Desert Vista High School

Ocotillo (also known as Ocatillo) was a temporary camp in Ahwatukee, Phoenix designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright and constructed in late-January/early-February 1929 by his draftsmen. The camp buildings, made out of wood and canvas, were intended by the architect to provide living and working spaces for himself and his draftsmen while they worked on a project (San Marcos In The Desert) for promoter, hotelier and entrepreneur, Dr. Alexander John Chandler. Chandler allowed Wright to use part of his land on which to construct the camp. Wright and the draftsmen stayed at the camp until late spring, and returned to Wright's home, Taliesin, on May 31. Wright, presuming work would continue into the next year, intended to return to the camp. However, a fire in the camp that summer (followed by the stock market crash in October) prevented the cabins ever being used again. The site has not held buildings since the summer of 1929. Horizon Honors Schools (also known as Horizon Honors or Horizon Community Learning Center) is an organization of tuition-free charter schools in the Ahwatukee Foothills area of Phoenix, Arizona. Horizon Honors consists of two schools: Horizon Honors Elementary School (Grades K-6) and Horizon Honors Secondary School (Grades 7–12). Over 1,500 students from cities throughout the East Valley attend the schools. Horizon Honors Elementary School has an enrollment of 728 students. The school principal is Laura Wanstreet. The school is ranked an “A” School by the Arizona Department of Education (2018), designated a “No Place for Hate” School by the Anti-Defamation League, and is designated a “Mix It Up” Model School by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Horizon Honors Secondary School has an enrollment of 280 students in Horizon Honors Middle School (grades 7–8) and 425 in Horizon Honors High School (grades 9–12). The school principal is Paul Schneider. The school is ranked an “A” School by the Arizona Department of Education (2018,) has a 99% graduation rate, and 97% of graduates pursue college degrees. The House of the Future also known as the Ahwatukee House of the Future is an example of a home of the future located in Ahwatukee, an urban village in Phoenix, Arizona. The idea was originated by Randall Presley, the developer of Ahwatukee to promote his then-new development and bring more residences to the then-less populated Ahwatukee neighborhood. The House was designed by Charles R. Schiffner Taliesin Associated Architects of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in Scottsdale, who got inspiration from his drawings of one of his box projects originally intended for Mr. and Mrs. Wright. It was opened for tours in 1980; tours cost $3. Between 1980 and 1984 the House attracted approximately 250,000 people, who were also given tours of various model homes in the development. After four years the House was sold, and is now in private ownership, having changed hands several times.The House was "the first microprocessor controlled house". Designed in coordination with Motorola it had multiple Motorola MC6800 microprocessors that "opened and closed windows, adjusted blinds, and stored tax records, shopping lists, and video games." The system consisted of ten microprocessors, and cost $30,000 in 1980 dollars.The three-bedroom house had an unconventional design. "Most of it is below ground. It includes a two-storey 'atrium', or sky-lobby, from which all the rooms lead off. This contains plants and provides a central conversation area." "Dozens of companies helped build the property at an estimated cost of more than $2 million, a portion of it in donated materials."When it opened the house became a media sensation. “It was covered in periodicals, the media of the time, in 33 different countries. It became a world-famous house, in essence.”

The Maricopa County Fair is annually held in Phoenix, Arizona at the Arizona State Fairgrounds. It began in the 1950s as a county fair and citrus festival.Every year the fair holds a different theme. Exhibits hundreds of livestock exhibits from local 4-H and FFA clubs and chapters, arts, science fair, cook-offs, rides, tractor shows, live entertainment from musical artists, group tours, vendors, monster trucks, demolition derby, motocross, and food fill the fairgrounds. Saturday night hosts the Junior Livestock Auction when exhibitors have a chance to sell their projects they've worked on all year. The largest group of participants of the Maricopa County Fair is Arizona's youth. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the fair to be cancelled in 2020-21. It resumed in 2022 following the hiatus.

The 2024 IFBB Professional League Blood, Sweat & Bodywork Rising Phoenix World Championships was an International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness Professional League (IFBB Pro League) professional female bodybuilding contest that was held in conjunction with the IFBB Pro League Arizona Women's Pro and the National Physique Committee (NPC) Arizona Women’s Extravaganza. It was the tenth Rising Phoenix World Championships to be held.

The IFBB Wings of Strength Rising Phoenix World Championships is a professional female bodybuilding competition, sponsored by Wings of Strength company founded by Jake and Kristal Wood., promoted by Tim Gardner Productions, and sanctioned by the International Federation of BodyBuilders (I.F.B.B.). It was the most prestigious IFBB professional female bodybuilding event around from 2015 to 2019, while the Ms. Olympia contest was on hiatus. The first championship show took place in conjunction with the IFBB Texas Pro, the NPC Tim Gardner Texas Extravaganza, and the NPC National on August 22, 2015 at the Grand Hyatt, San Antonio, Texas.

Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex at Wild Horse Pass is a soccer complex including the Wild Horse Pass Stadium, a soccer-specific stadium near Chandler, Arizona. It is the former home of Phoenix Rising FC of the USL Championship. The stadium was completed before the start of the 2021 USL Championship season. The stadium was built on land in the Gila River Indian Community, near Interstate 10 and Loop 202. The complex has 10,000 seats with a video board, press box, improved sound, a family-friendly general admission section, ticket office, locker rooms, two practice fields, and a on-site administrative office.
