Vizcayne

The Empire World Towers were two proposed supertall skyscrapers to be built in Miami, Florida in the United States. The complex consists of the Empire World Tower I and the Empire World Tower II. If completed, both towers would stand at 1,022 feet (312 m), with 93 stories each. They would surpass the Panorama Tower and become the city and state's tallest buildings, since the approved One Bayfront Plaza had been reduced to a height of 1,010 ft. The towers were not built, but in 2023 the supertall Waldorf Astoria Miami began construction on the same block at 300 Biscayne Boulevard.

The Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Residences is a supertall skyscraper currently under construction in Miami, Florida. It will be the tallest building in the entire Southern United States. It is being constructed on the former site of the once-proposed Empire World Towers, which were proposed and ultimately cancelled in the 2000s. It will be the tallest building in the southeastern United States, surpassing the 1,020-foot (311 m) Bank of America Plaza in Atlanta, and the 1,030-foot (314 m) Waterline tower under construction in Austin, Texas. The building is planned to rise to the maximum allowable height in downtown Miami of 1,049 ft (320 meters) above sea level, or about 1,040 ft (317 meters) above ground, making it easily the tallest building in Miami and Florida, surpassing the Panorama Tower built in 2017. Construction began in late 2022 and is expected to top out in 2026 and be completed by January 2028. It is located on Biscayne Boulevard between NE 3rd and 4th Streets in the Central business district of Greater Downtown Miami, across from Bayfront Park. The design is inspired by stacked and cantilevered boxes; it will have nine such cubes with 10 to 11 floors each, comprising nearly 100 stories of condominium and hotel space, topped by a five floor penthouse with over 30,000 square feet (2,800 m2) It is named after the Waldorf Astoria New York in New York City; worldwide Waldorf Astoria hotels are managed under the Hilton Hotels group. All one bedroom apartments in the skyscraper have been sold before construction was even completed. Prices now start at $3.3 million for a two bedroom apartment. The five story, 33,000+ square foot penthouse atop of the structure was also sold for an undisclosed amount. It is the largest residential unit south of New York City.

College Bayside is a Metromover station in Downtown, Miami, Florida, adjacent to the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College and one block west of the Bayside Marketplace. This station is located at Northeast Third Street and Second Avenue. It opened to service April 17, 1986 and is the last station to transfer directly to the Omni Loop.

100 Biscayne, formerly known as New World Tower and 100 Biscayne Tower, is a thirty-story skyscraper in the Central Business District of Greater Downtown Miami, Florida, United States. 100 Biscayne also owns an adjacent 12-story mechanical parking garage that provides parking for its office tenants and its guests but also offers valet parking services for several nearby hotels and restaurants. The tower is 357 feet (109 m) tall and contains commercial space at street level. Floors two to four of the building house a data center, miami-connect, and the remaining 25 floors contain office space. Formerly, the upper nine floors contained luxury apartments. When completed in 1965, the building was acclaimed by its architect as "a very modern but conservative design which will wear exceptionally well throughout the years." It was developed by Jose Ferré, the father of former city mayor, Maurice Ferre. It is owned and managed by affiliates of East End Capital Partners, LLC.

The Loft 2 is a residential skyscraper in the Central Business District of Downtown Miami, Florida, United States. It is part of the complex "Loft Miami", which includes the shorter "The Loft" and "The Loft 3", which was cancelled. The building was completed in 2007. It is 433 ft (144 m) tall and contains 36 floors. The complex is located at NE 2nd Street and NE 2nd Avenue, two blocks west of Biscayne Boulevard. The First Street Metromover Station passes through the Loft 2 building. This made construction especially difficult, as metro train service could not be delayed during construction. Retail occupies the bottom floor, while floors 2-36 are residential lofts and condominiums. The Loft 2 has 496 units which sold out in two and a half days.The Loft 2 is one of the few buildings in Miami that has its pool on the roof. The gymnasium for the residents is also on the roof, located in a glass enclosure overlooking the northern part of downtown and Biscayne Bay.

First Street is a Metromover station in Downtown, Miami, Florida. The station is located at Northeast First Street and Second Avenue, underneath The Loft 2 residential tower. It was opened on April 17, 1986.

The Torch of Friendship is a monument located on Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami, Florida, United States, at the northwest corner of Bayfront Park.Built in 1960, the Torch of Friendship was built to signify the passageway for immigrants coming from Latin America and the Caribbean. The gas fed flame was meant to act as a welcoming beacon for all new and old immigrants to the nation. In 1964 it was re-dedicated to the memory of President John F. Kennedy.

Switchboard of Miami, Inc., commonly referred to as Switchboard, was a private, nonprofit and registered 501(c)(3) organization located in Miami, Florida, United States that provided Miami-Dade County with comprehensive telephone counseling and referral services to thousands of social service programs beginning in 1968. The organization also offered counseling services and prevention programs, such as initiatives aimed at assisting high-risk youth and their families through partnerships with local schools. Since 1968, these services have been offered to the community at no charge. Callers can seek advice confidentially, as no information is needed by the company in order to receive the services. Switchboard shut down in 2016 following a "major financial emergency".

The Congress Building, or simply the Congress Building, is a historic skyscraper in Downtown Miami, Florida, United States. It is located at the address of 111 Northeast 2nd Avenue. The Congress Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 14, 1985, and is locally identified a historic site in the Downtown Miami Development of Regional Impact (DRI). The Congress Building was formerly office space until 1999, when it was restored and converted to apartments. At street level, the building contains retail space which is leased to a number of stores and services including a financial establishment, The Loft condo sales center, beauty salon and café. Originally the building was five stories; the additional 16 were added on later.

50 Biscayne is a fifty-seven story skyscraper condo in the Central Business District of Downtown Miami, Florida, United States. As its name implies, the tower is located at the address of 50 Biscayne Boulevard in between Flagler and Northeast 1st Streets. The size and stature of 50 Biscayne conceives a significant part of the Biscayne Wall, which is a series of buildings and parks stretching along the Biscayne Bay. The tower is 554 feet (169 m) tall and contains upscale commercial space at street level, such as Safi and D'Oro Caffe. The tower's main lobby consists of three stories, followed by the Park Suites, which are condos customly furnished by the Rockwell Group, on floors 4 through 9. The two-story tenth and twelfth floors contain hotel-esque amenities available to the tower's residents. Ascending floors contain all condos. The tower's architecture is based on the Miami Modern (abbreviated as MiMo) style, and has many design features that pay tribute to landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx's emphasis on natural aesthetics seen along the bay. The site where 50 Biscayne stands today was formerly home to the Columbus Bazaar, a shopping mall which replaced The Hotel McAllister and the Columbus Hotel in a quick fix effort to reutilize the land when both establishments closed for business. The McAllister Hotel was considered one of the city's earliest high-rises when constructed in 1917, while the taller Columbus Hotel sported a top story restaurant (called Top O' The Columbus) and retail arcade.

The McAllister Hotel was a ten-story high-rise hotel in Downtown Miami, Florida. It opened on December 31, 1919, and until 1925, was the tallest building in Miami. It was demolished in 1988, and the site is now the home to 50 Biscayne built in 2007 at 554 feet (169 m). The McAllister Hotel is considered one of Miami's first skyscrapers and was a city icon until its demolition. It was designed by Walter De Garmo. The architect was Frank Valentine Newell. . For many years, the McAllister was the home of radio station WQAM, one of Miami's classic top 40 stations.

Miami Dade College (Miami Dade, MDC or Dade) is a public college in Miami, Florida. Founded in 1959, it has a total of eight campuses and twenty-one outreach centers throughout Miami-Dade County. It is the largest college in the Florida College System with more than 100,000 students. The college enrolls a significantly larger number of Hispanic students compared to other colleges and universities in the state of Florida. The college serves a higher number of minority students than any other college in the nation.
