Brithdir, Caerphilly

Brithdir railway station is a railway station serving the village of Brithdir near New Tredegar, South Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney Line 18+3⁄4 miles (30.2 km) north of Cardiff Central which is part of the Transport for Wales network. Work to extend the platform for six-car trains is in progress.

Cwmsyfiog Halt railway station served the suburb of Cwmsyfiog, Monmouthshire, Wales, from 1937 to 1962 on the Brecon and Merthyr Tydfil Junction Railway.

The Rhymney Valley (Welsh: Cwm Rhymni) is one of the South Wales valleys, with the Rhymney River forming the border between the historic counties of Glamorgan and Monmouthshire. Between 1974 and 1996 a Rhymney Valley local government district also existed (one of six of Mid Glamorgan). Aberbargoed is a town in the County Borough of Caerphilly, Wales. Aberbargoed once contained the largest ever colliery waste tip in Europe, although this has now been reclaimed and turned into a country park. The town is within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire.

Aber Bargoed railway station was a small railway station in the valleys north of Cardiff. Opened as Aber Bargoed by the Brecon & Merthyr Junction Railway, the station went through several changes of name before closure. Despite the similarity in the name it is not the Bargoed station now open on the line to Rhymney.

New Tredegar (Welsh: Tredegar Newydd) is a former mining town and community in the Rhymney Valley, Caerphilly county borough, Wales, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire. New Tredegar is now home to 'The Winding House', a county museum which opened in 2008. It is controlled by CCBC Museums service and the Friends of the Winding House community group. The area is rich in the mining heritage of the South Wales mining industry. The area is supported by two primary schools; White Rose Primary school and Phillipstown Primary school. The area also contains a number of religious buildings including; Saint Dingat's Church and the Presbyterian Church of Wales. Along with other parts of Rhymney, New Tredegar had Welsh speakers in the community the Welsh-only monuments in the local cemetery testify to the strength of the language locally in the first quarter of the 20th century.

Aberbargoed Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Aberbargoed) was a community hospital in Aberbargoed, Caerphilly County Borough, Wales. It was managed by the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

Bargoed railway station serves the town of Bargoed in the county borough of Caerphilly, South Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney branch of the Valley Lines network. It is located close to the Bargoed Interchange bus station.

Aberbargoed Buds Football Club is a football club based in Aberbargoed, Wales. The team play in the Gwent County League Premier Division, tier 4 of the Welsh football pyramid.

Bargoed Interchange (Welsh: Cyfnewidfa Bargod) is a bus station located in the town centre of Bargoed, South Wales. It is situated near the High Street.

Markham is a small village in the South Wales Valleys in Caerphilly County Borough, to the northeast of Bargoed. The B4511 road links to Markham from Aberbargoed and joins the A4048 road to the north of Argoed. The Sirhowy River flows to the east of the village. The village's population was around 1,495 people in 2011.

Tir-Phil railway station is a railway station serving the village of Tir-Phil and the town of New Tredegar, south Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney Line of the Valley Lines network. Work to extend the platform to take the proposed six car trains has now been completed.
