for nearly 30 years.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Needham B. Broughton High School, commonly known as Broughton High School, is one of thirty-two high schools in the Wake County Public School System. It is located at 723 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. Broughton was named after businessman and politician, Needham B. Broughton, who contributed much to the public schools of the Raleigh area. Broughton is known for its castle-like stone facade design and tall bell tower. The architect was William Henley Deitrick.

Mae and Philip Rothstein House is a historic home located at Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built in 1959, and is a one-story, International Style dwelling measuring 80 feet by 27 feet. It has a low-pitched, gable-front roof, with a deep overhang. It features three-tiered floor-to-ceiling windows.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

John T and Mary Turner House is a historic home located at Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built about 1889, and is a two-story, side gable I-house with one-story sections at its rear. It incorporates Queen Anne and Colonial Revival-style design elements. It was constructed by John T. Turner, an African-American entrepreneur.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

The Willis M. Graves House, also known as the Graves-Fields House and Oakcrest, is a historic home located on Oberlin Road in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built about 1884 in the freedmen's village of Oberlin, and is a two-story, frame Queen Anne style dwelling. It has a projecting, two-story polygonal bay capped by a very large gable; one-story wraparound porch; and a projecting, two-story square tower with a pyramidal roof. It was built by Willis M. Graves, an African-American brick mason.It was originally listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002 (#02000500). It was delisted in 2019 due to being relocated, but was relisted again in 2021.

Rev. Plummer T. Hall House, also known as the Hall-Jackson House, is a historic home located near Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built between 1880 and 1893, and is a one-story, Queen Anne-style frame cottage. An office or study addition was built about 1900. It was the home of a locally prominent African-American family.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Raleigh Charter High School is a free, independent public school chartered by the North Carolina State Board of Education. It was founded in 1998 by parents of eighth graders at Magellan Charter School.From its inception through the 2010–2011 school year, Raleigh Charter occupied the historic Pilot Mill behind Peace College in downtown Raleigh. Over the summer of 2011, the school moved to the former Methodist Building on Glenwood Avenue. This location offers proximity to downtown Raleigh; the move, however, was motivated not by dissatisfaction with Pilot Mill, but by financial issues: the school rented its first space, but owns the current one. Raleigh Charter High School is ranked 2nd within North Carolina. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement course work and exams. The AP participation rate at Raleigh Charter High School is 95 percent. The student body makeup is 48 percent male and 52 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 37 percent. As of the 2015–2016 school year, the school's 4-year graduation rate was 95%.

The Josephus Daniels House, also known as Wakestone, and later the Masonic Temple of Raleigh, was a historic mansion at 1520 Caswell Street in Raleigh, North Carolina. Built in 1920, it was the home until his death in 1948 of Josephus Daniels, Secretary of the Navy under President Woodrow Wilson, and a major force in the development of the modern 20th-century United States Navy. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976. After Daniels' death it was purchased by the local Freemasons, who made additions to the building and continued to use it as their meeting hall into the 21st century. The building was demolished in August 2021 to make way for a new development of high end homes.

St. John's Metropolitan Community Church is a Christian church ministering to the LGBT population in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The church is a member congregation of the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC), a worldwide fellowship of LGBT-affirming churches. St. John's is also affiliated with the North Carolina Council of Churches and the Raleigh Religious Network for Lesbian and Gay Equality (RRNLGE). The church is located at 4 N Blount street in downtown Raleigh. St. John's was founded by Willie White and his partner Robert Pace in February 1976. In June of that year, members of St. John's voted to affiliate with the MCC denomination. The following year St. John's members began holding church services at the Community United Church of Christ and continued to use that facility for 17 years. In 1981 White became the faculty advisor for the Gay and Lesbian Christian Alliance (GLCA) at North Carolina State University, now part of the LGBT Services organization.The second pastor of St. John's was June Norris, the first heterosexual woman to be ordained by the MCC. Norris served the church from 1981 to 1988, participating in NC Pride and testifying before Raleigh City Council in regards to nondiscrimination clauses. The third pastor, Wayne Lindsey, led St. John's purchase of the current church building on South Glenwood Avenue. During this time, the church became active with the RRNLGE and joined the North Carolina chapter of the Council of Churches. Lindsey, who pastored from 1988 to 2001, was an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights in North Carolina.In July 2001, the church's fourth pastor Brendan Y. Boone became the second African American pastor of St. John's. The church is involved with local LGBT events, such as NC Pride, Gospel Drag, and AIDS awareness.Vance Haywood (Pastor Vance) became the church's fifth pastor in January 2018. The Church has expanded their ministry focus and helps organize a white flag shelter for those who experience homelessness.
