New World Tower

50 Biscayne is a fifty-seven story skyscraper condo in the Central Business District of Downtown Miami, Florida, United States. As its name implies, the tower is located at the address of 50 Biscayne Boulevard in between Flagler and Northeast 1st Streets. The size and stature of 50 Biscayne conceives a significant part of the Biscayne Wall, which is a series of buildings and parks stretching along the Biscayne Bay. The tower is 554 feet (169 m) tall and contains upscale commercial space at street level, such as Safi and D'Oro Caffe. The tower's main lobby consists of three stories, followed by the Park Suites, which are condos customly furnished by the Rockwell Group, on floors 4 through 9. The two-story tenth and twelfth floors contain hotel-esque amenities available to the tower's residents. Ascending floors contain all condos. The tower's architecture is based on the Miami Modern (abbreviated as MiMo) style, and has many design features that pay tribute to landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx's emphasis on natural aesthetics seen along the bay. The site where 50 Biscayne stands today was formerly home to the Columbus Bazaar, a shopping mall which replaced The Hotel McAllister and the Columbus Hotel in a quick fix effort to reutilize the land when both establishments closed for business. The McAllister Hotel was considered one of the city's earliest high-rises when constructed in 1917, while the taller Columbus Hotel sported a top story restaurant (called Top O' The Columbus) and retail arcade.

The McAllister Hotel was a ten-story high-rise hotel in Downtown Miami, Florida. It opened on December 31, 1919, and until 1925, was the tallest building in Miami. It was demolished in 1988, and the site is now the home to 50 Biscayne built in 2007 at 554 feet (169 m). The McAllister Hotel is considered one of Miami's first skyscrapers and was a city icon until its demolition. It was designed by Walter De Garmo. The architect was Frank Valentine Newell. . For many years, the McAllister was the home of radio station WQAM, one of Miami's classic top 40 stations.

Vizcayne (formerly known as "Everglades on the Bay") is an urban development in the City of Miami, Florida. It is located in northeastern Downtown Miami and consists of two residential skyscrapers, North Tower and the South Tower as well as a retail center. The buildings were topped out (reached full height) in 2007, and were completed in early 2008. They are located on Biscayne Boulevard between Northeast 2nd and 3rd Streets. The complex consists of two twin towers and the Everglades Plaza. Both towers are 538 ft (164 m) tall, and each has 49 floors. The Everglades Plaza is a retail and community center at the base of both towers, connecting both and occupying the entire city block. The main entrance to the plaza is on Biscayne Boulevard. The towers provide retail on the street level and the rest of the floors are used for residential units. Specifically, floors 2-7 are flats and lofts, and floors 8-49 are condo units. The architect of these buildings is Fullerton-Diaz Architects, Inc. The developer is Cabi Developers, a division of GICSA. The complex is located at the site of the former Everglades Hotel, which was closed in 2003 and imploded on January 23, 2005 to make room for the new towers.

First Street is a Metromover station in Downtown, Miami, Florida. The station is located at Northeast First Street and Second Avenue, underneath The Loft 2 residential tower. It was opened on April 17, 1986.

The Loft 2 is a residential skyscraper in the Central Business District of Downtown Miami, Florida, United States. It is part of the complex "Loft Miami", which includes the shorter "The Loft" and "The Loft 3", which was cancelled. The building was completed in 2007. It is 433 ft (144 m) tall and contains 36 floors. The complex is located at NE 2nd Street and NE 2nd Avenue, two blocks west of Biscayne Boulevard. The First Street Metromover Station passes through the Loft 2 building. This made construction especially difficult, as metro train service could not be delayed during construction. Retail occupies the bottom floor, while floors 2-36 are residential lofts and condominiums. The Loft 2 has 496 units which sold out in two and a half days.The Loft 2 is one of the few buildings in Miami that has its pool on the roof. The gymnasium for the residents is also on the roof, located in a glass enclosure overlooking the northern part of downtown and Biscayne Bay.

One Biscayne Tower is an office skyscraper in Miami, Florida, United States. It is located on the eastern edge of Downtown Miami, on South Biscayne Boulevard. It comprises Class A office space completely. The office tower was acquired by CP Group in 2021 in a joint venture with Rialto Capital Management. The approximately 983,000 square feet building contains 39 floors and is 492 ft (150 m) tall, to the roof. When built in 1972, it ended the Dade County Courthouse's 44-year reign as the tallest building in Miami. It held this status until the Southeast Financial Center was topped off in 1984. The building, although relatively short compared to many of the newer skyscrapers in Miami, remains a symbol of the city. It appears often on most postcards of the skyline and remains a signature building of Miami, due to its being a symbol of prosperity for the Cuban exile community. For just this reason, it appears in a July 1973 article of National Geographic titled, "Cuba's Exiles Bring New Life to Miami." The building itself was designed by the exiled Cuban architects Humberto P. Alonso, Pelayo G. Fraga & Associates and E.H. Gutierrez & Associates. For their design, the architects received a 1973 Outstanding Concrete Structure in Florida award. One Biscayne Tower has won five Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards, including the 2007 Miami-Dade TOBY Award and the 2007 BOMA Southern Regional TOBY.

One Downtown is a building in Downtown Miami, Florida, United States, formerly known as SunTrust International Center, and rebranded as One Downtown in 2023 by its ownership and property management team, PCCP and CP Group. It is located in the heart of the Central Business District, on Southeast 1st Street near 3rd Avenue. It is one block west of Biscayne Boulevard. The tower rises from a six-story parking pedestal, and comprises 31 floors. It is 125 m (375 ft) in height, which gives it a very low position on the list of tallest buildings in Miami. However, as the building opened in 1973, it appears in most photos of the Miami skyline, and is one of the more famous buildings in the city. However, it's sits behind the larger One Biscayne Tower also completed in the early 70s, and since the completion of 50 Biscayne, the tower is further obstructed if seen from Biscayne Bay. The building is the Miami headquarters of SunTrust Bank and is almost entirely composed of Class A office space. It was built by The Auchter Company.Crocker Partners acquired the building for $82.4 million in 2011. In May 2018, PCCP bought it for $127 million using a $101.8 million mortgage from Invesco.The nearest Metromover stations are Inner Loop and Bayfront Park.

The Empire World Towers were two proposed supertall skyscrapers to be built in Miami, Florida in the United States. The complex consists of the Empire World Tower I and the Empire World Tower II. If completed, both towers would stand at 1,022 feet (312 m), with 93 stories each. They would surpass the Panorama Tower and become the city and state's tallest buildings, since the approved One Bayfront Plaza had been reduced to a height of 1,010 ft. The towers were not built, but in 2023 the supertall Waldorf Astoria Miami began construction on the same block at 300 Biscayne Boulevard.

The Torch of Friendship is a monument located on Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami, Florida, United States, at the northwest corner of Bayfront Park.Built in 1960, the Torch of Friendship was built to signify the passageway for immigrants coming from Latin America and the Caribbean. The gas fed flame was meant to act as a welcoming beacon for all new and old immigrants to the nation. In 1964 it was re-dedicated to the memory of President John F. Kennedy.

The Congress Building, or simply the Congress Building, is a historic skyscraper in Downtown Miami, Florida, United States. It is located at the address of 111 Northeast 2nd Avenue. The Congress Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 14, 1985, and is locally identified a historic site in the Downtown Miami Development of Regional Impact (DRI). The Congress Building was formerly office space until 1999, when it was restored and converted to apartments. At street level, the building contains retail space which is leased to a number of stores and services including a financial establishment, The Loft condo sales center, beauty salon and café. Originally the building was five stories; the additional 16 were added on later.

One Bayfront Plaza is a proposed supertall skyscraper in Miami, Florida, U.S. The building, construction of which has been approved, would stand at 1,049 feet (320 m), with 93 floors, becoming the tallest building in Miami and Florida. One Bayfront Plaza would primarily consist of offices and hotel space, but also would include a retail mall, condominiums, and parking garage on the lower levels, as well as possibly an observation deck at the top. The entire project consists of over 1,400,000 square feet (100,000 m2) of Class A office and hotel space, as well as a total building area of over 4,000,000 square feet (371,612 m2) including the large podium. One Bayfront Plaza is the first skyscraper over 1,000 feet (305 m) to be approved for construction in Miami. The building's primary advocate is real estate developer Tibor Hollo, who has won several awards for his 55 years as a developer in Miami, and is currently the president of Florida East Coast Realty.One Bayfront Plaza has gone through several design revisions since its original proposal as a single, 80-floor, 1,180 feet (360 m) tower, which exceeded height restrictions. It was first approved as a complex of two connected towers as shown in the rendering below and was to be known as the 100 South Biscayne complex with the taller tower being 1,049 feet (320 m) high. The development was planned to include an adjacent, connected 850-room hotel tower referred to as 100 South Biscayne II. Both buildings in the complex had a scheduled groundbreaking in 2011, and were estimated to be completed by 2015. Most recent news suggests the development is back to a single 1,010-foot tower design with a large podium, which was given a possible 2014 groundbreaking; however, by 2014 it was stated that the project was being put off at least until the completion of FECR's under construction Panorama Tower in 2017.

Bayfront Park is a 32-acre (13 ha) public, urban park in Downtown Miami, Florida on Biscayne Bay. The Chairman to the trust is Ary Shaeban. Located in the park is a bronze statue of Christopher Columbus sculpted by Count Vittorio di Colbertaldo of Verona, one of Benito Mussolini’s hand picked ceremonial bodyguards known as the “Black Musketeers.”
