Altes Amt Lemförde

Lemförde is a municipality in the district of Diepholz, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated near lake Dümmer, approx. 15 km south of Diepholz. Lemförde is also the seat of the Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") Altes Amt Lemförde.

The Dümmer () or officially Dümmer See is a large lake in southern Lower Saxony (Germany). It has a surface of 13.5 km2 and an average depth of one metre. Its elevation is 37 metres. Dümmer is a popular resort for water sports, but also an important biotope for water birds and located in a zone especially frequented by migratory birds. A large section of its shore is protected by nature reserve areas.

The Stemweder Berg (also known as the Stemmer Berge) is a ridge 181.4 metres (595 ft) above sea level on the border of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony in Germany. It is the northernmost and smallest of Germany's Central Uplands ranges. Like the adjacent municipality of Stemwede, the ridge gets its name from the medieval Free County (Freigrafschaft) of Stemwede.

The Dümmer Nature Park (German: Naturpark Dümmer) in North Germany is located in the Lower Saxon districts of Diepholz and Vechta and the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Minden-Lübbecke. It is about 34 kilometres (21 mi) northeast of Osnabrück and lies between Diepholz and Bohmte, Bersenbrück and Rahden. The nature park covers an area of almost 500 square kilometres (190 sq mi) and is bisected from north to south by the Weser-Ems watershed. Within the boundary of its protected landscape are the Damme Hills, the Dümmer lake (the focus of the nature park), the Stemweder Hills and numerous bogs such as the Großes Moor and the Oppenweher Moor). The Dümmer Nature Park and the Dümmer Lake in particular is a breeding and resting site for many migrating birds. Numerous water ditches as well as the Hunte cross the park area. The extensive raised bogs have a unique flora and fauna. Discoveries from the New Stone Age indicate that people were attracted here in prehistoric times by the fertile soils and even settled here.

Hunteburg is a village in the municipality of Bohmte and the district of Osnabrück, in Lower Saxony, Germany. In Hunteburg are living about 4,000 people. Hunteburg consists of the districts Schwege, Welplage and Meyerhöfen, these three districts were up to the local government reform in 1972, the Municipality Hunteburg.
