The Oconee County Cage is a former jail on wheels that is located at Browns Square Drive outside of the Oconee Heritage Center in Walhalla, South Carolina, USA in Oconee County. At the time of its listing, it was located on Church Street at the Oconee County Law Enforcement Center. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places on November 14, 1982 along with the Oconee County Jail. At the time of its listing, the cage was considered the most intact cage in South Carolina. Oconee County has preserved the cage as a reminder of the former harsh conditions faced by convicts in the early twentieth century.

The old Oconee County Jail was a former jail located on Short Street in Walhalla, South Carolina, in Oconee County. The jail was located on the grounds of the current Oconee County Courthouse. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places on November 14, 1982, along with the Oconee County Cage. At the time of its listing, the jail was one of the few remaining nineteenth or twentieth century jails in upper northwestern South Carolina. It was demolished around 1985. Subsequently, it was delisted on December 12, 1989.

The Keil Farm is a property listed on the National Register of Historic Places, located near South Carolina Highway 11 in the vicinity of Walhalla, South Carolina, in Oconee County. The property includes a c. 1850 farm house and six contributing outbuildings. The farm, built by John Henry Keil, Sr. (born Johann Heinreich Keil in Stotel, Germany) is seen as an important symbol of the role German immigrant families played in the development of the area.

The Oconee County Courthouse is a historic government building at 211 West Main Street in Walhalla, South Carolina. Built in 1956, it served as a county courthouse until 2003, when the present courthouse was opened next door. It was designed by the regional firm Lyles, Bissett, Carlisle & Wolff, known for its high quality Mid-Century Modern designs. This building is a fine local example of Starved Classicism, a style not found in other courthouses in South Carolina's hill counties.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016, at which time it stood vacant.

The Walhalla Graded School, built in 1901, is an historic building located at 101 E. North Broad Street in Walhalla, South Carolina. It was designed by noted Columbia architect William Augustus Edwards of the firm of Edwards and Walter and built by Grandy & Jordan of Greenville.On February 13, 1992, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. At the time of registration the building housed district offices for the School District of Oconee County. It is currently used as the Walhalla Civic Auditorium

Walhalla is a city in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Oconee County, South Carolina. Designated in 1868 as the county seat, it lies within the area of the Blue Ridge Escarpment, an area of transition between mountains and piedmont, and contains numerous waterfalls. It is located 16 miles (26 km) from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. This European-American city was founded after Indian Removal of the Cherokee in 1838. Early residents were predominantly German immigrants who had been refugees from the German revolutions of 1848-1849. Some English and Scots-Irish farmers also settled here. During the Reconstruction era, when Oconee County was organized in 1868, the state legislature designated Walhalla as its county seat.While the population was 4,263 at the 2010 census, "Walhalla" is used both colloquially and practically to refer to a larger area than is within city limits, often being expanded to the whole 29691 zip code. This larger area has a higher, more spread-out population. The current mayor of Walhalla is Danny Edwards.

Issaqueena Falls, near Walhalla, South Carolina, is a 100 ft (30 m) high cascade waterfall in the Oconee District of the Sumter National Forest.The falls are named for a legendary Cherokee girl who is said to have leaped from the top of the falls with her lover, either an Oconee brave, a white trader named Allan Francis, or a white silversmith named David Francis. In the story, Issaqueena and her lover either die together or they land on a ledge out of sight of hostile tribesmen and eventually live happily ever after.The waterfall is close to another notable local landmark, Stumphouse Tunnel, and a park provides access to both.

Stumphouse Mountain Tunnel in Oconee County, South Carolina is an incomplete railroad tunnel for the Blue Ridge Railroad of South Carolina in Sumter National Forest. The tunnel, along with nearby Issaqueena Falls, are now a Walhalla city park. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
